The truth ist: He comes very close to Uwe Kröger - vocals and style both very similar - which is what makes his performance so strong. Yes, he is expressive, but not a parody of death. Some of the other singers were...unfortunately. To me it'll always be Uwe Kröger, but Market comes as a close second.
@@poppyseed890 I do like his performance a lot, but I personally also really like Maté Kamarás, he brings a kind of unhinged vibe to the role that is really fun. I also think Oliver Arno is great as Der Tod! Mark Seibert is probably my least favourite, but the problem isnt really him I think; 1) the boring leather fits make him look out of place and like he belongs in Shadowhunters (I miss the Mayerling dress now more than ever) 2) he is the most "masculine" again its giving BBC show instead of ethereal dark prince. Not to say the others arent obviously percieved as men, but their styling (especially with Uwe and Maté) suggests more androgyny and I think thats really cool for a personification of death 3) they made him do the downright embarassing cat toy bit in the Schönbrunn concert (WHY?! No seriously way to take the tragedy out of Rusolphs death. If they dont wanna kiss then AT LEAST give him sth less embarassing to do omg) I still love Mark as Der Tod, he has great stage presence, kind of reminiscent of Ramin Karimloos Phantom; and he retains the very dignified and elegant demeanor. Overall all have their pros and cons I didnt really mean to single Seibert out THAT HARD 😂

Martin Market is so unbelievably expressive XD. It's weird after so many stone faced Deaths.
So true... I didn't knew him at all, until today, but he seems so much stronger in acting than many other performers in this role...
