Thanks for posting! I have two little boys, and I'm looking for a new hobby to pass the time while they're napping or at school. I thought making them and their cousins scarves and other such things would be fun. I agree with the others, you did a fantastic showing how to start! Thank you again. :)
Thank you for your insights and thank you so much for this video! I'm a young mother with not a lot of time and this is very helpful for learning! I'll be making some dishcloths
This video is awesome! I learned the chain crochet today in school at craft club but wanted to see what other crochets that I could so this video was perfect for me. Thanks so much for making it. And also could you make a video on how to crochet bracelets? Thanks again! Blaize
Awww Thank you! I am so glad you have found them useful! You are so welcome! I would suggest using double crochet when you want to work up quickly, the drape of fabric will be more drape-y with double crochet. However, if you want a more dense fabric (warmer) use single crochet, but use a hook that is suitable for the yarn you are using or one size up. Enjoy!
I love your tutorials. I have watched both one and two. Thank you for making it easy to understand . I am just learning to crochet. Is it better to use the double crochet for blankets?
loooove it this is my first time i see your channel , and you are a great teacher a master you explained it very clearly to me thanks ...lots of blessing for you keep up the good work ...
good video, a bit fast but I think I can figure it out, do you have a video about when you are finished your project and how you are supposed to end it after you cut the access yarn off?
This was an amazing video, though could you slow down in future videos please? I dont know if you have yet or not, but if you havent could you show how to turn around and start a second row with a chain stitch?? Thank you and you are amazing :)
thank you for helping me figure out what stitch I was doing! haha I have been doing a single crochet but I wanted to learn a double, which you helped me to learn because you made it simple and slow. I do have a question. Does it matter if I put the hook over the yarn like you do, or behind it? I usually hook the yarn from behind, and I crochet faster. :) but I am not sure if that changes anything.
Note for beginners: 100% cotton yarn will separate more easily than wool. If, while you're pulling your yarn through your work, the result looks strange, look to see if a thread of the work got stuck with your hook. I first had that problem when starting to make washcloths, which are also a perfect item to learn and get better at making clusters. Good luck to all my fellow crochet crafters :)
I'm not crocheting with music I'm crocheting with your videos because I keep forgetting the techniques :P please can you do a video showing how to apply a zipper on a crochet piece?
Sup, I'm a newbie at this. I CANT DO 4 CHAIN STITCHES :-( How do u do this stuff?? And plllleeeeaaaassseee slow down, *frowny face* Other then that, its amazing, I'm surprised how good u r. Unlike me.
Candy Francis Thanks for watching! It takes some time to become good at any skill, and crochet is no different. I have a tendency to speak quickly, but have and will try to slow down in the future!
@MsCarla44 hey! glad you like this! I buy my cotton yarn off of the internet from peaches and creme, however you can buy a similar brand called sugar and cream from Lily at any hobby lobby or joann stores :-)
Hey Esther! Thank you for watching, I don't think I have a video devoted to finishing a project, but if you would like one I will certainly put that idea in my queue!
@xTHExFALLx chances are that your stitches are too tight. I suggest relaxing your yarn hand. don't pull so tight when making a stitch. I can't remember which video at the moment, but I think it is the color change tutorial where I talk about tension a bit more.
@TheWickyd1 Haha thanks!!! I have made a hoodie once, Maybe I will do a vid showing some projects that are personal that I have made. :) thanks for the sub!
I have a great chain, but every time I start the single crochet, it turns into a big ball, a huge mess and I can't keep track of what chain I'm on, can't even see it...
Hi there! so that could be due to uneven tension when crocheting, also there is a natural slant when doing any stitch depending on how you yarn over. Thanks for noticing that on your own stitches, so I may do a video to explain it all!
It is not your talking that is too fast, but the actual actions. Us newbies don't know which chain is which, how to hold the yarn for proper tension, etc.
I feel horrible, I tend to watch men more in tutorials. They dont have weird fingernail polish, nails are neat, and even when chatty I dont get annoyed. But the one thing I think really needs to be explained is how to keep the rows from shrinking. It can be hard at first finding that final stitch at the end of the row.
You seem to be very knowledgeable but for a newbie interested in crochet it would be great if you slow down...I got lost after the first time you said "yarn over pull through".

This is by far the easiest and clearest crochet instructional video I have found. Thanks for posting it!
Thank you for your insights and thank you so much for this video! I'm a young mother with not a lot of time and this is very helpful for learning! I'll be making some dishcloths
I am so glad! thank you for watching!
Thank you so much! I'm just starting out and did not understand what the books where trying to teach me. Your tutorial is really easy to understand.
You are most welcome! I think starting is the hardest part, the rest is practice practice practice!
Thankyou for making such a lovely, easy-to-follow tutorial!

Loved the video - you didn't go to fast for me, but I think it's because I have some experience, I just haven't picked it up in awhile!
I love your tutorials. I have watched both one and two. Thank you for making it easy to understand . I am just learning to crochet. Is it better to use the double crochet for blankets?

This was an amazing video, though could you slow down in future videos please? I dont know if you have yet or not, but if you havent could you show how to turn around and start a second row with a chain stitch?? Thank you and you are amazing :)
I learned so much!
Thank you for the basic crochet video.... :-)
You are welcome!
Octupus' Garden :D Amazing video, crazy cool hat. THANKS!!
I make clothing.. but I've always been curious how crochet was done, so thanks for posting ^_^
I just might give it a go someday.

Baha, thanks! Good luck with it! I hope to get more videos up in the coming weeks but am adjusting to a new schedule XD
waow, your hands move so fast, like a spider weaving a web, in my culture, thats a really big compliment. ^_^

Have you ever made sweaters or cardigans?

there will be more soon!

When u turn at the ends how do you keep it even? My don't look very nice?
@LiaLalalala you are welcome! I hope you enjoy this and all the others!

When would I need to refer to the gauge ?
@TheWickyd1 Haha thanks!!! I have made a hoodie once, Maybe I will do a vid showing some projects that are personal that I have made. :)
thanks for the sub!
I have a great chain, but every time I start the single crochet, it turns into a big ball, a huge mess and I can't keep track of what chain I'm on, can't even see it...
@xTHExFALLx your first chain will go all spiraly, just carefully straighten it as you go.
once you add more stitches after chaining, itll be okay.
Why do my single stitches, or any stitches always come out crooked or just not straight?
Hi there! so that could be due to uneven tension when crocheting, also there is a natural slant when doing any stitch depending on how you yarn over.

sorry! Thought I took enough time for each stitch :/ Hope fully you can replay it enough times to make up for my speed.
Hey dear
This was way too fast for me :( I tried to stick with it, but just couldn't keep up..
Sorry to hear about that! I am hoping to re-record a video that is slower now that I know more about making these videos! thanks for watching!
So a chain stitch is essentially one giant slip not.
in a sense yes, but when reading crochet patterns, they are different

Hi Jocyline! I am planning on doing a slower video using my new style of shooting, so please keep an eye out for it! Thanks for watching!
I really like you and your videos but, way too fast for beginners 😿
Waaay to fast for beginners!!!
WOULD YOU SLOW DOWN!!! SOME PEOPLE ARE JUST STARTING AND YOUR GOING TO FASR!!! GOSH!!!
@alexgreek1010 you sir, are a butt ;-)
Ure going waaaaaaaay to fast..u need to slow down
Wayyyyy to fast to learn, and maybe zoom in and get close. Go much slower.
Sorry about that! I've learned a lot since filming these first tutorials. Thanks for the feedback :)
