I'm an artist working on my dissertation on my journey of searching for self. I've tried relying on arts, philosophy, etc to answer "who is my true self".... I've been searching for meanings in many cultures, religions, and I found no real answers for my questions, until I read the Qur'an.. Here I ended up meeting Allah.. Words can't define how rich I felt everytime I reads every words in Qur'an. Then I reverted to Islam, and it's the most beautiful thing I've ever experience in my whole life. I ended my searching for meaning of my life: Allah is the absolute answer for all my questions. My life belongs to Allah now, and I'm not going to let anyone take this feeling away from me.

What an amazing talk by Shaikh Murad.
I'm so tgankful to Allah for having Shaikh Murad in the ranks if our Islamic scholars.
Very profound lecture. The shaikh has a way of being very succinct with his words, yet incredibly precise and eloquent. I'm always amazed at this quality of his. He eloquently touched upon 3-5 different topics in this lecture and weaved them nicely together in the end.
The last bit of advice, 'naseeha' he shared was wonderful. The safest and most productive place to invest your money is in 'sadaqah,' (charity).

Meaning: there is more than enough if you are grateful for something in your life: a child, a mercy, some grace, forgiveness, renewal, "being reborn."
Subjective meaning. Not ultimate meaning. I'm sure Hitler was grateful for a bunch of things, like slaughtering innocent people. Ultimate Meaning has to be anchored in the Divine and not left to human subjectivities. Otherwise it simply becomes a matter of taste and emotions.

He's a Cambridge professor and a very interesting lecturer, whether you agree with him or not.

One does wonder, what one may see and know, when one grows up in Highgate, educated at Westminster, Cambridge and the rest of the academic dimension in order to have an opinion of Britain at large. I'm afraid this is more academia..... To enrole to the Ashkanazi methodoligy of critique (Frankfurt school) comes to mind, not to ensure tradition and goodness live on! Useless!

If you ever met Sh. Abdal Hakim Murad and spent time with him, you would regret making such comments. He's an incredibly humble man, one who travels solely by public transportation, eats simply, speaks softly, and lives in a modest home. Do not allow your disdain for the elite to reach a man simply because he exists in a world beyond your grasp.

Touching his cup doesn't necessarily mean he's uncomfortable or doesn't enjoy the subject. I would interpret it as him thinking of how best to articulate his next point

Two things.
1 He didn't write the book it's written by another man. This was mentioned in the video which it would seem you haven't actually watched.
2 you've commented several times on here expressing your dislike of the video. How about if you don't like it you don't watch it? Also I can only assume that based on the many comments you've left you've revisited the video several times so I would ask, what have you actually been doing here if not watching the lecture?
