So it turns out that the camcorder’s lens contains a “filter of love” which allows them to see the beauty of the world beyond the character’s internal and external appearances..
they were both so afraid - yet at the same time, both were desperate to save and protect each other. At the end, they accepted their cruel fate and fearlessly faded together.. in a world that doesn’t let them to, they stayed by each other’s side, loving until the very end.

Whenever I rewatch this video I cry as if it is my first watch. 😭 So basically to my understanding and from what I have gathered Taehyung is blind in one eye and IU is deaf (they both have some sort of disability) and apparently the cube hunts down these people that are considered "faulty" in this society and annihilates them. Perhaps the message behind this video is the discrimination people feel and experience. It was so beautiful that they stayed together and comforted each other till the very end. IU was tapping in sign language "I love you" to Tae and hiding his good eye so he doesn't have to be face to face with it 🥺 I loved them so much in this mv, I wish we could get more of them perhaps in a drama AGH😭😭😭

ARMYs are loving this MV. And we're in agreement- IU and Tae do look good together. But yes, IU is happily in love with someone else. But they are good friends and she's been friends with Suga for years, so it was nice to see this. I hope in the future she can be in a BTS MV, I think that would be really cute. Also, I hope at some point in the future we get more actor V, and hopefully actor Jin. But we'll see.

I'm not sure but I think Taehyung is the deaf one and he has a blind eye. Because in the MV IU guides him the entire time, in the beginning she's in the lead and she took his hand, it sees like she's the first one to notice the cubes, also she taps him in some parts when they're singing, she use signs idk
also I feel like Taehyung portrayed such a scared person in the beginning, but he doesn't react to sounds that much, that's weird🥺

Looks like the camera showed non of the flaws they had such as the scars and V's blind eye, color was brighter. Also did you see in the credit who the Special Guest was? It was the cube🔳. 😆
The Cube represents society, it is chasing every individual who doesn't fit the standards of society. Here V is half blind, IU is deaf and mute. So they are running from oppression of society. The world is controled by these standards of perfection to the point that people in South Korea put masks on when they don't have make-up or when they feel unsecure or they wear hats when their hair is messy. The MV is a dysopian view of our society. While they are trying to hide in this abondonned place filled with the clothes of people who died because of this oppression, they find a camera that allows them to have an illusion of what their lives could be if they were "normal" by society's standards, it starts with their looks, they could see how they would have looked like, then what they would eat, then they start to feel the illusion a bit too much to the point they beautifully imagine that IU could sing and V could sing as well and she could listen to his voice, they could marry each other and just have fun and eat whatever they want because they wouldn't have to care about society or any other kind of oppression. However, as soon as they feel a little bit of confort and try to live their life, the Cube (society) finds them again and push them to retreat and flee again, but the Cube managed to find them again, they try to survive against it and try to fight it as hard as they can, but they cannot beat a stronger system, they just give up but at least they stayed together until the end. Even if they died at the end, they loved each other deeply, it shows that even if society is oppressive, people can love each other and they can find their soulmate even if they are not "normal or perfect" to the eyes of some many others. The pile of clothes is like from Spring Day, these people died because of injustice, but they deserved love, so the pile of clothes can look very gloomy and sad, but as in Spring Day MV if you don't forget them you can seem them happy and free where they are right now...

I love this song. It's soooo pretty. Her voice has such a sweet resonant quality. IU and V really do look great together in this. Their characters had really great chemistry with each other too. I totally bought the narrative the MV was trying to sell. Like I legit cried coming down to the end of it. It reminded me a bit of the move A Quiet Place where the family was trying to survive these aliens that track down and kill everyone who makes a sound. I suspect it's a similar situation where these two survived for as long as they did (despite so many others being taken before them) because they had a way to communicate silently and go unnoticed.
I've been meaning to get into IU's kdramas since I first heard about it but I never got around to it. I only really know her for the couple of songs I've heard from her. This really made me want to watch something from her ASAP. She really is very good. It's not hard to see why she's so beloved. Such a sweetheart of a person from what I've seen of her on the Palette and Suchwita. Add that to how talented she is and it's no wonder she's a media darling. You can't help but like her. So many ARMY have a soft spot for her. I hope one day we get more collabs with her.

Don't worry guys, we don't get triggered for this stuff. In fact, they look so good, we wish we could have a kdrama or something with them.
IU in the MV is deaf while Taehyung is blind in one eye. In a way, the MV portrays IU's gaze(female gaze where Taehyung is the subject) I believe and in general, the camcorder's "love filter" makes everything happy around them even in the way the world is.
It portrays the cold harsh reality with the "warmth of love which I believe we can see through the difference in the tones of the MV. The colours play an important part I think. Even at the end, the cube is "RED" which portrays both love and danger.
Just a fun fact though, IU is dating Lee Jong Suk(an actor) as well. You guys might know him as well, so I mentioned it. It would be great if you guys could react to his drama "Big Mouth". It came out last year and it's really good.

Beautiful story, it was not a just a beautiful song. IU and V are imperfect people according to the world. But through another lens, they see each other as perfect. In the real world, they may not have much, but they love each other and commit to each other by getting married. But the world intrudes on them and gets rid of their love, because their love should not be. It gets rid of them. We see that the world has done that before to others love that was deemed not worthy. Their stories is like other love that has come before theirs, disintegrated because they were perceived as imperfect by the world. The real world is broken.

Absolutely beautiful! So, here's my take: It's about the perils of having relationships as an idol. The apocalyptic world is the real world, the cube is society eating up idols, consuming their lives. I think she is mute: unable to speak out against this consumption (because she does sing during the wedding scene) and he's turning a blind eye to the reality of their situation, to everyone but her. Though they desperately cling to one another they can't live in peace. They look through the lens of their video recorder and see only themselves and their love in this world. The mocking people trying to disrupt them and tear them apart are the critics, and in some cases, extreme fans. In the end, they're unable to stay in this idealized version of their life, their love persecuted and their life is once again consumed by the expectations of fans on idols.

V es conocido por sus dotes interpretativas, le gusta y se le da bien aunque no haya estudiado interpretación. Ya sabréis que participo como personaje secundario en un k-drama de época, con actores muy famosos y se lo paso muy bien y aprendió mucho. Desde entonces todo el mundo quiere que sea protagonista de algún K-drama. IU escogió a V por todo esto y por su aspecto. V es considerado como el idol más guapo de esta generación o uno de los más guapos. Y es como juntar a dos meta estrellas de Corea en un Mv quearece una película! Éxito seguro! She seems to be deaf. He cannot see through one of his eyes. They are what society loves to label as "imperfect" and "defective". The "box" is the society that loves to "box" people and put labels on them resulting in a loss of agency, which can be equated to a kind of death! There are other layers and small details too that consolidate and further this interpretation. At least that's how I interprete the story!
They acted well. It was a mini movie. A short film of love and loss. I think it could have multiple messages or deeper meanings though. To care about people that have physical imperfections or disabilities like being blind or deaf. To love others instead of fighting.
