My uncle was the person who found that lead issue
Maggi has a ghost marketing plan called "maggi" because we indians have a mindset that instant noodles = maggi. Mtlb k hum instant noodles nhi bolte, maggi bolte hai chahe brand koi bhi hota hai 😂
Yup same story of Colgate ☺️
@@cutelover5025 😂 true

Yeah every instant noodle is called maggi 😑
😂😂😂😂✌️
Why no one is talking about its taste, you will eat all sorts of noodle but still maggi is best it's neither too spicy nor plain just perfect balance
I agree 👍 maggi is the only noodle which has such a balanced taste...

Can you imagine Maggie had a huge huge backlash yet within few months they were able to recover from it & nobody has able to conquer that market it's kind of like monopoly market for Maggie.
yesss
Because no one is able to beat it's taste
Sad reality.
Yes they added too much lead in maggi
Exactly ppl immediately quit Maggi and just as immediately it was all normal again

Maggi is successful for four reasons.
1. Availability.
2. That's two minutes tagline in ads
3. Good story telling ads.
4. Price.
I forgot Maggi long back 😅
There was a time when Maggi was banned and even after revocation, I did not consume Maggi for many years. I felt it's not safe like that. But later, I stopped assuming it like that and I finally had Maagi.
Me too.
It happened in 2013 or 2014 maybe when I was 8-9 years old.
Well, it still not a healthy food😂
Convenience has destroyed the wisdom of world . You can see !!!
I have stopped eating these packaged stuffs long before 1 year and I am very wise and light person now we make great wise traditional foods in our home by ourself it is not only really tastety but also we are becoming wise enough for the world .
But even before these advertisements Maggi literally existed in every home. Their secret of success is quite simple, it's very tasty. Well your video has lot of information I didn't knew about, great work.
sure but their smart advertising strategy did play a huge part
No, not in my house, my mom would never give me any of these things.
the most realistic answer is : nostalgic value and early entry to indian market. just like maruti cars, maggi entered early and has a certain nostalgic taste. This is a common psychology thing that people prefer original itirations of a thing just like most people still like original old mahabharat and ramayan. There are many many different instant noodles better than maggi but its nostalgic factor has an imprinted vision of what instant noodles should taste like because most of the people and myself had maggi as my first instant noodles. More than anything its just a common psychology thing.
Like colgate
You forgot a thing... The nostalgia it has created... It's has emotionally attached itself to our childhood... It's like family... A negative comment to Maggie feels as a personal offence ! It's not just a brand... It's home ❤️
Yeah
He literally said nostalgic feeling after the ban? See the full video
Soooo true!!!
But to be true, as you grow up you get more mature and realise that what your mother said was true, Maggi really is the saltiest noodles in the market. You start eating other competitors like Chings wai wai etc
Yup
Still remember the time when Maggi was banned for months, I already had enough before the ban😁
Just after the ban patanjali noodles was launched in market it is also a kind of marketing to acquire that space
@@santhoshnikhil7151 yeah some people loved it too but it wasn’t enough to beat Maggi

These could be one of the factors, but the taste is the biggest factor. And we can't deny that.
Recently I've came across few brands which are equally good or at least close.
1. Patanjali's noodles - Manchuria & schezwan (I found the Manchurian flavor better than Maggi)
2. Wai wai
3. Top Ramen's curry flavour (all time favorite)

What I appreciate is that they took these many years to understand the Indian/Asian mom's mentality...
To be honest even after we knew maggi was harmful because of lead, we wouldn't have stopped eating it if it wasn't banned 😂
in the 80s and 90s they went school to school giving out free sample packets to kida. the kids took them back to mom to make them a snack. They got kids as well as moms to buy their product. smart marketing i would say.
kids would talk to their friends and word of mouth promotion kicked in
I consume Maggi because of three C’s
1) it’s a COMFORT food - brings in all the emotions and a sense of nostalgia
2) it is a CONVENIENT option - when you’re confused what to have, and want a break from your regular food
3) it offers the benefit of CUSTOMISATION- add any ingredients, veggies as you want to get the desired taste and benefit
WOW! What an amazing 13 minute lesson in marketing. Have been a fan of Maggi since 1983. It is definitely addictive as even my American born kids love it. Now time to make some noodles :-)
I am a science student, but here I am able to understand business and marketing concepts no easily

I wish this video was made last year!! I had a marketing assignment which was determining reasearch and sales relationship and this is PERFECT!!
very well explained. even a noob in marketing like me could understand
Somehow, I never liked the taste of maggi masala, wherever I used to have maggi, I used to have it plain boiled without the tastemaker. Now, post controversy, I have not had a single pack of maggi noodles.
Same. For some reason i never liked the taste of that small packet of masala they give with the noodles.
It's very difficult to beat Maggi because of the first mover advantage and also the nostelgia factor associated with this noodle brand.
You did an amazing job and research brother 👏 🙌 ❤ and you have such a catchy voice 😍I have shared your videos to my friends also 🥰
Really liked the way you explained things so simply, yet In-Depth!
great video! have you considered making a video exploring Amul and how it dominates the dairy shelves?
Great presentation but it's misleading. You described the ingredients in such a way that an average person would think that Maggi is packed with harmful chemicals, which is not the case.
1. Flavor enhancer 635- it has been approved by US FDA as a safe product and also it doesn't need it's quantity regulated. Which means it doesn't harm your body in any way.
2. MSG - which is monosodium glutamate. It was a belief that it increases sodium levels in blood dramatically which would be bad for the heart but recent studies and researches have shown that it does no more harm than your common salt. Which means it is also as much safe to consume as is common salt.
3. Raising agent 500- which is nothing but a fancy name for baking soda. And most of us know how common is it to use baking soda in cooking. Used in almost every household whether you're baking cakes or making dhoklas and instant uttapam.
4. Guar gum- it is a natural product obtained from guar beans or cluster beans. Very beneficial for gut health as it's high in fibre, even reduces blood sugar. So basically it's a healthy alternative of corn starch.
Maggi is surely not the healthiest thing but it's not as bad as you are portraying it to be. It might not be as healthy as freshly prepared nutrient rich food but it's definitely healthier than most of the junk and street foods. And it's NOT addictive.
Although other things about marketing strategies n all, were on point. 👍 Good work there.
P.s.- All this information was collected through a simple Google search and from reliable sites. If anyone have a doubt, they can double check it themselves.
Par tab bhi main maida he so unhealthy
@@dilipthakor685 it is, but let's be honest, even Indian Street food items and many snacks are also made from maida. Why villainies Maggi for it? We do not see someone bashing Momos, bhathure , namakpare, samose, any kind of rolls just because they're made of maida.
Thank you! Your comment is very helpful.

Dont say all time women psychology..you are saying as they have no knowledge. We children love maggie cz it is yummy. My mother knows that maggie is unhealthy and i am sure other mother knows that too.. it is quick to make so yes that is the other factor.
Yeah lol. The marketing factors he said made sense but that women psychology part was total bs. Maggi did focus on working women feeding their children but that's because it was mostly women who used to cook due to patriarchy. Otherwise, Maggi was for everyone who needed to get quicker meal preps and not just women or mothers.
