When we think about healthy and nurturing communities, images of harmony and like-mindedness are often appearing in our mental pictures...yet there is a spicy ingredient to them that we tend to forget: conflicts.
Yes, we consider conflicts a natural element of communities, not an obstacle to it! The problem is that we didn’t learn how to use them constructively, so that our relationships and opportunities can grow.
It’s a paradox: if conflicts keep being a taboo, it stays hard to open authentic dialogues that will bring us the inclusion we desire, and we will lose opportunities to organise better, make clear agreements, weave stronger relationships, and grow out of the idea of just finding the right solution. Good news is that all these skills can be learned.
And that's what we did during the Yellow Submarine training course that took place in Hopeland on 28 May - 6 June 2023.
During those 10 days, 36 people from all over Europe were invited to submerge into the daily life of Hopeland's community and conflict transformation processes through experiential learning, hands-on activities and embodiment.
