I was smiling the whole time you were talking about beauty stuff. It was just a pleasant surprise. I enjoy hearing more about you and rounding out your personality in my mind because you are such a kind wholesome person. Thank you for sharing about yourself. You are inspiring.
A bookstore in my town is unfortunately permanently closing so they have a 50% off. So here’s what I got from there: - Hunger by Knut Hamsun - The Canterville Ghost by Oscar Wilde - Beer in the Snooker Club by Waguih Ghali - A collection of short stories by Susan Sontag - And Paris Spleen by Baudelaire About beauty products, I LOVE them too! In fact it would’ve be fun if you showed us what eyeshadows u have in this video! More of that kinda content here and there would be nice haha. My fav lip glosses are the Dior lip maximizer and Charlotte Tilbury’s lip gloss in the shade walk of no shame.
A little gem of a book is a medieval novella, “The Song of Roland.” It’s a medieval war between the Christians and Islam. It’s a historical battle and it’s beautifully written, originally published around 1100. I just love reading about people and perspective from that period.
Once and Future King is the story (series) of King Arthur. The first book is what the Disney animation Sword in the Stone is based on. It is one of my childhood favourites, so I hope you enjoy it too! What a great gift to receive! Happy reading! :)
Knowing you love reading about nature , youre going to fall in love with Prousts writting , its a slow paced comforting read , i pick it up whenever i want to be transferred to a warm green scenery ))
I’m not a big lip product person, but I also love peppermint lip balm. I’ve been using the original Burt’s Bees balm since high school, but I also like the Dr. Bronners peppermint balm.
I was gifted a newer version of Kindle for Christmas and I've been buying several books for it while watching your videos. I started the New Year reading "Sense & Sensibility" because I loved the movie versions (1995/2008) but I actually got bored with the book so I've laid it aside. Because of you I'm now reading Great Expectations after watching the movie version. I love haul videos. I'm not a bit surprised that you love makeup after all I consider it a form of art hence the title 'makeup artist'. 😊
I’m so glad you like the scarf and bookmarks!! Lovely video ☺️ 1. Just bought my first Backman which I’m so excited about 2. Fave lip product is INNBeauty Project’s Glaze Lip Oil #7 (cookie)! It’s a gorgeous nude color (vegan & cruelty free!) and yes, it smells like baked cookies 🫠
I love the Romand (Korean brand) Glasting Water Tint in #5 Rose Splash! the texture is so nice because it goes on like a regular lip tint but the effect is like a tint with clear gloss on top.
My favourite is Elizabeth Arden 8 hour ..the stick the tube is ok too. Works really well on chapped lips. I get rashy lips when something I ate had potato in it.
I can identify with your comments about bookstores. Where I live it is a virtual bookstore desert, although at least there is a local library nearby. Really enjoy your videos. Thanks.
Hi Adriana! 1. I completely agree. Ooo so exciting! Indeed ;) 2. YES, he's the best! I've hoping to read The Graveyard Book very soon!!! 3. I've actually never tried Carmex. I'll have to change that. Loved the speech :) I hope you're having a beautiful day too!
This was so fun! Books, art supplies, and lip balm are my favorites too lol. Also, love the Goldfaber pencils! They’re really good quality affordable colored pencils. Think they’ve only been around for a couple of years.
I actually went to the library this week and picked up The Little Prince (thanks to your obsession!) and The Old Man and the Sea for $1 from their bookstore :) I’m excited to add some short books to my 2023 reading list 🤓📖
Swann's Way reminds me of War and Peace in certain ways--they are both intimidating, but once you get into it, it just flows. Proust is like reading a daydream if that makes sense. Makeup tips would be great...I'd love to learn more about natural beauty looks.
i want to read proust this year too and treated myself to the modern library set! :)) it's intimidating for sure, but i feel like reading in search of lost time is kind of a meta experience as he talks about the subconcious and memory being triggered by external things.. so when you read his stream of consciousness you too kind of wander from the text into your own mind and then come back to it, and ultimately get to know his story as much as your own. I really recommend the proust series by Leaf by Leaf here on YT for a guide to each book too! i love lipsticks so here are my favs: revlon's rum raisin, elf's lip stains, romnd juicy lasting lip tints and gloss, fenty beauty's gloss bomb and chanel's rouge allure lipsticks
Loved this video Carolyn! So fun! I didn't know those pens came in brown - I'll have to check my local Michael's. Journaling with it would be fun - it will give the pages an antique/vintage look...love it!! I made a birthday book list for myself - never done that before. I'll be making a special trip to Barnes and Nobel and see if I can get a few books from my list. Here are the ones I will be looking for: -Legends and Lattes -Entitled (the entire novel is from a book's perspective!) -The Priory of the Orange Tree -Babel -Anxious People -The School for Good Mothers -All's Well -The Messy Lives of Book People -Our Wives Under the Sea -The Sun Also Rises Lip product recommendation: Burt's Bees lipsticks I have one in the shade of Blush Basin #501 - it's sort of a nude mauve/pinkish shade. I think you would like it - very natural looking. Thanks for sharing your book, art, and beauty hauls with us!!
My favourite lip product is probably my mac lip liner in dark brown. It single handedly has made so many lip colours work for my skintone. It also often makes my lips look more glamerous when I wear heavier makeup. I do also love my clarins lip oil in cherry as that is my go to on an everyday basis.
When it comes to lip products I am also a sucker for them. The fenty gloss bombs are beautiful, my favourite is the original in fenty glow I think it’s wonderfully universal. Lip balms I love the nuxe reve de miel, it’s used by a lot of French models, I use the pot but I’ve heard good things about the stick formula as well. It dries down matte while still keeping your lips moist and it’s perfect to wear to bed to wake up with soft lips
I'm so glad you feel the same about lip products! I've been wanting to try the Fenty glow, you've convinced me hahaha I've actually never heard of that one. I'll have to look into it :) Thank you for sharing!!
I can’t lie, I saw the title and thought “oh, I wonder what kind of makeup she likes” I also LOVE lip products, it is my Achilles heel! I almost bought the Fenty lip balm! It comes in a white/cream tube. It felt so nice, but had to practice self control. My favorite lip products right now are the Maybelline Vinyl Ink liquid lipsticks & I also love Nars Afterglow lip balm in Fast Lane!
I love mysteries and right now I’m reading 4:50 From Paddington by Agatha Christie. I do love books and have a lot on my to be read shelf, mostly mystery and nature books. I also have collected children’s books for over 30 years, ever since my first born. I do feel I need to downsize a bit, donate, but it’s so hard to decide what to give up. As for dry lips, that drives me crazy, it’s so uncomfortable; I’ve finally found something that works for me, it’s Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask Intense Hydration. I buy it at Sephora. I use it day and night. Stay well. Hugs, Joy
Recent book purchase was War and Peace over the holidays! I got the same Oxford Classics Maude translation you read :) I'm almost exclusively a library girl, but I felt it would be too much pressure to read something that long from the library and keep having to renew it every few weeks. My favorite lip product is boring...I like Pretty Frank's lip balm in the jasmine mint scent. But my second favorite lip product is a UOMA lip gloss ('boss gloss' lol) in the color 'zero fk' 😂 When I'm feeling moody it is the perfect gothic babe color and it always cheers me up.
I’m like 45% through the eighth life and am loving it! I really think you will too❤ it’s quite heavy at times but I love analyzing the characters and seeing the time period be contextualized like this
What a lovely haul! I thought of you this morning when the Marcus Aurelius Meditations appeared as a Kindle Daily Deal here in the UK. I bought it :-) I also have that Russian novel in the Kindle version, but I haven't got to it yet.
I love vlogs and a book haul as well, it can't get better than that! You could always do your makeup while talking about books, like a book Q&A while you get ready. My favourite lip product currently is Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask (mine is in vanilla), it's now a staple in my skincare routine.
I've been binge watching your videos since the new year NONSTOP 🤭🤭 I'm reading A Farewell To Arms and I'm hoping to keep up with Game of Tomes the entire year * crossing my fingers * And my favorite lip product has to be Mac Please Me 💗
That's so sweet! Thank you!! I'm so glad you'll be joining us for Game of Tomes!!! Ooo I love Mac, but I haven't tried Please Me...I'll have to change that :p
Carolyn, how i love this video! You got amazing new books! Oh! This edition of Alice is stunning! The Jane Eyre scarf is gorgeous! I'd like go shopping with you someday! Love from Rio de Janeiro! 💖✨✨
I've found that the best lip balm for actual lip care is just regular Aquaphor (not their lip balm, the OG one)! BUT if you like banana flavored stuff like I do (think banana runts) the Pillow Balm in Banana Kiss (I've heard good things about their other flavors too, just can't personally vouch for them) from Too Faced is LOVELY! A bit sticky at first though so be aware if you aren't a fan. Also I love beauty stuff! My RUclips front page is all books & beauty 🤣
I love reading Nino Haratishwilli. I'm currently reading her 3rd book ( but I'm reading it in Dutch, as I am Belgian 😊, so I don't know the English tittle). Love the Fenty Beauty lip products too...
You are so pretty of course we want beauty content from you. About Proust, I couldn't get into reading it so easily but when I did it was worth it because it's the most beautiful prose I've ever read. Bye 🤗
Love these chill and laid-back vlogs! I too am trying really hard to start the year right and not buy too many books when I already have so any unread books - but I did cave and buy The Sunset Limited by Cormac McCarthy =| it's a play centering on themes of morality and reconciliation of opposing worldviews. I am reading War and Peace atm and loving the Pierre/Andrei debate about what it means to live a good life, so I am hoping The Sunset Limited will be an expansion of that kind of dialogue. My friends and I used to be obsessed with exploring new lip products; I think my favorites have to be Charlotte Tilbury for lipsticks and this Korean brand called romand (it's mid-tier I'd say) for lip tints/glosses. The latter is so comfortable and long-lasting but never dehydrating. Would highly recommend if you ever want to venture into non-Western brands!
I had some gift cards and birthday money to spend, so this month I picked up 4 new books: David Copperfield by Charles Dickens (for Game of Tomes) Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie Tales from the Perilous Realm by J. R. R. Tolkien Love's Labor's Lost by William Shakespeare
I just started wearing Fenty Beauty's Gloss Bomb in Fussy and I love it! I was impressed. It's my after-work pick me up, it's so fun to wear. I'll have to try these glosses as well :) Feel free to share more! I sometimes get overwhelmed by the options and since they're a bit pricier I don't want to spend the money then be disappointed.
Loved the beauty content in this video - I was sooo happy to hear that you love lip products bc I am also a lip-product lover. I have chronically dry lips so my favorite product is the cerave moisturizing cream with the vaseline lip therapy layered overtop it. Also the clear lipgloss from citygirls is my absolute favorite. As for recent book purchases, I went thrifting recently and got the first book in the outlander series, the old man and the sea by Ernest Hemingway, cannery row by john Steinbeck, and some medical books.
I'm so glad you love lip products too (they're the best) hahaha You really can't go wrong with anything from Cerave or Vaseline :) I've never heard of the citygirls lopgloss. I'll have to check it out! Ooo the Outlander books are great! (I also recommend watching the show after, if you haven't already) Ugh Hemingway holds my heart! I haven't read Cannery Row, but I've heard great things! Happy reading :)
Wow your library’s bookshop is huge. Mine is the size for 3 people browsing max. Since you mentioned beauty, I always wonder what product you use in your hair. My daughters have the same curls and I’ve tried what seems like hundreds of products to get them defined nice curls like yours.
Hello, today, I got 'A tale of two cities' by Charles Dickens + [the black hard cover] of 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' by Oscar Wilde- my third copy, its my favorite book, and 'Frankenstein' by Mary Shelly. Than i ordered 'Letters to a young poet' by Rainer Maria Rilke. LOL that was my book haul for today.
I recently purchased 3 books: Braiding Sweetgrass (bc in Feb I'm going to attend a presentation by the author); Picasso's War (bc I watched a RUclips interview of the author given at the Library of Congress), The Hobbit (bc I've never read Tolkien), and We Don't Know Ourselves (bc it sounds like information I should know and a good way to weave in memoir into a non-fiction book.) I'm actively reading the latter and Wind in the WIllows. My favorite Lip Product is Burt's Bees tinted lipbalms. I have them tucked everywhere so one is never more than a few feet from my hands (and thus my lips.) As for makeup content, I find makeup very interesting, but I'm no longer twenty. My makeup interests (at almost 60) are very different than yours at your age. But the occasional introdcution of a new product or your thoughts on something you love or hate will certainly not veer me away from your artsy/bookish content. Personally, I would love more content on art, design, ekphrastic writing, from you. I think there is a lot of overlap between writing, poetry, painting and design. And I think you would be an excellent moderator of that conversation. Do you watch the videos produced by the National Gallery in London (mostly produced during the pandemic.) Its excellent. Also being in Long Island, you could show us all the Walt Whitman stuff I should have visited in my 35 years living in metro NYC but didn't. Thank you for your content, Carolyn. Brava.
I absolutely love Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer and highly recommend reading Gathering Mosses by her as well! I hope you enjoy watching her speak next month :)
Hi Carolyn! I have a random question. Do you have any tips on how to learn to draw? Since I was a kid (I’m 20 now) I always wanted to learn but I never thought I could do it and just quit. Love your videos 🥰
Lots of practising, using references, something I like to do when I don’t know what to draw, or need to break art block, is drawing random items around the house, when something is right in front of you, you can really see all the elements of it, the light, the shadows, etc, rather than if it’s just a picture you’re using
An unexpected morning treat! I am going to finish Letters to a Young Poet this morning before the gym and playoff football. Sadly, I don't have a favorite lip product, at least not to wear. It's a guy thing.😘😊
I loved this video so much! I love the Fitglow beauty night lip serum! It's pricey for sure but so worth it. They actual have a really small sample sized one I bought recently to try it out and I will for sure be buying the full sized one!
Within the past few days I got Blood Music by Greg Bear, The King of Elflands Daughter by Lord Dunsany, Behold the Man by Michael Moorcock, Elric of Melbourne by Michael Moorcock, Interview with A Vampire by Anne Rice, Where Late the Sweet Birds Sang by Kate Wilhem, Mythology by Edith Halmiton, Odyssey by Homer, and Earth Abides by George R. Stewart. It's been an expensive week.
Would you incorporate in one of your videos a collection of your favourite lip products? Like the ones you showed from your vanity 😍🤎💫 Also, I looove your vlogs
Oh Carolyn, Patrick has sent you two of my most favourite novels of Chales Dickens, 'Little Dorrit' and 'Bleak House', must reads as far as I'm concerned. Little Dorrit is such an extraordinary journey and a true masterpiece, as far as I'm concerned, and I don't think anything needs to be stated about Bleak House, it just 'is'! I hope you love them as much as I do! I purchased the hb picture book story 'Where Snow Angels Go', which is such a christmas-sy pb. Also have ordered Carol Ann Duffy's 'Christmas Poems' in hb, am waiting for it to arrive! My current read list has 12 items, including 'Farewell to Arms' for your 'Tome' book club, 'War and Peace' for the Hardcore Literature book club, and my current novel 'The Seamstress of Sardinia' which I'm really liking and am up to page 77. I have numerous library books I'm trying to read which The Seamstress of Sardinia is one.
I've been looking at the eight life in the bookstore for YEARS but it's so long that I've been too scared to buy it😬 maybe if u read it and love it one day i can eventually end up reading it😄
I have been chipping my way through A Farewell to Arms, and I have to say, it’s reminding me of “Johnny Got his Gun” by Dalton Trumbo which I read in undergrad! I must say the latter is a tearjerker, but I’m loving Hemingway’s writing style. Loving the videos! ❤
The Eighth Life is one of my all-time favorite books! It's so, so good, and I hope you love it. The English translation of her next book just came out, too.
I am wondering if you have ever listened to Don McLean's song _Vincent_ about Van Gogh? I highly recommend it for you. For some reason, I think you'll love it. Bookish question: I try to buy used books, exclusively, as part of the three R's : Reduce, reuse and recycle as well as trying to buy local (to reduce energy to ship the books).. which really limits to non-online purchases. As such, I am on the lookout for lesser found classics. Three I have been trying to find used are: That Tale of Genji, The Death of Ivan Ilych, and Three Men in a Boat (Jerome K Jerome). Or anything by Philip K Dick or Achidie. Non-bookish question: (not my favorite, but...) have you ever had lip balm with cinnamon in it? Lip-smacking good (my issue is that if you keep licking your lips, they dry out and need to re-apply) For example, Lip Freak 'Sin-o-mint'
Yes, it's one of my favorites! That's a great strategy to have, and I hope you can find those soon :) I want to say yes, but I'm actually not sure. I can imagine it's quite hard not to eat it hahaha
My bookly discoveries recently: Papyrus by Irene Vallejo. (A history of books) The picture of Dorian Gray, Pride and Prejudice and Sense and sensibility by Jane Austen (Könemann publisher's funny little books, including footnotes) Precious by Sapphire I prefer bright red and then all the shades gradually towards darker, not though using myself. 😇 Frostic greetings to Willow!
The next book I'm reading is Walden and it reminded me of you c: I'm not much for lip products I just use spf lip balms hehe I like the mango flvour by Sun bum :)
I read Richard III last year. It was a good one. I've already finished the first two book club selections. That ending to 'Farewell' was heartbreaking. Carolyn, how could you do that to us!?
I love your videos❤ to answer your questions: 1. I would love to get Anna Karenina (have it on kindle) And Islamic mystical poetry (im jot Islamic but I’ve been reading poetry from around the world And… 2. I loveeee the Urban Decay lip products
Finished King John earlier this month and feel confident that there is sufficient evidence that WS inherited the play from someone, maybe Greene or Kyd (idk bc I read a lot of WS but not so many other Elizabethans). In Act I, scene 1, a character is introduced in a typically clownish situation and remains part of the action thru to the end of the play. However, he is an obnoxious smart-alec most of the way, until Shakespeare re-works his character into a serious participant. I think that a lot of other dramatists would take him as was given, and miss out on a great tragedy. Anyway, no more rambling - Thx Carolyn, enjoyed.
I have a weird question 😂 so English isn’t my first language but I always pronounce castle in the faber castle with the T silent but I heard you pronounce the T so I wanted to know is there two ways to pronounce it or what’s the right way? I know very random and weird sorry 😂❤
Proust, aka the author that everybody knows about but (almost) no one has actually read. 😄 I'm curious to know if you find it as difficult as most people say it is.
@@CarolynMarieReadshmm, that's a hard one. I'd have to say mac lipglass in lovechild . It's a perfect "my lips but better" (as they say) but with a bit of shimmer. Haha
We appreciate your dedication and consistency. God bless you.
Thank you so much 😌
Yay! 🌟 So happy you got everything Carolyn! You are definitely one of the highlights of my week! Such a joy, treasure, and comfort! 💕
Yes!!! I truly can't thank you enough for all of your kindness, generosity, and support! It meanly the whole world
@@CarolynMarieReads you're welcome! ♥🥰

Did u only read Swans way or the entire series?
I definitely got inspired by you and picked up Anna Karenina. Kinda scared to read it but it is one of my 2023 goal so am also excited to read 😊
I'm Reading it now too! You're not alone😊
So excited for you both!! Say hi to Levin for me :)
I've read "The Once and Future King" twice. I loved it!
So glad to hear :)
I’m not a big lip product person, but I also love peppermint lip balm. I’ve been using the original Burt’s Bees balm since high school, but I also like the Dr. Bronners peppermint balm.
Yesss I just bought the Dr. Bronners peppermint balm yesterday and it's amazing!!!
The summer fridays lip balms are SO GOOD they have a tinted one and a normal one as well

Few things from me today hihi
Hi Adriana!
1. I completely agree. Ooo so exciting! Indeed ;)
2. YES, he's the best! I've hoping to read The Graveyard Book very soon!!!
3. I've actually never tried Carmex. I'll have to change that.
Loved the speech :) I hope you're having a beautiful day too!
I make book jackets to disguise what I read on public transit or work
This was so fun! Books, art supplies, and lip balm are my favorites too lol. Also, love the Goldfaber pencils! They’re really good quality affordable colored pencils. Think they’ve only been around for a couple of years.
Thanks for being one of the book tubers who is not all about romance novels✨
This year i am gonna read all about economics and classics
I actually went to the library this week and picked up The Little Prince (thanks to your obsession!) and The Old Man and the Sea for $1 from their bookstore :) I’m excited to add some short books to my 2023 reading list 🤓📖

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick Balm is fun, and the packaging is great. It's very moisturizing. A mix between lipstick and a balm.

That's the great thing about art, you can do whatever you want! There are no rules :)
Loved this video Carolyn! So fun! I didn't know those pens came in brown - I'll have to check my local Michael's. Journaling with it would be fun - it will give the pages an antique/vintage look...love it!!

-Entitled (the entire novel is from a book's perspective!)
-The Priory of the Orange Tree
-Babel
-Anxious People
-The School for Good Mothers
-All's Well
-The Messy Lives of Book People
-Our Wives Under the Sea
-The Sun Also Rises
Lip product recommendation: Burt's Bees lipsticks
I have one in the shade of Blush Basin #501 - it's sort of a nude mauve/pinkish shade. I think you would like it - very natural looking.
Thanks for sharing your book, art, and beauty hauls with us!!

I'm so glad Kiara!
I love a good black...etching was my favourite...then lithography (BFA)
My dentist gives out peppermint lip chap😅😂🤔
I've been binge watching your videos since the new year NONSTOP 🤭🤭 I'm reading A Farewell To Arms and I'm hoping to keep up with Game of Tomes the entire year * crossing my fingers * And my favorite lip product has to be Mac Please Me 💗
That's so sweet! Thank you!!
I'm so glad you'll be joining us for Game of Tomes!!!
Ooo I love Mac, but I haven't tried Please Me...I'll have to change that :p
Bookoutlet always has amazing deals on the pan McMillans!
Carolyn, how i love this video! You got amazing new books! Oh! This edition of Alice is stunning! The Jane Eyre scarf is gorgeous! I'd like go shopping with you someday! Love from Rio de Janeiro! 💖✨✨
I'm so glad! Aww :)
Love from New York!
Yes, Aquaphor is a staple!! Ooo I'll have to check those out :) Thank you for the great recommendation!
I'm so glad! Me too hahaha
I love reading Nino Haratishwilli. I'm currently reading her 3rd book ( but I'm reading it in Dutch, as I am Belgian 😊, so I don't know the English tittle). Love the Fenty Beauty lip products too...
Great vlog and haul..loved the series of unfortunate events books and movie 🎥🍿☕📚❄️⛄
Thank you so much! Yes, they're great :)
You are so pretty of course we want beauty content from you. About Proust, I couldn't get into reading it so easily but when I did it was worth it because it's the most beautiful prose I've ever read. Bye 🤗
Aw you're very kind to say so :)
I'm so glad to hear that!!
Books + beauty = YES!!!
YESSS
Dr. Bronner’s organic lip balm is what I always carry. It is the best quality that I have found.
Yesss I just bought the mint one yesterday and I already love it! It goes on so smoothly!
@@CarolynMarieReads I’m so pleased that you like it! Thank you for your friendly channel. You are so talented. It is lovely content to watch.
would love to see more beauty content from you!
What a fun video!
Marcel Proust always reminds me of Max and Lorelai
Yes!!!
I had some gift cards and birthday money to spend, so this month I picked up 4 new books:
David Copperfield by Charles Dickens (for Game of Tomes)
Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie
Tales from the Perilous Realm by J. R. R. Tolkien
Love's Labor's Lost by William Shakespeare
The Unauthorized Biography of Lemony Snickett was awesome.
So glad you think so!
The clear gloss would be great to wear on top of lipstick as well, like with a matte color that could use some shine.
I'm so glad you love lip products too (they're the best) hahaha
You really can't go wrong with anything from Cerave or Vaseline :) I've never heard of the citygirls lopgloss. I'll have to check it out!
Ooo the Outlander books are great! (I also recommend watching the show after, if you haven't already) Ugh Hemingway holds my heart! I haven't read Cannery Row, but I've heard great things! Happy reading :)
I needed a video to watch while I drink my coffee! ❤
I hope you enjoy! (the video and your coffee) ☕️
Hey Carolyn the eighth life was my favourite book of 2022. The writing is gorgeous ! plz do read it
So glad to hear that! I'll try to read it sooner rather than later :)
Wow your library’s bookshop is huge. Mine is the size for 3 people browsing max. Since you mentioned beauty, I always wonder what product you use in your hair. My daughters have the same curls and I’ve tried what seems like hundreds of products to get them defined nice curls like yours.
I have the same lip gloss and I love it! 🤩
I know you did it on Instagram but maybe you can do a week of curly hair.🙂 or something like it...
@@kaelaorton881 Thanks for the imput. I appreciate it. Yes, I'm very much looking forward to it.
If you love lip products, you should definitely try the Cath Kidston lip balm!
I’ve never heard of that one! I’ll definitely check it out! Thank you 😂💕
I loved this video so much! I love the Fitglow beauty night lip serum! It's pricey for sure but so worth it. They actual have a really small sample sized one I bought recently to try it out and I will for sure be buying the full sized one!
I'm so glad :)
Ooo I didn't know there was a night lip serum from Fenty, I'll have to check it out! Thank you for the great recommendation!
@@CarolynMarieReads It's not from Fenty. The brand it fitglow beauty :)
You are like the warmth of early sun rays😊
I'm honored you think so :)
Buxom lip gloss from Ulta. It is cooling and beautiful on.
Ooo yes, I've been meaning to try those!
hii carolyn!
i started reading Anna Karenina because of you ♡
i hope to love this book as much as you do !
That’s amazing! I’m so excited for you :)
I've been looking at the eight life in the bookstore for YEARS but it's so long that I've been too scared to buy it😬 maybe if u read it and love it one day i can eventually end up reading it😄
That's very understandable!!! Yes, we'll see how it goes! Hopefully we both love it hahaha
Isn't “Johnny Got his Gun” by Dalton Trumbo the book that inspired Metallica's song One?
@@kurtfox4944 yepp!
So glad you're loving Hemingway! I'll have to look into "Johnny Got his Gun" :)
I very happy to hear that, thank you so much
The Eighth Life is one of my all-time favorite books! It's so, so good, and I hope you love it. The English translation of her next book just came out, too.
I'm so glad to hear that! I'll make sure to read it sooner rather than later :) ooo exciting!
That's a great strategy to have, and I hope you can find those soon :)
I want to say yes, but I'm actually not sure. I can imagine it's quite hard not to eat it hahaha
My bookly discoveries recently:
Papyrus by Irene Vallejo. (A history of books)
The picture of Dorian Gray, Pride and Prejudice and Sense and sensibility by Jane Austen (Könemann publisher's funny little books, including footnotes)
Precious by Sapphire
I prefer bright red and then all the shades gradually towards darker, not though using myself. 😇
Frostic greetings to Willow!
Some wonderful books!
Willow sends you her love :)
Finally bought the little prince in english and french
formidable!
The next book I'm reading is Walden and it reminded me of you c:
I'm not much for lip products I just use spf lip balms hehe I like the mango flvour by Sun bum :)
Aw that's wonderful! I've been wanting to read Walden for a while, but I've been a bit intimidated...
I have that one too! It's great :)
I read Richard III last year. It was a good one.
I've already finished the first two book club selections. That ending to 'Farewell' was heartbreaking. Carolyn, how could you do that to us!?
I love your videos❤ to answer your questions:
1. I would love to get Anna Karenina (have it on kindle)
And Islamic mystical poetry (im jot Islamic but I’ve been reading poetry from around the world
And…
2. I loveeee the Urban Decay lip products
I'm so glad
Could you please share which library you went to? I live on LI as well but no local libraries near me have books for sale.
Anyway, no more rambling - Thx Carolyn, enjoyed.
loved this vid!! thank youuu
Loved this!
How on earth does Carolyn only have 50k subscribers??
I don’t get it either
Aww thank you both so much
I loveee your dog 😭😭😭 too cute
She sends her love back!!! 🐶💕
this was so lovely. please tell me you will show us what you un-hauled because that bag was massive 😂
I'm so glad you thought so! I didn't unfortunately...it would have taken quite a while, so I decided not to hahaha
@@CarolynMarieReads whatever works for u best 🥺❤️

I've recently been very interested in Asian Lit so I've my eye on quite a few novels by Japanese and Korean authors
We have just witnessed world’s tiniest watering can. > Pauses to marvel in the moment
Loved the video but I kind of wanted to see the books that you unhauled 😂
You're not the only one :)
I would have, but I figured it would make the vlog quite a bit longer...didn't want to bore anyone hahaha
how do you drink enough water & keep your lip products on?
I have a weird question 😂 so English isn’t my first language but I always pronounce castle in the faber castle with the T silent but I heard you pronounce the T so I wanted to know is there two ways to pronounce it or what’s the right way? I know very random and weird sorry 😂❤
Norwegian wood is a lot less intimidating..smaller shorter...
If you haven’t yet you should definitely check out Hailey Bieber’s brand Rhode she has the BEST lip products!
Ooo yes, I've heard great things :)
Proust, aka the author that everybody knows about but (almost) no one has actually read. 😄 I'm curious to know if you find it as difficult as most people say it is.
How sweet you are
Nino Kharatishvili is a Georgian (country) writer and I’m sooooo interested if you’ll like it ❤️❤️
Very interesting! I'm only hearing great things about it, so fingers crossed that I do :)
Not me going to the comments to also get lip product recommendations 🤭
hahaha I don't blame you (I'm doing the same) Do you have a favorite?
@@CarolynMarieReadshmm, that's a hard one. I'd have to say mac lipglass in lovechild . It's a perfect "my lips but better" (as they say) but with a bit of shimmer. Haha
