Yep. As a someone already said, we played it as a kid... And it was scary indeed xD but the game was awesome, and I still play it for high scord I had no idea how worked when I was a child lol
It always bothered me how more than half of the final boss is spent in a vehicle that had only just barely been introduced as a mechanic. The first half of this boss is genuinely fantastic. The way they make you use each powerup to progress is great. Every time you think you've got him, a completely different phase starts up. It's just a shame that you don't get to deal the final blow with a big phat charged fist.
Fighting Reflux was always a confusing thing for me when I was younger. His race was regarded as invincible and I was scared shitless whenever I encounter one of them in the level. Then Reflux is apparently known as the strongest of them but I beat him...twice.
When you fight him in the level "Desert of the knaaren" You knock him out, you don't actually kill him, and in the final boss battle, he fuses himself with the scepter, making him killable (because the scepter is destroyable)
the knaaren aren't literally invincible, you just can't fight them in the desert because you're not supposed to, it's a hide and run puzzle level. rayman has fought worse creatures, he could take them on
It's kind of ironic that Reflux, the one that's supposed to be the strongest of the already invincible Knaaren... is the only one you can actually beat
One of the most epic and impossible final boss from my childhood. With a friend on vacation we were completing the game... it took us litterally 2 days to beat him. We were just speechlesd after the end cinematic in front of the last black screen with the text saying that we made it. Epic ending for what is to me the best ever Rayman game to this day
I'll never understand why this game wasn't an instant hit all across the globe. I get it, Rayman 2 was a unique game because 3D platformers were still very rare at the time and ones with a really good story, music, visuals etc were EXTREMALY rare. By the time Rayman 3 came out there was a lot of competition... but it's absolutely BRILLIANT! It holds up 20 and more years later perfectly, far better than Rayman 2 in my humble opinion. Everything is dialed up to 11, the music hits even harder, the visuals were even more colorful and imaginative, the plot was even more (or at least equally so) entertaining and creative... And also... It's CRAZY how good the battle system is in this. Tumbling under projectiles, upgrated strafe mode with curving shots and running mode for loaded shots, tons of creative powerups, even close quarters options? A whole tier above Rayman 2 combat. This game was a major step up from the previous installment, and somehow, people didn't adore it? I'll NEVER understand why that was the case. One thing is clear though. This one failed reaction from us is what made Rayman go into hiatus for all these years. We didn't have a single proper 3D Rayman installments since. No Rayman 4 in 20 YEARS! ...how sad is that?

Because he is a shell of his former self. He’s been horribly disfigured because the power mutated his body. The power of the Leptys obviously was too much even for a knaaren warrior to handle as he looks like a burn victim with severe cancer.
