Welcome To Cardiff
In the first episode of our 5 years anniversary series we are visiting our airport on a cold January morning in 2003 where snow showers are causing some disruption to the traffic.
Each season of the series will play out 1 year with season 1 portraying the year 2003 at the airport.
Cardiff is a fictional series that will feature made up but also inspired by real life events from the respective time period. The air traffic displayed is picked to fit the time period but for entertainment purposes there are some historical inaccuracies throughout the series.

Thanks so much for watching. Yes, Norwegian indeed flew in 2003. The airline started as a regional airlines back in 1993. In 2002 the airline shifted its profile from a regional carrier to become a low cost carrier.

Don't know the exact age but probably 4 or 5
I don't think I have one favourite as there are too many great models but my good old Maersk Air 737 is a model that is close to my heart.
I haven"t counted in a long time but by now I'll be at 400+
The majority of my models are from Herpa so again 400+
I live in Esbjerg, Denmark

Vielen Dank 😊. Der Schnee ist ganz normales Mehl. Ich habe es nach dem filmen gleich mit einem sehr feinen Pinsel von den Fliegern entfernt und von der platte mit einem Staubsauger auf der niedrigsten Saugstufe entfernt. Es ist sehr wichtig das keine Feuchtigkeit an das Mehl kommt. Mit Puderzucker wäre ich sehr vorsichtig da es sehr schnell sehr klebrig werden könnte.

Very detailed model so well done for that, but why go to the trouble of building this model airport and naming it Cardiff, when in truth it looks nothing like Cardiff Airport? Don't get me wrong, its beautifully detailed, especially the snow, just interested to know why you just didn't build a proper replica of the airport?

Season 1 comprises of 8 episodes that will feature traffic throughout the year 2003. All episodes have been filmed and I have finished editing the first 6 episodes. Each subsequent season will portray one following year and may have up to 12 episodes if the reception for the series is good. I have planned for 3 seasons but it could become 4 or even 5 seasons.

Was just rewatching this series and I wanted to ask how did you create the snow effect without damaging the display?

I use normal flour. Just make sure that it doesn't get in contact with humidity or liquids and don't leave it on your display for more than a few days. Removing It thoroughly after usage (vacuum cleaner is a good option) is important. That has given me the in my opinion the best snow results, while being a very inexpensive method.

Auf jeden fall. Es ist so einiges bereits geplant und vorbereitet und wird im laufe der staffeln zu sehen sein👍
Ich weiß nicht ob ich so gutes deutsch spreche aber ich kann es weil ich in Deutschland aufgewachsen bin und viele Jahre dort gelebt habe. Ich habe auch heute noch einige deutsche Freunde so das ich mein Deutsch aufrecht erhalten kann.

Wo kaufst du deine Modelle und Gebäude? Und die Bodenfolien und so? Wo kann man solche Business-Jets kaufen? Ich kaufe immer bei Modellbau-Haertle guter Online Shop

Also ich kaufe oft online beim Aviation Center Berlin aber für Cardiff habe ich auf einige Flieger die ich schon seit Ewigkeiten habe zurück gegriffen aber auch einen großen teil auf e-bay ergattert. Dies gilt auch für die Business jets die auch von Herpa sind.

@Christian 22 um noch deine frage wegen der Bodenfolien zu beantworten, mein Munich City Flughafen benutzt standard platten von Herpa. Für meine Philadelphia und Cardiff Flughäfen habe ich keine Folien benutzt sondern den Boden komplett selbst gemacht. Ich habe dafür mit Acrylfarben und Uni Posca stiften gearbeitet.
