It's been maybe 4-5 years since I first watched this video and it really inspired me to go and check it out for myself all those years ago. Nowadays I ride if often along there whenever I can, I have even wild camped along the river bank near Woodhall Spa. The only bit I hate about this route is the road section into Tattershall - I regularly avoid going there. Watching this video today it's interesting to see how the river level should normally look! This Autumn/Winter the River Witham looks like a lot like I would imagine the Amazon to be!
What i dont understand is if anyone wants to start at woodall Spa, there aren't any signs from the town to where the trail actually starts i had to ask 5 people before i found a guy who actually knew where the starting point was! Lincolnshire council or sustrans really need to up there game with signage
My sister lived Caulton bungalow a converted primitive Wesleyan chapel hence Chapel Hill I Believe this now much updated and can be rented There are two or three other churches/chapels in the the village also and good fishing on riverbank plus a carp pond I think and just along the bank is the disused Sleaford Canal with jammed lock gates
Hi guys, I've watched a few of your videos. I recently got back into cycling after a couple of years out and did my first longish ride, A lap of Rutland water reservoir. Can I suggest you make a video there. It's a lovely location, has cafes 2 bike shops and a pub along the way. It's about 25 miles including the central peninsula in the middle. I think you will enjoy it. Cheers
Hi Gary, thanks for the suggestion it is a great ride around Rutland Water, we did it last in March 2017. We really enjoyed the ride and I did record it at the time but it has not got the front of the editing queue yet. Finding time to do everything I want to is difficult, however we are still recording the rides we do so they are gradually building up. So when editing mode is up and running again we should have a lot of material to release. Cheers for taking the time to suggest a new route, keep up the cycling! Steve
Hi there. Great video. Would you say that the Water Rail Way from Lincoln to Tattershall Castle would be suitable for road bikes? Is it tarmac all the way along? Cheers
Much of the route is well surfaced and can be ridden on a road bike. Around Bardney, there is a route option, the summer version is through a field, We rode over that field on 30mm tyres on our way to Boston riding our GT Grades, without issue. The all-weather road option is great if you have thin tyres or the weather has been extremely wet. Thanks. Steve. www.visitlincoln.com/media/downloads/Water_Rail_Way_Leaflet_and_Map.pdf
Hi Ryan, the next ride we have "penciled" in is "The South Downs way", which is in May next year, over the winter period our riding is sporadic at best.
Nice one, I am hoping to cycle from London to Hull / York later on this summer and this would be part of the route I would do. Nice video, seems like you've put a lot of effort into it. What camera do you record with out of interest? cheers Rob.
Thanks for the feedback RobCyclist, good luck on your ride, let us know how it goes when you undertake it. On the subject of the cameras, we use Sony action cams for filming the rides, As100v & AS30v. Cheers Steve
Please please switch off the tinny repetitive background "music" on your videos. It is so distracting and annoying. The only way I can watch them is with the sound off.

Where do you start off and is there somewhere to park?
Sorry I missed this one. As mentioned in the description you can park at the Rowing Center, Spa Road, Lincoln LN2 5. Hope this helps Steve
TatterSHALL not Tattersall. Does bug me as a local when people pronounce it wrong 😂
We have the same problem with Penistone shorturl.at/fY057
