Give me those great old, single cam, bolted together crankshafts, and all metal gear drive on the oil pumps and cam, on all the old Panheads, Shovelheads, Flatheads, and EVOs of yester year, when H-D, was great........they can keep their pressed together, lightweight crankshafts, silent chain drives, PLASTIC tensioners, TWINKIES........for all I care. These were the real Harleys.........great sound and reliability and easy to work on and rebuildable, all day long.........no plastic here...........Keep up the great work, Todd.......
Middle of winter,on a rainy night during rush hour traffic, down town San Francisco...suicide clutch, kick start, hand signal only, no front brake, no mirrors, no speedometer and a tiny gas tank half empty...now thats a skilled rider!
True_Alien_Link +505harleys years ago when I rode my Pan it was very similar to this. Only thing was raked out stock wishbone frame so SUPER low and BT in line springer, not a VL. I did the stuff mentioned too many times, just not in Frisco. I learned all about how to make a mechanical brake not suicidal. Today, I''m a lot older and my reactions much slower, so a front brake is needed.
reminds me of my old 59 FLH Pan Head rigid frame, foot clutch, suicide shift, no front brake, no spedo, 6" over springer & peanut tank. I wish I'd never sold that bike!
Coolest chop ever. Thanks for sharing. I totaled my 96" S&S Evo rigid 15 years ago, & sold the wreck to a biker from NW Arkansas. He gave me a chunk of money, a deer rifle, a 65 C-10 & a VL frame. It was like trading with the indians LOL. Wished I'd held onto to that frame. A Big Twin in that single loop is about the most minimalist motorcycle possible.
What an awsome machine. Gorgeous. It always amazes me the bikes i find on your videos Todd. It seems you jave an endless amount of videos to go through
Glad to see your still up and running Todd. New sub here.. I just bought a 55' Pan all matching numbers basket case. Really dig the channel and the knowledge you share. Thanks bro
One dogs barking it's a panhead. The other dogs barking shut the fu..k up I'm trying to listen. Sweet pan ,sounds like old harleys should. Like my shovel 40 " drag pipes. Gotta love em.
I like the videos you put out, keep the old school rolling. I've got a 48 fl I've had sense 1979 I was 19 when I got it. You should do a video of your stable maybe not. Thanks for sharing your videos
Ya sorry man, I spoke to soon I'm just starting to watch your videos, very impressive. I went down in September of 2014 broke C2 just got out of my 2nd surgery last week total neck fusion
Danny Tapia born free is the first thing i thought of when i saw the bike! i bet Todd could sell this there in a heartbeat. Todd looks too good on this thing, i got a feeling he is keeping it!
***** Danny Tapia not at all sure if I will go or not. I wasn't going to the Oley meet until mid morning yesterday either, but tomorrow I fly in. I life is way to spontaneous
i love knucks but am a panhead man to the Bone my main ride is a 62 I first built in 84 I have always wanted to build that bike rite there very cool but I'm to big for that frame at 6,4 270 I look l8ke I'm on a mini bike as much as I have always wanted a big Flathead I look like I need to get off and let the bike ride me but man what a sexy little bike people just want them for free these days the yuppies have flooded the market over here
HuntingHarleys not talking about early stuff but u can get evo softails that have less than 10 thousand miles for 4 grand and shovels in running condition for 3 to 35 hundred I just bought a twin cam police roadking that never saw service with 12 thousand miles with a factory custom paint job for 4 grand people are giving bikes away panheads will still cost u 10 grand around here but like I said not talking about the old good stuff
That's about what they go for around the USA right now. The difference is they bring around $1000 more here, and that is roughly what it takes to find and ship one, thus the same price.
Todd: Do you offer a consulting service? I would like to ask you questions about the bikes that you post and other Harley subjects, but I don't like being a leach. How can I pay you for answering a few questions?
Antonio Smith sorry about the late reply, I've been out of town. I don't put my prices on the open internet. Your welcome to email me at huntingharleys@gmail.com
+roland fitzgerald I haven't personally built bikes for customer's or resale since the 1980's. The reason I stopped is, for me, bad way to make a living. Any bike building I have done since then has been either contracted out to area mechanic's or in years past, in house mechanic's. There is simply not enough time to chase bikes and resell them and also be a bike builder and do any type of quantity.
Had a bike similar to that in the sixties. My Dad could never figure out why I wore my shoes out every six weeks or so. Thanks for sharing.
By far the best sounding and looking bike I've seen you feature. Just beautiful as it is.
Respect your knowledge and passion for these bikes.
+EBthere I love this machine, it is unfortunate I also lost money on it

+True_Alien_Link --- Maybe you made a typo, but they didn't make Panheads in 1945... The first year was 1948...
Biker Tramp yeah i meant it was 1945 WLA springer front end, scary ride from what i remember
reminds me of my old 59 FLH Pan Head rigid frame, foot clutch, suicide shift, no front brake, no spedo, 6" over springer & peanut tank. I wish I'd never sold that bike!

Ya sorry man, I spoke to soon I'm just starting to watch your videos, very impressive. I went down in September of 2014 broke C2 just got out of my 2nd surgery last week total neck fusion
Tru Chaos OMG that's horrible! At least your alive to tell the tale. Plenty of videos here to help prevent boredom
That has born free written all over it.. can't wait to see the bikes this year.. will you be attending? ?

That’s gold
killer bike
Sweet.
that thing is fucking rad
What a beautiful machine. Do you list any of these bikes online or do you sell them at swaps/shows?
Would be more fun if it had a jockey top instead of the ratchet top.with a Bud Or Coors taphandle for a shifter!
Hey Tod if the opportunity ever arises maybe you can put up a video of a paned knuckle frame.
Rey Solis you mean a Knuckle frame with a Pan stuffed in it?
Yes
Rey Solis if I ever get one again, there will be a video of it.

HuntingHarleys Alabama
How is it the yuppies have flooded the market with stuff not made since the 60s?
HuntingHarleys not talking about early stuff but u can get evo softails that have less than 10 thousand miles for 4 grand and shovels in running condition for 3 to 35 hundred I just bought a twin cam police roadking that never saw service with 12 thousand miles with a factory custom paint job for 4 grand people are giving bikes away panheads will still cost u 10 grand around here but like I said not talking about the old good stuff

This has to be my favorite panhead you have ever had. Love that frame. U still got it? Or any idea where it went?
Sold to a guy in North Los Angeles, in the San Fernando Valley. He sold some years later, no idea to who
My birthday year ( dammit)!
the hard to find VL frt forks.
Cool Beans, What size is the rear rim and tire? The rear fender looks British?
+Martin Cvitkovich yes, the rim is British, or made after a British style. very common in the current bobber trend. The rear wheel / tire is 3.50/19
where are the bikes for sale with prices...(!)
Todd: Do you offer a consulting service? I would like to ask you questions about the bikes that you post and other Harley subjects, but I don't like being a leach. How can I pay you for answering a few questions?
How would I get ahold of you to buy one ?

Antonio Smith sorry about the late reply, I've been out of town. I don't put my prices on the open internet. Your welcome to email me at huntingharleys@gmail.com

Are you still building bikes?
+roland fitzgerald I haven't personally built bikes for customer's or resale since the 1980's. The reason I stopped is, for me, bad way to make a living. Any bike building I have done since then has been either contracted out to area mechanic's or in years past, in house mechanic's.
