Marvel must be very desperate with this new X-Men Relaunch. They know that the latest Era ruined the franchise and now are trying hard in to sell these new crappy books. Exceptional X-Men will be a huge failure. These new mutants will forgotten very quickly once this book ends. And no way Kitty can be a role model for these childrens anymore after become a mass murderer in Fall of X. She should be so depressed and disgusted with herself for what becomed that would wanna answer for all these deaths and seek a path of atonement. This new role makes zero sense for the character in my opinion.
They won't do it... but what they need to do is streamline the x-titles to 1-2 core books and just focus on writing good stories. No mini-series, no spin-off books, no side-hustles to con fans into spending their $$$. But as small as they might be, removing x-books shrinks the franchise revenue streams meaning they must continue to target quantity and not quanlity.... 10 x-books a month... and zero good stories.

I’ll sound like a old man…lol back in my day new mutants and generation x were the only books that had new characters. Uncanny X-Men and X-Men were the core members. I am so lost when I hear the current state of the books. We don’t have a comic book store in town anymore, but we have a comic con once a year…coming up in August. In 90s i was keeping up with Xmen, UXM, XFactor, Excalibur, XForce, GenX/NM... even then it felt like a strretch, outside of the main Xmen and UXM titles the "importance" of Xfactor had filtered out with the original 5 moving back to Xmen and XForce was Cables thing (not yet a covert ops part of the team made popular in 00s)... anyway... the only reason to produce 10 x-books a month is to fleece the fans.

Free month subscription, or free add-ons with full purchase, the try before you buy method is never a viable long term scalable sales strategy. It screams of desperation: "please please please try my new thing out your going to love it Im sure please please please".

Cyclops led team books always sell, I'm not worried about X-Men not selling, even though I didn't like the book that much. UXM and the Wolverine solo will also be safe but it's all these other titles that have me worried.
Take note of the NYX cover. Not only does it look badly drawn, your group of heroes is in a static, boring pose. Although, I suppose the ice cream is in danger of dripping. Selling as "samples" at $1
Damian comes into my mind. He is still disliked by many Batman fans.They pushed him into most antimated movies, Injustice 1/2, in many Batman comics since the New 52. It's alarming when Batman fans make fun of your character/ hate your character and some of the yt shorts and tiktoks get million of likes (Even Hellboy in Injustice 2 can't stand Damian for exmaple). Even the r/batman makes fun about him for get beaten up by the Batfamily members. The Batman editorial should realise that this character is not beloved.

At my office supply store, a regular customer cut to the front of my line insisting I "fix her up with FREE stuff." I should have directed her to Marvel Comics.
I've been waiting for this! Sucks for those comic shops that are stuck with the extra copies. You couldn't pay me to take a copy home. I would throw it in teh trash once I'm far away from the LCS. These "new" heroes lack originality. Their powers are similar to most X-Men characters that exist long enough for me to say their names when you mention what theirpower(s) was/were. And seeing Wes with a mohawk is something I wasn't expecting before I click the video.
My Hero Academia totally blows this X-Men crap away, both in storytelling and in art. Marvel should make their new characters invisible and intangible permanently.
That will NEVER happen as 1) MHA is ending in 1 chapter as of this week, and 2) NO, Marvel's characters will never be invisible as EVERYONE and their grandma knows WHO their characters are and will continue to read or watch them in whatever medium!

I miss when writers had an interest in science. Warren Ellis, Alan Moore et al were able to come up with cool new powers, or at the very least, interesting variations/implementations of power sets. I'm thinking of the character in Ellis' Planetary who had a 'Physics Distortion Field'. Stuff like that. There's no wow factor with these characters powers, or their visual design. But that's the issue isn't it? The wow factor is supposed to be their race, gender, and sexual orientation. Normal people who don't care about that stuff are left scratching their heads wondering what's the big deal?
I'm reading Classic New Mutants at the moment and these New Characters are definitely a far cry from those now Classic characters. I mean Dani and Xian were already dealing with their powers but the others were just discovering theirs and dealing with the fallout from their manifestation. They had interesting personalities, they came from all walks of life. Those 3 new characters you showed us are generic as fug not to mection redundant as you said. Of course they will be activists, because that who writes them. Claremont and Co. Loved comics, loved the heroes they read and respected them, and had interesting ideas for them going forward and interesting ideas for new characters, and it all came from their love for what came before. This crowd? The love only themselves and their causes, everything the do is for the cause, every character they create is a mask for their ideology and it's painfully boring.

@@rocketraccoon1976 Empath was mentally as well as his mutant power pretty unstable. He had problems turning it on and off. So it made it hard for him to know if someone truly liked him or not. Magma felt she liked him but it was more out of sympathy. And Empath used his powers to amplify her sympathy. His teammates protected him because Empath power could turn a fight in their favor. And it was good for gathering intel without exposing themselves. Plus Emma ( The White Queen) cared for all her Hellions. Even still Empath was a scumbag. He used his powers even on his teammates.
Why didn't they just reboot gen x....placing new and old characters in the series.... instead it's a all new and unimagtive unliked unestablished group of unhinged characters who should be hellions not X-Men ...

Marvel started this current overship plan with Blood Hunt#1, which made sense because it came out the week of FCBD and had a FCBD issue, and was helpful at my shop because Pepe Larraz art makes an easy impulse buy. I am doubtful that these new choices will pay off as well.
I agree with your theory on how we got an excess of NYX. But this promotional tactic needs to stay. Every time there is a #1 from Marvel and DC, retailers should get additional free comics. Maybe at a 4:1 rate. Or even a single extra issue per store. They could even do bonus Batman/Spider-Man to alleviate shops. Give them an automatic 5 free issues of guaranteed sellers to make-up for the guesswork shops do on a weekly basis. Hope somebody at the big 2 is reading this.
The right mentor for somebody with intangibility and invulnerability would be X-23 as she has years of experience in facing someone with that power set. PS: Somehow I would actually like to see Omega Red having to mentor a bunch of terrible new mutants … with the obvious end of him murdering most of them.
I miss back in the day during the first run of Generation X it seemed like these kids had some pretty limited use powers that became stronger the more experience they gained. My example would be Skin, who pretty much developed a similar skin tendril technique to Bronze with the limitation that he wasn't metal. It's too bad that they never continued his story much after the cancellation of that title. He went from having sagging, barely controlled skin, to being the team stretchy guy, to finally being able to form spikes and whips with his skin. Nowadays new mutant characters are just way more powerful than even experienced X-Men. It's like why even tell stories anymore? Just come up with shiny awesome new characters and slap them on merch or make them into video game skins for Fortnite. These comics are just unreadable.

Emma and Kate where both teachers of young Mutants with their powers and only give three young Mutants to train them with using there powers i think it says Marvel fans look they can't teach but a handle full of Mutants at a time . That X Men should have Emma and Kate focusing on 6 to 7 students not just 3 .i think Emma and Kate should have been on others teams to start this so called new era then about like 6 to 9 months later the team they are on finds a bunch of young Mutants then tell that team they where on that they would be leaving the team to train the young Mutants in that way i can see them training just 3 if the just found 3 at that time i would be ok with but get only 3 off the bat to me it's a bad joke to their characters

Bronze is a color of makeup, usually foundation, and Bronze is a boy just learning how to become the "real version" of self by transforming. Melee is the womyn that loves womyn, but unlike all these pretty lipstick lez X-characters the male gaze likes, Melee is big and tough, aggressive and not pretty. And Mr. Sensitive? What, you need an explanation for an 80s cliche of a guy with all the feels? Nope, this is the Marvel editors and 'creatives' defying their instructions to stop.
Unless they lower the price tag or change all the traced over artwork within the issue, no one will buy it. The controversy has gotten so big that most of the remaining readers know about it and won't support the Phoenix run or first book.

@@rocketraccoon1976 Empath was mentally as well as his mutant power pretty unstable. He had problems turning it on and off. So it made it hard for him to know if someone truly liked him or not. Magma felt she liked him but it was more out of sympathy. And Empath used his powers to amplify her sympathy.
His teammates protected him because Empath power could turn a fight in their favor. And it was good for gathering intel without exposing themselves. Plus Emma ( The White Queen) cared for all her Hellions.
Even still Empath was a scumbag. He used his powers even on his teammates.
Too bad there's not enough talented writers who even want to work for them

Why didn't they just reboot gen x....placing new and old characters in the series.... instead it's a all new and unimagtive unliked unestablished group of unhinged characters who should be hellions not X-Men ...

Marvel started this current overship plan with Blood Hunt#1, which made sense because it came out the week of FCBD and had a FCBD issue, and was helpful at my shop because Pepe Larraz art makes an easy impulse buy.
I am doubtful that these new choices will pay off as well.

I agree with your theory on how we got an excess of NYX. But this promotional tactic needs to stay. Every time there is a #1 from Marvel and DC, retailers should get additional free comics. Maybe at a 4:1 rate. Or even a single extra issue per store. They could even do bonus Batman/Spider-Man to alleviate shops. Give them an automatic 5 free issues of guaranteed sellers to make-up for the guesswork shops do on a weekly basis. Hope somebody at the big 2 is reading this.

PS: Somehow I would actually like to see Omega Red having to mentor a bunch of terrible new mutants … with the obvious end of him murdering most of them.
I miss back in the day during the first run of Generation X it seemed like these kids had some pretty limited use powers that became stronger the more experience they gained. My example would be Skin, who pretty much developed a similar skin tendril technique to Bronze with the limitation that he wasn't metal. It's too bad that they never continued his story much after the cancellation of that title. He went from having sagging, barely controlled skin, to being the team stretchy guy, to finally being able to form spikes and whips with his skin. Nowadays new mutant characters are just way more powerful than even experienced X-Men. It's like why even tell stories anymore? Just come up with shiny awesome new characters and slap them on merch or make them into video game skins for Fortnite. These comics are just unreadable.

Emma and Kate where both teachers of young Mutants with their powers and only give three young Mutants to train them with using there powers i think it says Marvel fans look they can't teach but a handle full of Mutants at a time . That X Men should have Emma and Kate focusing on 6 to 7 students not just 3 .i think Emma and Kate should have been on others teams to start this so called new era then about like 6 to 9 months later the team they are on finds a bunch of young Mutants then tell that team they where on that they would be leaving the team to train the young Mutants in that way i can see them training just 3 if the just found 3 at that time i would be ok with but get only 3 off the bat to me it's a bad joke to their characters
The only good thing about these comics is Gambit's new costume, it works to change it up a bit but not abandon the classic look entirely.
Sadly, it's very likely that Remy will die in the first issues of Uncanny from that description we had of the first three : We won't see that new outfit much.

It might be an extrapolation but Gambit would be an adequate fit for that death.

Just by reading the descriptions alone, I have to ask why would you green-light this for a superhero comic? These characters have such a lame first impression and I don't even know what the story is yet. I'm sure it'll lack nuisance and quality just like the rest, though.

About the '97 cartoon, I am optimistic about it even though they kicked an important writer off it, still if it continues like usual, one, ONE media for X-men cannot sustain it's greatness. It needs to be good on multiple areas or phenomenol in one, neither seems to be the case.
Marvel Comics still has to SPEND MONEY to print and to ship books. The policy of overshipping to artificially inflate sales figures, is STUPID.
