great video learned a lot I always knew laser was better I just forgot some of the reasons why but this definitely tells me a lot more laser cost more obviously but over time you save a lot more
A lamp causes a bleed through even when projecting black, analogous to LCD in TVs while laser projectors have infinite contrast analogous to OLED in TVs.
Laser last 20,000 hrs but the projector dies at 8k Hrs and 2 months after warranty expired ,lamps dont explode and are pushing 10,000 hrs life now a days . Out of warranty laser LEDs Failure will cost more than projector worth I know as I am a Casio Dealer have bunch of laser LED Projectors not woth fixing Laser source , Have a Panasonic FW430 with lamp still going strong at 7000 hrs , I have an Epson 5030UB with 4 extra OEM Osram amps that cost me $22 each , The whole Laser thing is still too pricy and undependable and too costly to repair , If you have a Laser projector make sure you sell before the warranty runs out !!!!!
I have an Epson 8350, thinking about buying a new bulb instead of upgrading. It would be cheaper and buy some time to see what happens with 8K, laser projectors or whatever is on the horizon. What do I need to look for in a bulb? Osram?
You can use a laser projector in your living room for a high end home cinema experience! However, for most people a LED Ultra HD TV will be a more economical solution.
You can still look at the objective (I don't recommend it even with today's lamp projector though), it's harmful if you open it up and look at the laser sources.

I was sold on laser projectors when I first turned on my Epson LS10000. Fabulous.

It's true when you compare a laser projector with an LCD projector but a 3 DLP projector is very similar to a laser one from this aspect.
