I used to play through the 2:90 when I was in a band 20 years ago, was thinking about picking up another one, why I stumbled across your video but your preamp now has me by the balls...
Hey there! I own a axe fx Mark II and a mesa 2:90. I’m curious to know how you had your ax fx and 2:90 hooked up? We’re you using any of the voicing Chanel’s of the 2:90? Thanks in advance!
Hey man I had the axe hooked up into the Mesa with no voicings on. Funny thing is I only found out after I got rid of the Mesa that it had voice switching haha. Power amp sims on always and cab sims off.
@@travisrajotte3611 You really just need to tweak it because it’s different for whatever cab you are using and speakers etc. I always tried to just make a natural raw tone starting with an amp block only. I rarely ever added any eq blocks or enhancers when creating a patch. I dial in the amp eq until it was decent and then I started to mess with the parameters on the other pages of the amp block.
Yeah I found myself turning a lot of dials trying to get the right sound for my ears. So with the ax fx and Mesa 2:90 you still had the power amp sim ON in the global settings? Why?
Hey man, at the end of the day would you rather have a fryette pbul or an axe fx with a fryette profile? I know it's much easier having a digital unit, I just wonder if the amp is just hands down more inspiring for you?
Scott Claremont I would always rather a real tube head over any amp sim but the axe is a great unit and does a good job on replicating the tone and character of the actual amp.
Nick Scarfo I was almost going to get a fryette pb ul but went the kemper in the end due to it being more practical. Can you talk a little about what the pitt bull is like to play?
Hey brother great rigs ....been admiring for awhile......do you think the axe has the touch and feel of a real amp....when combined with a power amp????? I have and love the kemper but the axe has the effects??? Tonelives...U-ROCK ....OUT
Thanks. I wasn’t using any of the switches. I actually didn’t know that it had them until after I sold the poweramp. Wish I could have heard it with them engaged.

That’s funny because I just found out it can be used without!
Also, do you have any tips for getting great tone though the ax fx and new 2:90 combo? Settings to adjust levels etc.

Tonelives Thanks! Paired with a decent tube power amp it does have the feel and response but I still do not think it compares to a real tube head.
Great sound. Are you using the Modern or Deep switches?

I would like your patches, where can I ???
