सलेम का पहला शिकार: अबु सलेम ने अपना पहला शिकार मुंबई के बिल्डर प्रदीप जैन थे. प्रदीप के भाई से सलेम ने कोलडोंगरी की प्रॉपर्टी छोड़ने या जान से हाथ धोने की धमकी दी. सलेम की धमकी को सीरियसली न लेना प्रदीप को महंगा पड़ा. 7 मार्च 1995 को सलेम के शूटर सलीम हड्डी ने प्रदीप जैन के दफ्तर में घुसकर गोली मार दी. लेकिन कहानी यहीं खत्म नहीं होती है. प्रदीप की तेरहवीं वाले दिन सलेम प्रदीप की पत्नी ज्योति को फोन कर कहता है, 'क्या तुम्हें विधवा होने का सुख मिल रहा है. अगर प्रदीप ने पैसे दिए होते तो वो जिंदा होता. प्रदीप के भाइयों से कहो, पैसे दें, वरना सबको मार दूंगा
1993 के मुंबई बम धमाकों के दोषी अबू सलेम को टाडा कोर्ट ने गुरुवार को उम्रकैद की सजा सुनाई है. और साथ ही 2 लाख का जुर्माना भी लगा है. भले ही 24 साल बाद अब जाकर अबू सलेम के गुनाहों की सजा का ऐलान हुआ हो. लेकिन सलेम की कहानी शुरू होती है साल 1985 से, जब वो रोजगार के लिए मुंबई आया था.
जानकारों के मुताबिक अबू सलेम का परिवार उत्तर प्रदेश के आजमगढ़ जिले में सरायमीर का है. उनके पिता अब्दुल कय्यूम अंसारी पेशे से एक वकील थे.
उनके चार बेटे और तीन बेटियां थीं. उनकी मौत के बाद परिवार को बेहद ग़रीबी के दिन देखने पड़े. ऐसे में उनकी मां ने छोटा-मोटा काम कर परिवार को पाला.
अब्दुल कय्यूम अंसारी सरायमीर से नज़दीकी शहरों की कोर्ट में मुकदमों के लिए जाया करते थे. एक बार वो अपनी राजदूत मोटरसाइकल में जाते वक्त एक दुर्घटना का शिकार हो गए. मौक़े पर ही उनकी मौत हो गई. अबू सलेम को उनके चाचा ने पाल पोस कर बड़ा किया.
हुसैन ज़ैदी बताते हैं, "बड़ा होने के बाद अबू सलेम काम की तलाश में दिल्ली आ गए जहां उन्होंने कुछ वक्त कर बाइक रिपेयरिंग का काम किया. लेकिन वहां कुछ बात नहीं बनी तो वो बीस-बाइस साल की उम्र में बंबई आ गए."
ज़ैदी के मुताबिक उस समय 1990 के दौर में बंबई के जोगेश्वरी में अराशा शॉपिंग सेंटर जो एक छोटा सा मॉल था, वहां एक दुकान थी. वहां स्टॉल पर बैठ कर अबू सलेम फैशन का सामान, बेल्ट और इस तरह की अन्य चीज़ें बेचते थे.
1980-1990 का माहौल ऐसा था कि हर कोई भाई बनना चाहता था. कईयों के लिए दाऊद इब्राहीम रोल मॉडल बन चुका था और वो उनकी तरह बनना चाहते थे.मॉल में भी उस तरह के लोग आते थे जो अपनी भाईगिरी दिखाते थे और अबू सलेम उनसे काफी प्रभावित हो गए थे.बाइस-तेईस की कमसीन उम्र के अबू सलेम की आंखों में भी सपने पलने लगे थे कि वो भी भाईगिरी करें और लोग उनसे खौफ़ज़दा हों.
Abu Salem and his then-girlfriend, Monica Bedi, were arrested by Interpol. The duo had entered the country on forged documents and were extradited to India in November 2005. Along with Abu, Monica spent four years in prison, two of which were in Portugal.
Abu claimed that he and Monica got married in a mosque in Los Angeles in November 2000, although she has denied the same. Here are 10 things you need to know about Abu Salem's former partner:
1. Monica was born in Chabbewal, a small town in the district of Hoshiarpur, Punjab in 1975. Shortly afterwards, her parents moved to Norway, where Monica spent 16 years of her life.
2. Monica loved dancing, and during one of her visits to India at the age of 20, she decided to stay back to learn Kathak. It was in her dance class that she met veteran actor Manoj Kumar, who offered her a film opposite his son, Kunal. The film never took off, but her acting career did.
3. Growing up, Monica was a huge fan of Sridevi. She told Filmfare in an interview that she would happily clean her brother's room as a child because he promised her VCDs of Sridevi and Jeetendra films in return.

They have faced jail time for certain unlawful and negligent activities. Yes, Abu Salem is a gangster and has links to terrorists. I have studied terrorists and their activities for many years now. They are far more cruel and cold-blooded than people like Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt. Terrorism and terrorists are against the entire country while gangsters target specific individuals. The narrator of this video is a well-respected crime reporter and so he has to use specific words keeping in mind the specific crimes proven in our honourable courts. He can't get emotional like the common man and use whatever words that come up to his mouth or else he will have to face the consequences of defaming a person. That is one of the duties of a respected journalist and reporter. Hope you understand his responsibilities and limitations while discussing stories involving real people and various legal aspects associated with them.
@@un-karnish2967 I am glad that you have studied terrorism..I am just putting the exact definition of terrorism I know as per my limited knowledge- " Terrorism is the calculated use of violence (or the threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear...So if you say Salman and Sanjay Dutt were negligent in their acts and naive but not Terrorist or Abu Salem was just a gangster having links to terrorists(we can't call him terrorist)..then perhaps Afzal Guru and Dawood were gangsters or anti social elements of I go with reporter's depiction...Also I am fan of Shams from my childhood but as a senior reporter you should not be hesitant to address Abu salem terrorist as The Supreme Court of India has addressed and punished him for the same
