I have several Gonzo knives. I have BMs and I found that the Gonzo has a equal fit and finish. They are a solid well made knife. The action is smoother than my BM.
Frankly I've been consistently impressed by Ganzo every time I've gotten one. And while people often call them clones they never try to counterfeit the work of others even the more similar designs are clearly labeled and from what I've seen have clear enough differences in build that you couldn't be fooled into believing they were any other knife on the market if you were trying to check to see if it was a real 940 or Delica/Byrd/whatever.
This channel and these products have what I refer to the “dollar store effect”. Many thing I see here, I don’t need at all, but “for that price, why the hell not?!” Great idea finding value off a shipping mistake!
A funny trivia point is many people love to trash 440C steel, but they fail to remember that 440C was so good it was called a Super Steel back in the day nothing really changed about it just our perception and eventually the high-end super steels of today are going to eventually be replaced with the next flavor of steel and people will talk trash about them. I am starting to believe that some of the hype on the latest greatest knife steel is just marketing to get you to spend hundreds on their new blades.
@Druidic Honestly, I've done so much research on knives at this price point (15-35) and I keep coming to the same conclusion even when I find a new budget contender - The ruike is just better for the price. The main reason I haven't ordered one yet is because I've been trying to find another just like it but with an axis, button, or crossbar lock instead. The problem is almost nobody makes a knife with a 14c28n blade and a non-liner lock at this price.
@Druidic essentially I want something I could flip open and closed with one hand all day to fidget with but also be able to use it as a razor, food preparer, or even whittler if need be.
Just received my first GANZO FIREBIRD KNIFE TODAY, (WEDNESDAY APRIL 5TH 2023) from Amazon. Mine is model # F759M-GR and I really like it alot. It also has 440c steel and I only paid $18 and change total with tax included.
I got quite a few Ganzos …I also have a bunch of other knives. And I have to say Ganzo is hands down the best budget knives out there. They are very fidgety 😬 G727 is my favorite
What a great little budget hidden gem. Thanks for sharing 👍 Edit: I just went and checked this out on Amazon and the black version is listed at only $19.95, so man what a great knife for under 20. So good 👍
You're absolutely correct about everything in the video... better known knife companies can't compete. If more people were aware. The price to quality is outstanding. Big name manufacturer's should be ashamed of the price they charge... for the little bit better blade steel it just doesn't justify the way higher additional price point. People need to wake up. I could go into a major rant about cost compared to demand and the knife community paying outrageous for the privilege of just a name. There's certain "GRAIL" knives that I originally would have really wanted, but now I don't even look at them!!!
I've own this knife for quite some time, it's decent overall. Ganzo's "440c" has been found to be 8cr13mov as well as 440c in the past. I doubt it was intentional vs them just taking low priced steel they thought was 440c though. It's ok for the $ even in the event that one does get 8cr instead of 440c. Handle is a little small for me with that triangle at the end. Springs on the axis lock came to me way too strong, but softened up a little bit (enough for it to be useable) after I jammed the lock fully open (Iirc I used the little rods from a q-tip I cut up) and left it for a week or so. It's fine for a knife that you're going to abuse or to loan out and not care much about. I prefer the 7601 (also on bearings) & 7611 (on bronze washers) to this one though.
I have that model as well as a few more Ganzo offerings. I bought one as a knife to throw in a checked bag to go to Oregon. Used it a lot and used it to baton through some wood for a fire pit at the Air b&b we stayed at. The knife took it like a boss. It was still sharp and tight. I hated 440C until that Ganzo. Bought a few more models. I have a ton of Spyderco’s, Bechmade’s, etc. Ganzo hits wat above their price point. No reason to not have a decent knife in your car and they make great gifts for your non knife friends.
I finally got a Ganzo from Amazon, there is nothing low quality about this knife. Benchmade would charge $90-$100 street at least, for the exact same thing if they had to make it in Oregon.
I have the colour grey but it looks more like European Blue than grey which is perfectly match with blue jeans. The closing position already looks classy to me and it just meant to be most people EDC, even those work in the office.
I had one of these in the blue/grey color. My only problem was the tip would stick out a tiny bit when closed because the tension didn't hold the blade all the way in. Tip is so close to the edge of the handle. Cut my hand a couple times because of it.
The only dilemma I have when purchasing a budget knife is do I buy Ganzo, Petrified Fish, or Sincut because they are all fantastic I think PF and Sincut are upgraded Ganzos but they are all fantastic and great buys. I think one of the best actions I have seen on a budget stock knife was a Petrified Fish PF818 at only $28 bucks
Thanks for the review, I want an edc knife but I cannot buy it since I dont live in the US and somehow they do not offer shipping such items (including leatherman) here. But I did get a purple classic SD for my mom from Amazon. Not sure how it works. Anyway it looks amazing and great color, I'd keep it just for the heck of it! (though I know you are trying to slim down lol)
I picked up a 753m1 about a month ago, and it really is very good - even at 2x or 3x the price. Better action than both my SOG Terminus XRs (D2 and S35VN versions). I’ll be curious to see how long the omega springs last, as I have a TERRIBLE track record with omega springs! Less than 30 days to break a spring on a Bugout, and I’m on set #4 in 2 years with the Terminus XR D2.
my personal experience; Ive had 2 ganzos with omega springs. none of em broke and I had em for a while. While my both my bugout springs broke within 6 months (give or take) and had to get it replaced.
As a New Zealander, I would love to buy an American knife, but they are obscenely priced over here. Thank goodness for the Chinese churning out some fantastic knives, and even though more expensive than what you would pay in America , they are still cheap here.
I have my fb760 (also in 440c,ball bearings) since 2019. Im waiting for it to be broken so i can ask my wife to buy me a new knife 😁 but, still in good shape. Just some scratches on blade and i accidentally banged up the tip but still pointy after some sharpening
My dad needs a new knife as his tac force is falling apart... nothing fancy as it will just sit in a drawer as a box opener ( he doesn't EDC them as I do) I was looking at ganzos and my only issue is that I can't stand behind the cloning, this may solve my issue!
The last releases from Ganzo are all in-house designed from what I saw. They have some really cool designs too like the FH61 which is a favorite of mine for EDC (and I use it more than my Bagout tbf)
I got this exact one a few weeks ago. Super impressed over all, just like you. What's your suggestion to weaken the spring a little? as I find it's too strong.
I appreciate ganzos but the few I've had were really thick behind the edge, making cuts through gummy materials difficult. can someone recommend a ganzo/firebird with thin stock/bte?
I sent this one back because it just felt way too small in hand for me and I have very small hands. I love their F7601, though. Similar build , same quality and axis lock, but a little more to hold onto. Just ordered a G720, too.
For $20 this seems unreal. Chinese manufacturing is a modern marvel. I'll stick to my USA made products though that guarantee to pay their workers well enough to live
Yeah it kind of crazy how the chi coms are producing these high quality knives at this price point. I've been a quality control inspector my whole life. From nuclear power production to aircraft. Their beginning to be in par with the Japanese when it comes to attention to detail.
God i hate this review. I have about 8 or 9 ganzo's and i just received my reate and an eafengrow titanium. And i wanted stop buying knives for a while. Hi, I have been meaning to reach you over a query, regarding my Leatherman Wave+ multitool. I can state the problem over here, but I don't think this is the appropriate platform to talk about it. Do you have an email address, so that I can tell you the problem that I have encountered with my Wave? Thanks.

Haha, I have enabler powers lols

Ahh, the olden days! When 440C was king and things like 5160, 52100, D2, and ATS-34 were the signs of custom handmade.
I've carried a 440C knife for about ten years and it's not bad. It was a pretty good steel in the old days.
440c is still a great steel. I recently bought a 440c Joker Lynx I would put up against any knife with random artisan steels.
@Druidic would you buy this or a p801, with this being 15 dollars cheaper.
@Druidic Honestly, I've done so much research on knives at this price point (15-35) and I keep coming to the same conclusion even when I find a new budget contender - The ruike is just better for the price. The Ganzo's are blowing my mind how well they're made👍 I just found this channel and I'm liking it! I'm subscribing‼👍👍✌

Ganzo is awesome and a lot of people don't like to admit it haha
Facts are facts...I can't deny the quality

Ganzo does a decent product for the money; probably you get more actually. For many people around the world with a tight budget this is a fine go to.
I finally got a Ganzo from Amazon, there is nothing low quality about this knife. Benchmade would charge $90-$100 street at least, for the exact same thing if they had to make it in Oregon.

“There is nothing to complain about” couldn’t say it better myself! Nice video in this piece brother!!

Appreciate your unbiased review. Indeed, there nice “budget” knives out there.

Have you broken the springs yet?
Ganzo knives put US made knives at shame tbh. China will take over the market in less than a decade, mark this.
As a New Zealander, I would love to buy an American knife, but they are obscenely priced over here.
Thank goodness for the Chinese churning out some fantastic knives, and even though more expensive than what you would pay in America , they are still cheap here.
I prefer this one to a Bugout. This pocket knife is very well made and much, much cheaper.
I have my fb760 (also in 440c,ball bearings) since 2019. Im waiting for it to be broken so i can ask my wife to buy me a new knife 😁 but, still in good shape. Just some scratches on blade and i accidentally banged up the tip but still pointy after some sharpening

I ordered everyone they have all amazing and I'm doing it again 😊
Nice review. I just got mine today, excellent knife!
I got this exact one a few weeks ago. Super impressed over all, just like you. What's your suggestion to weaken the spring a little? as I find it's too strong.
Hmm, not sure.
Reminds me now of the kershaw iridium 😊
How is that safe when the poking (stabbing) load is directly in line with a load that would push the axis-level-button open and remove your fingers ?
I appreciate ganzos but the few I've had were really thick behind the edge, making cuts through gummy materials difficult. can someone recommend a ganzo/firebird with thin stock/bte?

I don't know why they only use D2 in their flippers.
No idea, love 440c more
Thanks for the review this is one I can afford !!! 👍👌🆗️🆒️
Picking one up, at that price, why not?
I bought a ganzo in 2019, $35. The price is way better currently. HOWEVER, China has some problems, will the prices start to jump?
Probably not for a while
Hey at that cost tough to not pick one up.
What kind of springs do they use. I need replacements but don't know the correct springs to purchase
No idea
For $20 this seems unreal. Chinese manufacturing is a modern marvel. I'll stick to my USA made products though that guarantee to pay their workers well enough to live
The low price of Chinese productions is more related to state subsidies than to a merciless exploitation of workers.
Do you really think $12/hr is enough to live on? What do you think Benchmade or Spyderco pay their employees?
Respect! Have you checked out the Hogue deka in magnacut yet???
@@maxlvledc I didn't know it was out in magnacut. Ive had a deka on my list for a long time. Might need to pull the trigger
Does anyone know where to buy ganzo knives i can't find a seller or merchant and always out of stock on amazon
They are never out of stock on Amazon 😅.
Yeah it kind of crazy how the chi coms are producing these high quality knives at this price point. I've been a quality control inspector my whole life. From nuclear power production to aircraft. Their beginning to be in par with the Japanese when it comes to attention to detail.
Great knife
God i hate this review.
I have about 8 or 9 ganzo's and i just received my reate and an eafengrow titanium.

And you are making want this knife.
😆😆😆 It's not really ur fault, because i was looking at knife reviews with thumb studs.
😆😆😆😆
Thanks for review.✌🏼🦁
Sorry not sorry 🤣
Benchmade 940 clon
chinese made knife has been improve . and competively to other knives.. i have many ganzo knives i cannot buy expensive ones than this knife, many chinese knives has recognized as a good knife just like .civivi, we. and many others in flaslhlights they have tons that great just like,,,olight, lumintop, sofirn, nitecore. wurkkus etc. im from phillipines.
Good point. I really like the Lumintop flashlights.

Yep, in the description
