chemicals = gloves, hope to see more of your work next year. xxx
So I use them to work with solvents.
But who knew that laundry detergent is more aggressive than turpentine. I have used powders for hand washing sails all my life, but this is the first time I have had such a reaction on my skin...
Ohla et son excellent travail ....Le top ...., elle devrait monter une petite école pour faire un formation aux apprentis maquettistes ...Super ....
Merci!
👏👏👏
The breadth of your skill set is quite admirable. This project has been fascinating to follow. Merry Christmas Olha.
Happy holidays!
My favourite part of the build the sails and rigging, thank you for bringing us along. Merry Christmas to you ,Kroum and Imbir and all the best for the New Year
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too!
very NICE !!!
Thank you!
Happy holidays! The sails looks excellent! Be carful to your hands, they are invaluable for you! You should wear some kind of (clinical) gloves. I do, when working with paint and terpentine. Otherwise, my skin reacts painfully as well.
Thank you!
Happy Holidays!
The rotary cutter seems to work well to cut the fabric and avoid pulling on the fibers with an X-acto. I should get one ))) Great work and fascinating to watch you work!! With the previous video you make me realize the importance of David Steel's volumes, I still need two... Take care of yourself and watch your hands!
Thank you so much! It's always good to hear you find my videos interesting and helpful!
WOW! That was awesome! You do such a nice job on the sails and so many of them! OMG! lol
Sorry you burned your hands on the detergent. : ( What kind of soap was it?
The home depot in Massachusetts sells Turpentine in 1qt containers for $10.00. Klean strip brand.
It's so fascinating to watch you work and the video quality is first rate!
Thank you for taking the time to share. : )
Happy New Year! 🥂
Thank you for the info!
I visit Boston very often, and now I know where to find this solvent)))
How old is your machine? It looks like a wonderful all metal Singer. Thanks for sharing your process. As I'm a sewist, I really enjoyed this video about the sails. Have a wonderful New Year!
It's metal, but the base is plastic. I really like this one. I have older ones in Kyiv with a wooden base...
👍👍👍👍👍🤩😍🎄🎅😺
Amazing. Maybe get more used to gloves? I know i try to.
I must have missed it, I presume you were using a single, seam, stitch for most of this, yes? What "pitch" of machine stitch did you use? Any temptation to use any of the multiple-stitch settings on the machine?
I use the shortest possible stitch length. Unfortunately in model making you physically cannot use multi-needle due to the sewing order...
Thats the same with any job you do not get paid for what you do or know only by the amount of skin you loose.(tongue in cheek)
