I loved these TV series when I was in high school...I had so much work then....Texas Ranger on Friday evenings, Hercules or Xena on Sundays and X files as well (it was on Thursday on TV) ... these series were making me happy, when I was young :)
One of the best things about the Xena/Hercules shows was they didn't just cast,they strove to bring out what each actor/ress hd to offer by putting them in roles that would make them shine. I was so relieved when they took that animatronic monstrosity that they had been calling Ares and replaced it with Kevin Smith. Kevin brought to light a God of War that was ultimately narcissistic and self-serving, but it wasn't just usuability that got Ares to be devoted to someone's protection. He always hoped Xena would reclaim her warlord mantle, but at the same time he knew exactly how far he could push the subject before she told him to fuck off. Kevin's Ares was always the third wheel in the X/G love story,and so long as it seemed he could at least bask in Xena's glory,he was content to walk five miles through the desert on broken glass to be able to sweat in her shadow. I was *so* heartbroken when my dad told me that Headline News was reporting that he had fallen off a stage wall in China and died. Only 28 yrs old!
Kevin Smith died in China "under mysterious circumstances". He was making a Martial Arts Film, and late at night went out to the set and "allegedly" fell suffering sever skull injury, rushed to Beijing Hospital was put on life support for 3 days. China's Official Version: "Kevin Smith died on February 15, 2002 in a Beijing hospital from head injuries after falling three stories from a tower on February 6, 2002". IMHO, I think I would replace Fell with Pushed. I will always miss him. Smith did not drink or do drugs. He was a true Martial Artist and his Mind and Body are a testament to his healthy life style. So, I doubt he was under the influence of any substance when he "fell". As all great Martial Artists, he had cat-like instincts and footing. Pushed.
They did one of these videos at a Hercules-Xena convention I attended in Pasadena in January 2000. This is not that vid, obviously, but still a lot of fun. Well done! Kevin Smith taken far too soon.

He would`ve been DEFINITELY worth seeing the crow remake if he was cast as Eric Draven No one can be better then Brandon Lee but if he was still around He would be better then Bradley Cooper EVER will be & Hell while no one compares to Lee Kevin Tod Smith could`ve EASILY given Lee a run for his money
