    DC speaker protection circuit explained Part I | ALPHA Lab
    Hi friend!
    In this video, I analyze the working principle of a speaker protection circuit.
    The speaker protection circuit is helpful for the speaker and amplifier.
    Watching the video test operation of this circuit, please:

    Wonderful explanation, I wish to point out a little error in the circuit. I think that the base of transistor Q2 should be connected to VCC and not ground otherwise when -ve d.c from the speaker is detected, Q2 emitter-base junction will not be forward biased and as such will not conduct.

      @ALPHALabs02  3 года назад

      Thank you.
      Q3 conduct if detect +V and Q2 conduct if detect -V. So that base of Q2 should be connected to gnd

    I think the 220 resistor must be a power resistor, because when the input source meets the relay's inductor, it will feedback a power source back into the 220 ohm resistor, so 2 sources are placed into the 220 ohm resistor, it will be very hot and may burn.

    • @ALPHALabs02
      @ALPHALabs02  4 месяца назад

      Yes, it is a power resistor.

    Does this circuit also protect against short circuit and overloading?

    • @ALPHALabs02
      @ALPHALabs02  Год назад +1

      Friend, It doesn’t have short circuit and overloading function.

    which number transistor is used ?

    • @ALPHALabs02
      @ALPHALabs02  3 года назад +1

      You can use MPSA42 for npn and MPSA92 fo pnp or C1815/A1013 or other

      Sorry, i'm later. It depends on how many watt in your load

    In your circuit you have used only NPN transistor so why you have mentioned NPN and PNP transistor both like MPSA92/MPSA42 ? Can I use only C1815 transistor in q1, q2 , q3

    • @ALPHALabs02
      @ALPHALabs02  2 года назад +1

      Yes. It only has NPN transistor. There is a problem in my memory. You can use MPSA42 or C1815 or another. The important is that you need to check its maximum current. An another important is that you need to understand how it work. Hope you like it.

    How do I connect protect led indicator

    • @ALPHALabs02
      @ALPHALabs02  Год назад

      From the C pin of transistor that control on/off relay, you connect a resistor series a red led to gnd. It is protection mode.

    What Q1,Q2,Q3 number

    • @ALPHALabs02
      @ALPHALabs02  3 года назад +1

      In my design, I use MPSA42 and MPSA92 but you can use another transistors. Example 2SC1815, 2SA1013. Not difficult to chose transistor for those positions.
