I found that people without child think they have all the answers to child rearing, when in reality their views are idealistic & miss the mark much of the time. They say things like, I wouldn’t allow it but never say how to. They tend not to grasp the depth of parenting a child every minute for years with outside influences.
Question 77: The voting rights act of 1965 did not grant the right to vote to African Americans-the 15th amendment to the US Constitution did that in 1870. The Voting Rights Act provided much needed enforcement against discrimination in voting practices.
Born 1954. 79 correct. Not too bad. Had fun. Would have like more questions on tv shows and movies. I rock those. I especially loved the old cartoons. ❤
if you were born in 1961 you weren't a boomer. Sorry. The baby boom happened after the end of WWII and I missed being one by a year. By 1961 most of the original boomers were in high school and heading for college.
I missed 26 of them and I was born in1952 but for most of the oones I missed was the goverment type questions as I along with most of the other kids were outside playing kick the can or baseball in the street
Question 30 was the one I randomly happened upon with a blind scroll. Multiple choice answer a) decided me to go down the route of laughing my arse off as I returned along Memory Lane to sanity.
Im British and born in 57, so quite a few geographic and sporting questions specific to the US, I had no idea. Of the others remarkably I only couldn't answer 5 (mainly due to what happened in the 40's). The last question, I have no idea. Anyway, bought a lot of memories back. I can still remember The Jetson's opening song! 😂😊
Ford Edsel is a misnomer. Edsel was its own division of Ford. Having its own models. Ranger, Villager 1958-60 Corsair 1958-59.Pacer, Citation, Round Up, Bermuda 1958 only.
he also did a lot of recording work at the now defunct "KING RECORDS" located in CINCINNATI OHIO( 1 block away from ZAVIER UNIVERCITY-------BREWSTER AVE.) the building is still their but empty .there is a push by the city of cincinnati to make it a land mark/ museum.
Correct ...Even though my mum had a baby everytime my dad was home from the Convoys...living in a one bedroom flat with no mod cons..i don't know how she did it ...Bless her heart..
Wuz gonna do this. Q5 stopped me. As a child, I was not privy to the knowledge of which fellow children were destined to become president. Not a fun test. And I LOVE tests. And I wasn’t a returning serviceman 20 yrs my own senior with a yen for progeny. Forget it.
So the magic answer for this person born in 1949 was 89 correct. Not too shabby for this old fart . When I was less than five or six years old, I don’t remember or Care about a lot of this stuff. And a lot of the 1940 things were not taught in elementary school. What was more important…..by the mid 50s we finally got a very first telephone. My uncle John was coming to fix the television so we could watch wonderful world of Disney then we can watch Mickey Mouse Club at noon time. But she was off. We had to watch Search for tomorrow. I have a suggestion make your quizzes 50 questions instead of 100. Bonus question answer is the famous flames.
Too many of the questions have nothing to do with the everyday life of baby boomers--the rate of babies being born, for example. These are questions more typical of someone who read about the period and didn't live in it.
I think you are correct baby boomer generation was 1946 to 1964. Although I have heard some historians say 1945 to 65. I agree because because World War II ended in 1945. Human gestation is usually nine months (unless the baby is premature) or longer if you have to try a lot. Besides when you’re on the six or seven years old who remembers that stuff that happened in the late 40s.
It REALLY was "The ALL NEW Mickey Mouse Club" in 1951 on TV as the PREVIOUS one was only on NBC Radio according to NBC TV archives!!! There were only SIX kids on it in 1955 my older sister and I can remember! The "baby boom" in the US began in 1942 (men leaving pregnant wives) and ended in 1957 (the last Korean War babies) based on ELEMENTARY SKRUL ENROLLMENT!!! I was born in 1953 and my 1971 Graduating Class was the smallest (less than 1000) in 48 years. I ONLY had 51 students in Mrs. Wolfe's First Grade class-the smallest she had in 30+ years with ONLY two First Grade teachers (four classes) instead of THREE teachers and six classes as my 4 year-older sister had, ALL of 60-odd students (supposed to be 63). The largest Public Skrul enrolments in Tulsa, OK. were 1946-1948, so MOST of your "questions" are Bull! The Beatles were ALL "baby boomers" in England where their boom was 1937-1949 with the Anglo-Israeli War and Anglo-Palestine Wars. My sister and I grew-up listening to the RADIO SHOWS, NOT TV!!! The TV stations here in Tulsa were only allowed to broadcast 8 hours daily, and were OFF in the afternoons.
@@elizabetholiviaclark I am a Jones. I don't relate to the boomer vibe at all, and I have 6 boomer siblings. They grew up differently. I was a Brady Bunch girl. They were Bobby Soxers.
Why are all the questions about the Baby Boomers you are asking is about America,America was not the only country that had Baby Boomers,by the questions you are asking I think you believe it was.
Well I'm here to tell you that I'm 71 yrs and there definitely was a Mickey Mouse Club. If you weren't born from the late 40's to early 60's you are not a baby boomer.
Americans think they live in the only country in The World, their lack of education and general knowledge is astounding! I worked with an American who asked me “Where is Arizona” this woman had a Batchelor’s Degree!!!
Or maybe you're just not American enough! LOL. You are assigned 3 choruses of "I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy". Then you can retake the test and I'm sure you will do better. LOL.
Your information on question 20 is incorrect. The first shopping center developed in the United States was the Town & Country shopping Center in Columbus Ohio. 😡
The key word here is "Mall" being a completely enclosed group of stores. The Cherry Hill Mall (Cherry Hill, NJ) was one of the earliest and for years I thought it was the first.
Well, according to Encyclopaedia Britannica family search history channel 4.24 million babies were born between 1946 and 1964. There is such a generation as the baby boomers look it up.
I always found it ironic that DR, spock wrote a book on raising childen when he had none, which also explains why he got so much of it wrong.
😂 My sister followed his book to a T and it irked me to no end. Her son was born in 1980. My goodness that man…😒 It was absolutely bizarre.

He was the precursor of today’s useless parents.
I disagree with Dr. Spock’s ideas. But he did have two children.
@@jameswoffinden9215 so what? That doesn’t make him right.

Unfortunately a few of our rights have had to be reinforced by Legislative actions!
Born 1954. 79 correct. Not too bad. Had fun. Would have like more questions on tv shows and movies. I rock those. I especially loved the old cartoons. ❤
82 correct, born 1957, I love history and enjoy quizzes.

if you were born in 1961 you weren't a boomer. Sorry. The baby boom happened after the end of WWII and I missed being one by a year. By 1961 most of the original boomers were in high school and heading for college.
Your aren't REALLY a Baby Boomer at all!
Awesome !
I missed 26 of them and I was born in1952 but for most of the oones I missed was the goverment type questions as I along with most of the other kids were outside playing kick the can or baseball in the street
I resemble that remark.
#46 The Watergate Hotel. I have never heard of it being referred to as the complex.
That’s because many of the questions are misinformed. I suspect because the writer is a MElineal.
This is the Boomer Memory Lane Quiz for US citizens only.
79 correct born in 63 but not in US so I don’t think I did too bad lol

Thats what I was gonna say! Everything on RUclips is American!! From the UK.
Ford Edsel is a misnomer. Edsel was its own division of Ford. Having its own models. Ranger, Villager 1958-60 Corsair 1958-59.Pacer, Citation, Round Up, Bermuda 1958 only.
Yet the "Edsel" became synonymous with ugly undesirable failure. Were all the models ugly?

I missed 18, not bad, but I did have fun in the 60's.

Actually a boomer is born from 1946 to 1964
That's exactly right! Boomers were born from 1946 to 64. After that they were called generation x
I think those born after 1960 shouldn’t really be classified as Boomers.
NOPE
Fab flames.

Got 91/100 . Born 1844.
75 I only missed 1 of the no multiple choice questions ( I knew the person and blanked on her name[Nancy Sinatra]).
Well done! :)
Yep I am a Boomer
Yeah 👍🏻
Rather parochial, methinks.
Beatlemania was in 1964. Not 1963
Is this an American quiz ?? being a boomer myself , we had no T/V only the radio.. I never heard of the MM club until I was in my teens..

Why are all the questions about the Baby Boomers you are asking is about America,America was not the only country that had Baby Boomers,by the questions you are asking I think you believe it was.
That’s why when Americans are questioned, they appear dumb, because America behaves as though it’s the only Country in the world.
Totally agree with you, 1st question.. never heard of mickey mouse club when i was a kiddie, know now but not the point.

Its came out now that Nixon did not know of watergate
First off, the 50s and 60s were not the baby boomers.
People born from 1946-1964 are considered boomers by most measures.
Uh…yes…they were.
Correct, I say the same thing, lol@@mayorb3366
I missed it by one year. 1965. I’m not a boomer but anyone born from 46-64 are considered to be. 🤷🏼♀️ I don’t remember being interested though. XD
