Notice how in her fantasy she has Wyatt's blanket to sit on which disappears when she snaps back to reality. This is symbolic of the comfort Wyatt gave to Ruth in life.
I think I'll always come back to watch this scene. I know that feeling Ruth has when she walks out of her camper. You love everyone around you in that moment and you feel warm
Ruth is the only sole reason i got hooked to the show the way she full filled the screentime was out of this world , the moment i saw the title of episode and the song came up i knew her time has come 😭
The way this song was sung was absolutely amazing. I loved this scene too. It is definitely my favorite from Ozark. I’ve watched this at least 100 times. I wish this was available on Apple Music. John Prines original version is phenomenal, but this is better.
As sad as this scene is, I think it’s one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. It has since become one of my favorite scenes of all time. I’ve always loved the song Angels from Montgomery. There are many versions, but this one holds a special place in my heart and truly was the perfect song choice and an excellently executed cover. It all comes together to make something special while foreshadowing upcoming events and once again proves why Ozark was such a hit
I think so many programmes rush to tell a story and the best shows have moments like this, quiet kick backs, loved this series and this was my favourite scene.
Ruth did what every generation that came before her thought was impossible in overcoming the stigma of her last name. Once she was done carrying those bricks she was able to see beauty and happiness and all things, even her messed-up family and her troubled past... One hell of a character and one played to perfection.
I don't know why, but I cried on this scene. Many people enter our lives and make us make decisions that hurt the relationship with our loved ones. Sadly, we wish we have those loved ones next to us some days, but it is too late. This is my viewing of this scene.
This scene with the music is amazing and gives me the melancholy nostalgia feels. Only thing that compares is the sopranos scene with the Johnny Thunders song
The last few episodes of the last season was an absolute emotional rollercoaster, sobbed pretty hard during this scene lol, props to these genius writers.
This scene is just beautiful. Perfect and well written. Everything happening, evil or corrupt with these people, yet it's still calm and peaceful. Had Cade not been there, everything would have been perfect for them. This show makes me see beauty in a family of criminals. Damn.
This scene makes me feel this weird sense of nostalgia for good times with my own family many years ago. Like Ruth's family, mine was also broken. It's a weird feeling that makes me feel at peace and makes me feel like I'm with family in the good old days. Hard to put my finger on it.
I have the very same guitar. It was passed down to me from my father who purchased it around 1960 outside of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. It's now earning it's keep here in Vancouver, British Columbia. There are not many of them about and it was fantastic to see it here!
@@willbaker6532 I think he means that, because the Byrds were all happy and alive at the ending, there could have been more conflict. However, every other character's storyline was wrapped up, so, for another season there would have to be a cast of new characters nobody cares about to go up against. Besides; that was the point. The Byrds got off Scott free with all the money & power while the Langmores & so many others lost everything. Marty even sold Ruth out; leaving her to pay the price of trusting him with her life. He was the ultimate villain of the show. And now he holds political power. The showrunners called it a Greek tragedy, but I see the American dream, which, surprise; turned out to be a nightmare.
@@tdizzle4 Yeah it's weird. If you watch 'A Farewell to Ozark' (on RUclips) - which is a behind the scenes look at the show, and go to 18:38, Jason Bateman is talking about this scene and how to switch seamlessly between the two shots of Russ playing guitar.
Russ and Boyd’s death fucking gutted me when it happened, I couldn’t watch the rest of the series because I don’t want to watch more of Ruth after she killed them 😕
that scene was moving, so beautiful. perfect song
Agreed.
This show was awful after season 1 and her character arc was completely pointless
@@Indycarfanatic2024 it was a fun ride while it lasted...
@@Indycarfanatic2024could’ve been handled better, but I wouldn’t say it was awful. Now wendy on the other hand lol
i wanne listen more to this kinda music, but who know artists/song ? suggestions welcome
This scene made me so sad I knew it would be over for Ruth once I saw it, she got to say goodbye too her family one last time
Heartbreaking
For sure. So sad.
Notice how in her fantasy she has Wyatt's blanket to sit on which disappears when she snaps back to reality. This is symbolic of the comfort Wyatt gave to Ruth in life.
Good catch!
My favorite scene. I interpreted as her family was basically all dead and she’d soon be joining them . Very moving imo
Unexpectedly awesome John Prine cover and the perfect song for the best scene of the finale.
Perfection 🥰
I think I'll always come back to watch this scene. I know that feeling Ruth has when she walks out of her camper. You love everyone around you in that moment and you feel warm
"Why do we need a pool? You always need a pool. We got a lake right there. You don't know the first thing about being rich." That gets me everytime!
This song and scene together is one of those anomalies in life that can make you smile, or cry, at the same time.
In a series with so many beautiful and well-acted scenes.. this is the one I'll always remember Ozark by..
This had me in tears! OMGOSH how sad... Her whole family gone except for 3... 😢

Yes, me too.
That was an awesome scene! Angel from Montgomery, great song choice!
Russ is so attractive! I feel bad for Three here, knowing he's the last Langmore, but maybe very wealthy and safe, finally.
Foreshadowing at its best. She was doomed from the start.

I cried like a little girl during this scene
By far the best rendition of Angel from Montgomery
This should have been the ending.

The Langmore curse 🖤
This scene gave me goosebumps. Perfectly done.

Beautiful scene. Well created show. Moving emotions.

The foreshadowing in these scene 🥲

Great series and character development, made you feel for Ruth like she was Pony boy from the Outsiders
I cried tears watching this scene,Perfectly Beautiful
My heart breaks for Three
Was so cool to see all the Langmores gathered at one spot, great show
Marc Menchaca sings this best!
Never knew he was a singer. Great raspy, rough voice.
Where can you find Marc’s version of this song outside of the episode ?
@@matthewwarner2603 good question I think he did it just for the show 😢
Best scene in Ozark. Still sticks with me

The fallen pine needles are moved where Wyatt would be sitting
One of my favorite TV show scenes. It's a pity everyone called off for the season ending it could have been really good
wdym everyone called off the season ending?
@@xaviermoyssenalvarez4419 it sucked. It felt more like a season ending rather than the ending of the entire show.

They were not all as friendly as she remembers it. It's sad though.
I like to think this was a more normal day, we only saw them after the Byrds got involved, like she was remembering before Caid went to jail ect.
@@TronaldTheWizard I gotcha.
I love the blues, and this song made the scene just that much more moving, it actually brought tears to my eyes
"It's like he misses it and hates it all at the same time."
His voice is so damn good. This series is amazing, and so is this scene.
Favorite scene from the show
Bonnie Raitt cover of this John Prime song is amazing too. RIP Ruth. Great show.
I loved this scene
Love this scene. A real gem.
Have been waiting for this ❤️😍
I love this part 😭
i'm not crying... its just the onions...
Wish this version was available
Love this version! What a scene! Genious!! Thank you!
I just want a version of the song with him singing this way. His sound on this song is amazing
In my opiinion Marc Menchaca gives a great intrepetation of Angel from Montgomery with deep emotion!
To everyone that reads this your loved ones are there they can hear you and you can hear them pay attention and make them proud
❤
Dude…….. this scene reminded me of a lost loved one. I love that you said this… I hope there’s something after death.
Incredible scene, especially 1:55 to 2:30.
This is the saddest scene in tv series history.
Henry Kissinger & Dick Cheney are alive. John Prine is dead. What a world.
GREAT scene from an awesome TV Series ❤
So heartbreaking 💔💔💔
Oh Boy... She is amazing...
This is mega, absolute tune this, what a voice, best version ❤️✊!!
I would have to agree. I would love a copy by this artist.

@@army_3000 the actor himself
Hot take: This should have been the ending shot!
Man. Yes.
Already loved the tune. Loved the show. How does this happen? ❤️
Absolutely this is the scene I will stop watching Ozark at. Better than the actual ending
The real ending of Ozark,
whe I saw this I was like: yep, this is the end right here ):
Where the two bobcats
It’s not meant to be the past it’s meant to an alternative present
I love this show, three just wanted to be there for Ruth after Wyatt’s passing
John Prine passed away from Covid few months before this scene was filmed
Cena fodastica !!!!
Can anyone tell me why Russ' face changes at 1:19? I'm so confused
what do you mean
I saw that too almost like it was supposed to mean something. Maybe different takes that weren't smoothed over better in editing

A song by the late great John Prine
I hate the development of three was never used
it could be due to the langmore curse. and, if they had developed his character he would have been killed
i think the point was that he was the only langmore that never got involved with the byrdes, in return he was the only one who lived
When i saw this scene i felt that Ruth is died already

this should of been the real ending

Who’s singing this Prine tune?
anyone know the chords hes playing?

Sorry to sound so naïve but I had hope that Ruth was going to live...
Ol gay bear can sing a tune
Russ did this better than the original.
hahaaa!
