Next thing you know the mists replaced with a cloud of red tracers from all over and madder than hell monstrosities with chainsaws for arms are charging you down and the screams of robotic chants are drowning out your gunfire and a jet pack bot is hurtling down at you and you can't shoot it now because it's explosive and too close then the forests gone in a cloud of smoke and fire where you squadmate called in a desperate eagle strike and you're saved by pure chance as the explosion blows you back out of reach from the saws and you've barely survived just to see the red smoke in the distance of the base you have to assault now. Bots don't play man.

I am super new to the game and the bugs are nothing compared to the bots. I am a noob and have gotten up to hard difficulty with bugs solo (not much, I know) but the bots.......*shudder*

I played a "Trivial" bot mission solo and literally couldn't complete it lmao it's unreal how many fucking bot drops happen the entire time you're there
Once in malvelon creek I was in a hulk elimination mission with a squad of 4, we were breezing in hard mode until we arrived at the hard outpost, there were 3 hulks and what makes it crazier is they were not the targets, they were random hulks altogether in the outpost, we got steamrolled from 20 to 0 reinforcements, automatons change people
HQ commander: Assuming that an Assault Rifle can fire 750 bullets per minute and a Hell diver has a 50% hit rate, if it gonna take three bullets can kill one enemy, then one Hell Diver can kill 125 enemies per minute, and 4 Hell Diver can kill 500 enemies per minute, then give them an hour and they can kill 30,000 enemies. That should be enough.

I bought the game with 0 and I mean literally 0 prior knowledge, I just heard it is good. So when I went in a few days ago, thinking "Hey, automatons sounds fun. Let's go fight them!", I was in for a rude awakening. I got my ass handed to me HARD on those civvie rescue missions. I literally grew up in hell, fighting tooth and nail. "Normal" missions feel like a walk in the park now. I fought the bugs a few times and while it was decidedly easier, I know that shit hits the fan on higher difficulties too. I look forward to serving Liberty and Democracy.
I can confidently play a terminids match on helldive difficulty but when it comes to automatons on helldive difficulty I literally have to mentally prepare myself for hell lol
If there's one thing Malevelon taught me. It's that you can only outrun the bots, move from objective to objective and do not get pinned. I've completed 20 solo dives, it's been hell but I'll have an autocannon soon. After that? Well I'd reckon it's time for a 21st dive.
I don't know how exactly this game captures the feeling of being in a war movie (the real ones), but god damn it does. Far better than games like battlefront or cod ever have

Recently got the game and I've basically only been playing automatons since lvl 1 (there was a major order for defence so I thought might as well). These bots are a fusion of both terminators and the adeptus mechanicus (WH 40k), and although tough at times, I've grown fond of my scrap heads.
For future reference for other Helldivers, you can kill bot spawners with the autocannon by bouncing the shell off the top inside part of the vent. Saves your grenades for bigger swarms instead.
I was on melavaon creek level 5 and my fellow helldivers either disconnected or got kicked from the match. Had to finish the last objective and extract solo. Fucking brutal as I'm currently only level 14. Space vietnam is a fitting name for it.

The first time I dropped on the Creek was right after launch. Matchmaking was still bad so I decided to drop in solo, hard difficulty, at night. I had a hit or two of a vape so I was feeling nice and immersed with my headphones in. Let me tell you something. After fighting bugs for so long, the Creek felt like a legitimate horror game. Seeing the factories glowing and smoking in the distance, hearing their binary chants when patrol passes. And then seeing a Hulk for the first time and get completely demolished when there were two bot drops on top of him..I was not prepared for the hell the bots brought on me. But goddamn do I love putting down bots more than bugs now.
The first time me and my boys got on Malevelon we lost our lives so quick and we’re just barely bringing each other back. The pure chaos is literally robot Vietnam. S/o the voice actors. We felt the fear in their voices and it only magnified how fucked we were lol

Make sure youre perpendicular to the vents and aim for the center of the flap. You can get them at an angle but not by much.
