I agree with everything except the backpack part. While I am aware that in classic menswear a backpack is basically a no go, classic menswear emerged during a time where backpacks weren't really a big thing except from the military. So they never incorperated it into their style, therefore this resulted in going for weekender and those leather bags which while looking great, they are absolutely terrible for your back. Sure if you dont carry a lot its fine but in the long term bags like that cause seruous spinal issues. Therefore since I am a student in biology and also I do care about not having back issues I suggest still going for a backpack but you should go for a very minimal one. You can go for a leather one and no logos ideally but me for example I went for a samsonite black bachpack that is very practical. In the end you won't regret it, no matter who I travelled with, in the end people always told me they'd rather put stuff in my backpack or have mine than their leather bags.
Thanks for watching. I totally agree with you. That's why I also mentioned at the end that everything has its time and place. I also wear backpacks in Europe when I go to a grocery store and I definitely did as a student. Just for going on a date, to the office or any occasion where you want to dress a but nicer, the other bags I mentioned would be a better alternative in my opinion.
I agree with everything you listed. I think this is especially true in USA. I would have added ball caps, tank tops and sports jersey, except when attentions a sports event.
I'm new to your channel, but just wanted to pipe in and complement you on providing useful guidance in a way that is informative while not being condescending. Sandler was thrown under the bus, but I think even he would agree!
I agree with on alot of your choices. I can dress up well when the occasion calls which is unfortunately rare these day's. When i dress casual i follow the simple rules that it must fit properly, the colours must compliment each other. No logos and It must be seasonal and finally clean footwear.
i know this is just your opinion. personally i never believed in the concept of dressing like a child or dressing your age. i personally don't wear shorts. my car has leather seats. i consistently wear black lounge pants and black tshirt and platform boots. i'm not into minimal shoes. my new rock boots are kinda flashy
What I missed were headwear (especially baseball caps / newsboy cap / porkpie hat). And wearing 'niche jewellery' like biker skull rings or viking rings when you don't already look like a badass. And visible 'tough guy' tattoos when you're a wimp.
Like the video very much, I like that you are giving a lot of examples. I have some questions. Do you use any product on your hair and what products and from what brands do you recommend? And do you think I can wear a waistcoat without a blazer with a dress shirt? And one last thing may I ask how old are you? And I think if you make a video about ranking viewers outfits would be really cool.
I think you wearing waistcoat without blazer will give very casual impression. In case you are trying to look casual, I would wear instead of a dress shirt, an oxford shirt untucked with chino pants and the waistcoat. If you are trying to look formal with the combination, there is no other way around except wearing the blazer even if you leave the waistcoat out. I would guess from his style; Lukas is in his mid 30s.
A waistcoat without a blazer is definitely doable, but pay attention to a few things: • Don't wear a tie in that instance, as a waistcoat + tie look without the blazer appears incomplete. Instead, leave 1 or 2 shirt buttons open • Change the dress shirt to an oxford shirt, as duungyang has said • Always, ALWAYS tuck in your shirt when wearing a waistcoat above it. Hard disagree with the other commenter here. An untucked shirt with a waistcoat is exactly the kind of childish look that you are warned about in that video here. There's a reason for this, too. Waistcoats are usually cut short. They are meant to be worn with higher rise trousers which cover your hip, so that you get a streamlined look. Untucking the shirt will throw off the balance of your outfit and may also make you appear shorter than you are.
Thank you :) I appreciate your support. I use mainly hair paste, because for my hair it works better than wax, gel or pomade. But you have to try out which ones work best for you. The specific one I use is the got2b Phenomenal Molding Paste by Schwarzkopf. I'm 32 years old. Great idea :) I should collect a few outfits on Instagram and make a video reviewing them. If you volunteer, you can send me a message on Instagram @lukas_schanderl I will blur out faces of course, if preferred. I think a waistcoat with a shirt can look cool, but it can look a bit like a waiter/butler. Why do you want to wear a waistcoat just by itself? For extra breathability or simply because you like the look? If the first is the case, you can also go for an unlined sports jacket, if the latter is the case, just go for it and see if you like it :)
Dude G-Shocks are classic they can really make an outfit. I own several G-Shocks I get a lot of compliments and I'm 41 years old. Totally disagree with you on the G-Shocks totally
I watch 90s videos... not just from USA but many other countries. Just look at Singapore HK FRANCE India Nepal and many. Some of these are actually 3rd world countries and yet people in 90s wore mature clothes. I think people with time have become just lazy and hopeless.
Maybe it's the specific type of cargo shorts I have in mind. I am generally not the biggest fan of cargo pants, but I recently saw a pair of Bryceland's that actually looked quite nice.
@@Lukas_SchanderlAs a man myself, I choose to wear regular shorts when I’m outside in warm weather so I won’t get uncomfortable. I strongly believe men have as much right to wear shorts outside in warm weather as women do; otherwise, this would be gender discrimination. I wouldn't talk down on the classic g-shock watches...the classic modells can look very nice with a more casual outfit. The rest of the videos is solid advice
I disagree with the graphic t-shirts, cargo shorts and the sneakers: Graphic t-shirts are good casual option when layered with a jacket, Cargo shorts can look good if you know what you’re doing with the length and retro sneakers like Jordan 1, Air Force 1, retro new balances, converse Chuck Taylor etc, are much more visually interesting than the common projects style minimalist sneakers
Theres 2 perspective the guy is addressing here so it can mean he's implying to men that don't know how to dress up while the other he's implying that the rules of age for dressing up. If he's implying on rules of age there are people out there who knows better than just sticking to the age rule that they know the difference between having fun when dressing up than being someone they don't want. I don't know how many agree with me in this

@@Lukas_SchanderlI still want to wear decent jeans, t-shirts (in warm weather) and other casual clothes in places where plenty of others including women are dressed similarly in places such as sporting events, amusement parks, recreational places, shopping malls or just going outside. Well said. It's just common logic that we don't apply. No need to make a video.I wish I could get the money I spent buying these foolish clothes that I thought would make me look "cool".
A gentleman should not wear shorts in the city. The only place shorts are acceptable is at the beach, a tropical/beach resorts or a pool party. Once a gentlemen is out of school he should leave the backpack behind, unless you are hiking. While I do sometimes wear sneakers, I prefer leather shoes. They not only look better. They are also eco-friendly. If you have good quality shoes they can be resoled and last a lifetime. Sneakers have to be replaced. With respect to watches I would add smart watch. They do not create an elegant look. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on a watch consider bulova, which was good enough for Frank.
Does this include women as well? Otherwise, this is sexist gender discrimination. Men have as much right to wear hoodies provided the hood stays down in the same places as women
