Hands down the best weight lifting coach ever, yes even better than Johnny Shreeve and Greg Doucette. Johnny tends to over complicate things with scientific terms and bio mechanics just like Athlean X, Keep it simple
Best coach I’ve ever had! I’ve learned more from him than I have any trainer I know in real life. I’m still in shock he’s not here anymore but my prayers go out to your family John.
He was an excellent teacher. Even do he was on gear, he never denied it and was always up to helping natural lifters achieve their potential. I wish i can have one once of this mens calmness.
John legitimately taught me how to train lats. I could never get the connection but after a few of his videos I've been blowing them up EVERY SINGLE LIFT. Thanks John. You gave me back my rows, lat pulldowns, and pretty much anything that isn't a straight arm pulldown lol.
Couple more seconds of the Man the legend actually doing some reps plz ,,,Personally I try to watch and mimic his method concise , hard when there's half a second of him actually doing the movement
Every short I see of this guy, I really wish I would have found him early in my lifting days. Did a lot of things wrong and have had to find the good way for my body through trial and error and a lot of the things I see him speak on are the things I've learned on my own by getting hurt.
Basically, connect to the lats. If you have a good connection, then you should be able to feel what works and doesn't and in turn perform an effective row. Put another way, "drive with the elbow." And I agree 100% on the last tip. I might just add watch where you draw the elbow. Flared vs near the ribs can make a big difference. 👍🏻
The elbow queue is the reason I’m getting anything out of my pull days John is one of the best coaches for bodybuilding on youtube end of discussion R.I.P Mountain Dog
I, as a beginner, tried the staggered stance db rows and it definitely is better for me bc it is almost a compound movement, working core stabilizers. My lower back was sore first I tried them.
He's still TEACHING 💯
@Penderyn
My issue was... as I got older, didn't like puttin all that pressure down on my knees.
Heck, I’m still learning from the Master👍

About damn time we saw the example exercise, the last second
A legend..
It’s very difficult to isolate your lats, most people turn it into a bicep exercise. Great advice 💪
That's cause they're not "driving with the elbow" 😅👌
Thankyou bro
I'm still sad that we loss 😪
Where can I purchase this shirt that John is wearing ):
Some memorial shirts with proceeds going to his family would be sweet. Id spend 30-35 for one.
Couldnt find them as well but probably couldnt get them in europe anyway
I miss this guy RIP
Thank God for this man. Rip
Rest in peace, big dog.
