  • If you're looking to Run Deep in Tournaments CONSTANTLY, I'm going to teach you how to with these 5 tournament poker tips!
    To win poker tournaments, you have to play every stage of the tournament very well! That means the early stages, where deep-stacks are prevalant, and weak players haven't been knocked out yet! From there, you'll need to master how to play with a short stack, and also how to play nearing the money (tournament bubble).
    If you're going to win though, you need to have stamina! Many players lose 1 big hand, tilt off, and they're out of the tournament because of bad decisions! If you can be mentally sharp, and learn how to play each stage well, you're going to run deep more often, and win more poker tournaments!
    If you want to test your tournament poker skills, and see if you have what it takes to run deep, check out this poker quiz: pokercoaching.com/blog/quiz-o...
    5 Tips to RUN DEEP in More Tournaments:
    #1: Get a Big Stack Early
    #2: Learn How to Play Short Stack Poker
    #3: Play the Bubble Well
    #4: Do Not Go on Tilt
    #5: Be Mentally Sharp

    Jonathan, I really like the way you explain the "why" behind the charts. I also appreciate how you discuss the other factors that you should consider, such as where we are in the tournament and payout implications. I am really struggling to learn how to make the charts work for me. Your explanations help. Thank you.

    The tilt thing resonates with me. Years ago, when I was very inexperienced, I was playing an online cash game and flopped two pair, got my stack in, and got outdrawn. Then I rebought, tilted off another buy in, and was so mad that that beat cost me two buy ins. Wow, was that a loser mindset.
    Great advice and video, as always.

      @@FlappyBelly Certainly so, but I can’t control how he plays or what the dealer throws out there. I can only control how I respond, which has definitely vastly improved since the time in which this incident that I mentioned occurred.

    I'm reminded of the last tournament I played. A guy sat down to my left and was acting as if he was looking for a double up or reenter. To his credit, his acting worked and I was all-in drawing to 6 outs. When I hit, he absolutely lost his shit and bought in and busted twice more that I know of in the following 20 minutes.

    I came 4th the other day in a pko . When there was about 30ish players i lost 2 flips almost in a row. 1st i had A 9 s against a shorter stack with aj off. A hand or 2 later i had 10s against a lower pair(cant remember their pair) that caught a set on the river. So i was left with less then a blind. Well i picked my spots and fought my way to 4th.

    Lol. Was just thinking how is that all these big time players manage to overcome the variance of the inevitable shove fest in the latter stages to actually win worthwhile money while i keep getting busted out with little or nothing to show for my "deep" run except the loss of 4 hours of my life. Was beginning to attribute it to luck. Turns out i just need to be better.

    jonanthan why you are not playing triton series man? After those two wins, he should play these tournaments.
    the triton guys do not conduct it in usa for what reason i dont know. they only do it in london, montecarlo,vietname,cyprus, south korea now.
    -------------
    these american high stake regulars need to play them.

    I try to follow every single one of your tips to a tee but I consistently run into bad beats. Which I know is apart of variance in poker. But final table $50 tournament, 4 left: 3 get paid. I’m 3rd largest stack. I 3-bet jam AA against UTG raiders, I get called off against Q4o, and the flop comes Q 4 4. I just don’t understand who plays for 5 hours and decides this is the hand that they call off against me (TAG)

  • @stevezagieboylo9172

    I'm a little puzzled by the 3-bet range you show at 2:00. A8o looks like 100% 3bet, and 88 is also strongly 3-bet. This seems to make you 8-heavy in your 3-bet range. With the exception of Q9 vs. Q8, you 3-bet all the hands containing an 8 more than the equivalent hands with 9s. Why would 99 never raise but 88 does so around half the time?
    As a computer expert, this seems to me to be an aberration of feedback, somehow. I could see the 99 vs 88 difference if we had a lot fewer other 8s in our 3-bet range and we needed to get some in there for balance, but that's not the case. I do know that these algorithms sometimes get some weird feedback, and I'm starting to suspect that this is one case.

    • @betonOPL
      @betonOPL 2 месяца назад

      Idk the CO range but maybe it's more 9x heavy and just folds more 8x so with an 8 you unblock 9x that are opens but autofold to a 3bet

      These arent perfect ranges. Jonathan Little is good but he isnt the best poker coach of all time. You look at different coaching sites ranges they would be similar but they wouldnt be the same.There is more than one set of ranges that can be pretty balanced and profitable but some are closer to equlibrium than others.

    • @Reypstraptor4269
      @Reypstraptor4269 Месяц назад

      The are perhaps without accounting for post flop at a very high level as would an advanced Solver, but they might be better for practical use for some players especially begginers where they cant play anywhere close to the computer, and simplifying a stragey often times when you calculate the EV it doesnt actually loose that much EV when you simplify it. If PIOs optimal strategy is to have 5 bets sizes on the flop but you simpify it by making it use only 1 size the EV loss isnt actually that significant
