    I swear to God my thrift stores don't have s***, everything I look up is selling for almost the exact same price as eBay. I think my city has a lot of hoarder, picker, preper type people but the thrift stores are hardly worth it.

      It’s because so many people were buying clothes just to resell so the thrift shops figured might as well charge the higher price if it’s not actually gonna go to someone that needs it.

  • @ialexvideos9442
    @ialexvideos9442 10 месяцев назад +1

    Wish these videos where more honest about how difficult this really is. I did it for 2 years. They make it seem like you just walk in, look around for 5 minutes and walk out with $100 profit. It's not true.
    What they don't show you is that you're looking at about a 1-2 month waiting period on the item to sell if your lucky. Could take longer. Could be 6 months. so you need a good amount of free cash because you gotta feed yourself and be able to constantly buy new inventory. Then you gotta hope that your item doesn't get undercut by some mass market seller. then you gotta pay for packaging and proper inventory storage. Then you gotta hope that your item is satisfactory to the buyer. On ebay a few bad reviews will ruin your store. Then you gotta hope the item doesn't get returned. Then you gotta pay ebay 11-14% on the sale. You gotta pay for gas for every trip to the thrift store. And if you dont find anything to resell, which happens sometimes, you just lost money and time! The list goes on and on.
    As someone who actually did this for 2 years. It's not worth it. There are better hustles or jobs out there.

      I mean most of this stuff isnt really needed in your life. I think things that you absolutely need like shoes should be cheaper and should be sold at these thrift stores. But something like a car radio? Squishmallow? You dont need that stuff so why would you have to pay only a small amount of the money everyone else does. Also many people resell as a side hustle to basically make money on stuff like rare mugs. I saw a guy find a mug that sells for 200$ selling for 16$. That might sound like the poor people are entitled to be the only ones to be able to buy it but no poor person would buy a mug for 16$ unless they are a collector or a reseller.
