I love what the older people have to say. Somehow the rain & the mist were very appropriate for this town which has prospered for hundreds of years on the one industry, until the salinity of the spring fell. Now, without this source of work, as people leave, the buildings decay, & vegetation begins to reclaim it's own. It reminded me of how very transient & fragile is our prosperity.

The rain, the mist, the deserted old dilapidated buildings, against the backdrop of cliffs and mountains, created an air of poetic melancholy. If old buildings could speak, what stories they would tell. Your account of the town’s history as a salt producer due to the presence of a salt spring was reallyinteresting too.
