There are no words that can do this any justice.
It speaks a language that i am so close to understand yet it is still hard to get what it really deals with. Between symbols and reality.
Amazingly beautiful. Perfect music for the movie
impeccable storytelling
This is a German D minor tuning 13 course Baroque Lute (18th Century). It was used also as a German Theorbo, but the tuning would be one string different (the first string is a D instead of F, so the last one would be G instead of A.
welcome to the internet, people can say what they want then boom Lute expert comes lol :)
Thank you.
Where can I buy one of this? :S its so awesome to hear!
Hi, which is the comple tuning?
I tried looking for it but I didn't find anything, I would really appreciate it

So beautiful.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful ❤❤❤❤
God bless his hands!!!
The Man! The Legend!
Muito bom. Bravo! 👏🏻
Simply mesmerizing!
the haunted eternal life of the cursed Vampire is audibly expressed in the the deep tonal resonance, that can cycle the chromatic scale and return....the Gentlemans playing is exquisite at times with what seems like accompaniment on a tertiary level, and one exlored adds more insight into the Tonal landscape...
This dude high

trent reznor Get it done by ear, it's pretty easy and repetitive.
sublime ❤

reminds me of john cale 23 solo pieces Lal naissance de L'amour
It's a luth (or maybe archiluth), nothing more ! It has got double stringss (we call it "choeurs" in french), as you can see, so as to make the sound stronger, and more strings out of the neck to play very bass notes. Coming from the "oud" (or "ud"), which was used by Arabs, it was mostly played from the Renaissance to the 18th century, and particularly in France during the 17th century, with famous players and composers, such as Gautier father and son, and many more. It was first supplanted by the harpsichord, and finally, by the piano. The guitar, coming from Spain, took the place of this kind of instrument, during the 19th century. Is that enough ?
This is neither. Its a swan necked baroque lute
Well it is enough, same goes for your attitude!
внатуре чётко
Guys. What is the short music played in the very ending?
Really bad. Thats what it is.
QUE HERMOSA MELODÍA. COMO SE LLAMA EL INSTRUMENTO MUSICAL?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lute (: es un Lute

Nice!
Это великолепно
🥺
me gusta.
I appreciate all the comments on the instrument and technique but it is lost on me. Nice tune. Probably took a lot dedication to master the instrument. Melding an instrument of the past with modern melodic influences. Solo "guitar" music - my fave.
¿alguien sabe cómo se llama la película del vídeo?
Andrea Balbín Only Lovers Left Alive!!!
En español es: sólo los amantes sobreviven
Looks little bit like Clegane..
plz tell me the name of his instrument.........
lute
Thanks
Dinledim, güzelmiş nepepee bee yaa

How name of this song?
Awesome, he kills it, what kind of guitar is that?
Sorry al minuto 1.25 mi sono addormentato
wtf
He's playing his lute like a guitar player would. It just doesn't have the right sound. Maybe his lute is extremely low quality, but even then the lowest of the low end lutes wouldn't sound that bad which is what leads me to believe it's just his playing. Some of the courses he's not playing together which makes a weird delayed sound. Good intentions but I don't like it that much :/
+Themostamazinguy relax
Brus Lji It doesn't make me enjoy it. This music isn't for everyone.
Themostamazinguy
relax....its not about u its about him
Brus Lji .... I don't enjoy the music. Plain and simple. You're trying to say i'm self centered which is why I can't enjoy it. I'm saying by that logic you're equally self centered because YOU enjoy the music, that is, unless you feel neutral about it. If you felt neutral about it I doubt hat you'd be commenting at all.
i'm not saying it's bad music, I'm saying I don't like it. Not the same thing
Brus Lji Also what it exactly isn't about me? What is "it"? The music? Well that's obvious, it wasn't dedicated to me. The experience of listening? Well that IS about me considering i'm not experiencing it vicariously. And even if I was, that's still from my own perspective. I'm not even sure what you're saying.
Lütfen keşfetmeyin burayı
I dont get why people seem to love this... his playing is awful on several fronts - both technically and musically. This is an embarrassing representation of the lute and how stunningly beautiful it and its music can be He makes it sound like a cat being skinned... if he could cleanly play it wouldnt be so bad.
If you're wondering, he's playing a copy of a 1734 Jauch 13 course baroque lute.
Might I inquire on three examples of music featuring the lute that you would endorse. You can say that this video causes interest in a dead instrument. Crude to you is wow to the untrained ear and your suggestions would be of interest.
I'm afraid Jay F. is right. Lute is very much alive. There are many great lute players, Lonardi, Hopkinson-Smith, O'Dette, many others as well, strong young players. Most music played on the lute is early music from the golden period of lute, however there are examples of musicians who play modern music on lute (Karamazov). Lute music 'library' is vast and exceeds many of others in sheer volume, there are many virtuoso pieces from renaissance and baroque period. Music from Francesco da Milano, dall'Aquilla, Terzi, Luys Milan, Mudarra, Attaignant, Gorzanis..and that is only mentioning few names.
That's his style, haunting and dissonant. Have you seen the film that this song is from? Only Lovers Left Alive, by Jim jarmusch. Watch the film and you will get it. .
I have to agree... the piece is beautiful and this performance doesn't lack for atmosphere, but the sound is so tinny and muddy that it's hard to listen to. The counterpoint overwhelms the melody, the monotonous attack makes this poor instrument sound like a cheap banjo. I'd love to hear it played by a lutenist with a more sensitive touch.
