As a kid I grew up on 7th street which is a downhill dead end the lowest ground there is that is literally right next to the brazos river later I grew up and moved away at 18 and eventually my father had rented the home out and the start of this month june 2016 I got a call from him saying the area and house was flooded out! I knew he needed my help so I went back to 7th street after almost 30 years and the house was in a shamble so my dad who is 70 said get to work lol I first gutted the entire house panels sheet rock all had to go and then church after church helpers came and helped me out greatly and I was surprised how fast the work went and the house looks great now but it seems every other house on the street has been marked for demolition I think the house was saved due to a timely clean up the longer you let dampness and mold stagnate it rots away the floors and spreads like wild fire until it covers and eats away everything some structures in that area are really old my dad says like a pair old barns that had been there since my dad was a kid sadly a lot of my dads memory's will soon be demolished. The people who live there are mad they live so close to the river you could not get flood insurance some are giving conspiracy theories that the area was flooded on purpose so the city could buy up the land for cheap and make a river walk for the down town rosemberg railroad museum it sounds far fetched but that's what alot believe!
