That is true. It’s harder for independent artists/ or signed to independent labels to get charted and receive airplay. For example, back in the day most dance music artists were on independent labels (unless they came from Europe where it’s more mainstream). When their tracks crossed over from the dance charts to the Billboard Top 40, Top 100, or even the Top 200 album charts, even if it was in the middle toward the lower end of the charts, they were considered highly successful. If their videos got played on MTV2 or even MTV even better.

I’m so proud of how Candiace held her own! She really proved that she is a great singer & can handle what is thrown at her. Candiace grew on me this whole reunion. It humanized her. Not that disliked her, she’s just childish. All of her defense mechanisms from years of emotional abuse from Dot are outshining her personality. She seems like a good person and when she’s not throwing lettuce. Candiace grew on me this whole reunion. It humanized her. Not that disliked her, she’s just childish. All of her defense mechanisms from years of emotional abuse from Dot are outshining her personality. She seems like a good person and when she’s not throwing lettuce.
Anyway, I commend her and others who follow their dreams of becoming a musician. Public and internet criticism is ruthless. If she can think about when all of ladies, production and Andy coming to relish in that moment with her, she can see that not everyone is against her.
It’s a mixed bag for me. The women censored themselves when responding to her. I like the fact that Andy tried something different. "I See You" has been my ringtone for months now, and I have no desire to change it, and "Drive Back" was dope. I've been meaning to listen to the rest of her album, but she has gotten off to a really good start. Nicki hates it when people come for her musically knowing she stole whole bars from Lil Kim, but what she tried to do to Candiace as an aspiring artist was not cool. However, Candiace has to own some of why Nicki came for her too. If she hadn't been so busy trying to put the cape on for Ashley and sat there and ate her food, that probably never would've happened.
