This cover feels like a bridge between the teenage feeling I get from the original and the fond memories I have when looking back on that time. No rose-tinted glasses here, just good times.
I've always said Antoine has the best right-hand technique of any guitar player. I'd like to think this video settles it. Not just the great percussive effects, and Antoine has always been great at busting out those harp harmonics, but that subtle upward brush across the strings he does several times in the verses to the song (you can see it when the camera closes in on his right hand) once again blows my mind. I also happen to think that nobody gets the balance between melody and technicality quite as perfect as Dufour does (tunes like "To Run in a Dream" and the recent "She is Music" are the best examples of that in my opinion).
Not to even slightly detract from this absolute masterpiece of a percussive fingerstyle arrangement, but this 'technique' is a bit niche. Watch classical or flamenco guys sometime. That's technique that's developed over years and years of crazy repetition.

One of the best songs from the 90's that carry us to powerful youth energy and hope. Brilliantly executed by a sophisticated mind.. I am so impressed thanks. The pumpkins are vastly under rated they are geniuses though. Like Antoine..

Man nobody rights a cover like Antoine Dufour, Andy McKee's are really good to but I feel Antoine's just connect to a different level, every playable and recreate able part of the song is represented, and executed with the flawless and effortless nature only that of a guitar master could ever achieve, I certainly live vicariously through your music thank Mr. Antoine
