    😲That is stunning! 🥰I love how whimsical and dreamy your art is! Looking at the pattern on the whale's back, it reminds me of a dragon ... I'll bet you could do an amazing dragon ... a friendly one, though - they are nearly always depicted as ferocious, and I dont think they are. Thank you for this lovely video!

    This is amazing, I found your videos yesterday and it has been very inspiring. I had been watercolour painting last August but lost my spark with it over the winter. I want to get back into it and I love your creativity and imagination. Im going to try some of these techniques soon.

    I love this, I'm going to give these techniques a go - but can you advise me if you copy the whale outline from a photo, do you have to buy a licence to use the photograph? Thank you. 💕

      Thank you! That sounds great! I use references but it’s not a direct copy from anyone reference. Once I understand the key features of the whale I draw it myself into the pose I want for my scene 💙

    This is lovely and I would love to see you explaining just how some of these techniques are done!I teach a group of seniors basic WC techniques ( no charge) but this video has so many and I am not sure they will understand! I am giving them your RUclips pages to watch but even I am not sure how you are using the mask for the dots on whale. And I didn’t see you putting dots on background. But amount they can learn from you is exceptional! So glad I stumbled upon your site!

    Beautiful work, I do love to watch you paint and I learn something with each video. I like to use frisket to preserve my whites but I find when I've used half the bottle the frisket gets dry and lumpy and I have to buy a fresh bottle again which is expensive. Are there any tips for keeping the frisket from drying in the bottle and becoming unusable?

    Also I would love to see how you would paint a dragon/unicorn. I love dragons and wolves. I used an AI app to see what a dragon unicorn might look like and it was realy cool. I want to try more fantasy paintings I think I’d feel more free because it’s not like a flower or something that if you get “wrong” no one will realy notice it just because part of the art.

    I am really new to watercolor. I am a acrylic painter so bare with me when I ask could I use white acrylic paint over the watercolor ? Would that alter it or ruin it ? Thank you very pretty

    • @ChristopherMaxwellArt
      @ChristopherMaxwellArt  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yes certainly, you can use your white acrylic for highlights etc. I wouldn’t mix it into the watercolour but on top when everything is dry would work fine. It won’t affect your painting 💙

    I love this piece so much. Was going to buy the original but it was already sold. Obviously! Can you perhaps share with us, what water colors you use, if it's not a trade secret. I am new to water colors. I bought three different kinds and very expensive paper but I am not sure about the water colors I am using. Maybe it's me, I am sure it is since I am new to water colors.
    Perhaps a video on how to mix water colors and other basic techniques you wished you had known when you first started. :) I love your videos.

      Never mind on the water colors you use. I saw in your shadow and light mushroom tutorial video which brand you use. Thank you for sharing that.

    Hello ! Something i've always wondered: how do you cut the masking tape without cuting the paper underneath ? I've just discovered you on instagram and find your work beautiful and really inspiring !

    • @we4r119
      @we4r119 9 месяцев назад

      Only put enough pressure on your sharp blade to cut through one layer of paper. You have to use a lot of pressure to cut through the masking tape and the paper. 😊. Have a practice on some scrap paper to gage how deep you need to cut. Alternatively, you can apply a light pressure and cut and cut/score until you’re through the masking tape, however, I think you are more likely to cut through your paper with the latter technique.
      A second point is, it doesn’t matter if you break the surface and 'score' or scratch the paper, because it will give you a nice sharp edge. Hope this helps. 😊

    When i ise maskng tape on watercolor paper it makes it rough when i pull it off. Maybe wrong tape?

    • @ChristopherMaxwellArt
      @ChristopherMaxwellArt  Год назад

      Sounds like it’s to adhesive, the type of paper you’re using also has an impact, you should be able to remove the tape without any noticeable damage to the paper. I use Arches paper and no brand masking tap 💙
