    For someone who makes JMS all the time, you did well here, nice video. I stopped using bags and just put the blended potatos and soil straight in and mix it up

      I too have made 1000’s of gal of JMS. The problem w/ not using bags is the debris will clog your pump/drip system. If your doing small scale and scooping it out for application, then yes that works. For any larger scale application filters are extremely important in drip and fertigation systems.

    This is very interesting. Thank you for going through the steps. I learned a lot. One stumbling block is chlorinated water coming out of the hose. I don't know how to overcome that where I presetly live unfortunately. It is criminal what the towns do to the water.

    • @rogueregenerativeagriculture

      Glad you found some value here. Yes municipal water can be problematic. Let the water sit outside for a few days to evaporate off the chlorine, it might not remove all of it so adding humic acid or citric acid will help to bind the rest of it up.

      @@rogueregenerativeagriculture Well that's another new thing I've learned here - adding humic acid or citric acid will bind up chlorine. However after watching your video, I had an idea - get as many buckets and barrels as possible ready for the rains that we expect in 2 days! So I even plugged up the hole in one of them that leaks! I really appreciatiate your inspiration, care for the soil and other organisms and the earth in general. Thank you for this work, it's wonderful to see.

    QUESTION:
    Hoping you can help me figure something out.
    I'm making this to innoculate my biochar. I have about 7 gallons of biochar in a huge tote soaking in water. I'm planning on adding about 4 gallons of this JADAM to the biochar.
    Then I want to add it all to my compost but I'm worried it could be too strong and burn my crops.
    My compost bin is packed with nearly finished compost and it's 3x3x3 ish.
    Can I add the entire 7 gallons of biochar and 4 gallons of JADAM?
    Thank You!

    • @rogueregenerativeagriculture
      @rogueregenerativeagriculture  10 месяцев назад +1

      I have a video on my process for charging biochar, not sure if you’ve seen that? The risk w/ biochar is not that it will be too “hot” (charged w/ nutrients that will burn your crops), actually the contrary. The real risk is applying biochar without charging and sponging up available nutrients. I wouldn’t worry about that. Sorry I didn’t catch your question earlier.

  • @lukeott58
    @lukeott58 Год назад +2

    First off, great video. I have questions about potatoes used for making JMS. I really don’t like using perfect potatoes to make this. It’s counterintuitive. You’re destroying food. It so happens that I live next door to a potato farm and after watching your video, I will be asking for potatoes that he can not sell. Second is that you seem to be using thousands of gallons a water. I was under the impression that when you go organic and build up your soil that you can use less water. I would like to see some of your plants grow in videos so that I can see it’s results. Back to the potatoes, can you use old potatoes that are not good to eat with maybe eyes growing on them. Is there anything else you can use instead of potatoes? How about sweet potatoes or yams? Anything else that might work? I think this is great and glad I stumbled across it. 😊

    • @rogueregenerativeagriculture
      @rogueregenerativeagriculture  Год назад +2

      Thanks for the response. You definitely don’t need to use “perfect” potatoes, use any potatoes or for that matter you can use any starching root or grain that has been cooked and will release carbohydrates into the liquid. I would disagree with you that it is counterintuitive, nutrient cycling is part of natures processes, by Decomposing organic matter back into the soil rather than using synthetic salts (which eventually accumulate and destroy the soil). It’s also important to note that this is an inoculant to build soil, it’s not a fertilizer. 5 lbs of potatoes will make 30 gal of JMS which I demonstrate in this video, which can again be diluted 100 times covering a large area of land, at least 1000 sq ft. So you could grow hundreds of lbs of potatoes from a few. I also don’t use thousands of gallons of water, we are in So, Cal. and do heavy mulching, cover crops, and terracing on this farm that is extremely water wise. I plan to share the ongoing farm that I manage, it is more than a full time job for me, doing a RUclips channel is a new thing and look to grow it on the side of a busy schedule. Thanks for you interest. More to come.

  • @MrTimjwilson

    Chloramines and chlorine are neutralized by organic matter. I use a tablespoon of black strap molasses to 200 liters (55 gal.) or a small handful of compost. Airing for 24 hours does not evaporate strong chlorine!
    Please try not to gather detritus from old growth forests. We have disturbed them enough.

      There is no precise number when culturing, you could use a little less to culture 30 gal. amount, however I prefer this ratio and get very active cultures. I’ve made it 100’s of times on many sites and had great results. Cheers.
