I recently got the DCD800 with powerstack batteries and that combo is amazing. A bit shorter runtime, but the 1.7AH powerstack batteries have the power of 5.0AH AH XR batteries. It's amazing. That combo with the 800 and 850 is excellent. I haven't gotten the 850 yet but will very soon.
That said, my most used drill is the dewalt 12v 5 in 1 driver. It's about 1lb less than the 800 and handles most everything around the house. My screwgun is also a dewalt, the dcf601. It's crazy light and powerful enough.
    Congrats on the new tools!

Dude Im about ready to give up on the m12 hammer drill. I’ve gone through 3 in 3 years.
Now I carry my black sub compact Makita 18v cause I’m tired of the m12 chuck skipping and grinding. All the m12 drills have the same issue. After a couple of months the chuck just gets all whacked out. It grinds or gets stuck when tightening or when drilling the chuck slips or even grinds out. Milwaukee strong but not made to last man. Considering upgrading to the new gen m12 drill

The way the 18v lines are getting more powerful and more compact is almost making 12v obsolete. As the new pouch cell batteries start coming out, I think the compact 18v tools will take over the 12v

I'm leary of compact tools. After I bought the Dewalt compact reciprocating saw (DCS367B), the vibration is brutal. I would like to know if that compact impact driver vibrates more than your old one. Vibration gets really old if you have to work one for a couple of hours every day and can cause permanent injuries. That compact drill looks to be a sweet size. I'm surprised that it's shorter than the m12. You may have gotten my wallet in trouble showing me that. Every once in a while, I see that Dewalt offers a starter set of a couple of batteries and a charger that usually comes with an offer of a free tool. If you're looking to get into the powerstack, that might be a hot ticket for you, with Memorial Day sales just around the corner.

Thats why i went with the Extreme 12v mini or the 20v Atomic recip saw.
The Atomic has a swivel base.
      And the vibration is low.
You can use it one handed.
Extreme 12v is decent too, except the blade foot doesn't adjust.
I wish they made it adjustable.
Maybe they'll make an upgrade kit.
I use them all the time.
The recip saw your talking about I used, and it vibrates so bad...
      I hated it...
I took it back...and bought the other ones.
The older larger ones, I've used since the mid 80s.
      And they're too big...and lunky.
Especially just to cut a few boards and a pipe or two.

Try the Atomic one...or the Extreme 12v.

Dcs367b is their compact version so ya it's going to vibrate more. It's better to buy their full size one which is heavier and has less vibration. The smaller and lighter it is, the more vibration.

You’re thinking hammer drills and I’m thinking hammers! I just ordered two 2 oz Vaughan ball peen hammers from Canada of all places but they were the only ones that had it on a jewelry website. Originally I tried to get one from grace tools then Snap-On but they both discontinued and turns out it’s made by Vaughan and I happen to find the last two in stock that I could find on the internet. 2 oz sounds silly to most people but with my tekton punch set that’s perfect for pushing little pins. On firearms you really only need a 2 and a 4oz. I bought 2 so that I could sell one online to cover the cost of the one and it turned out to be the last 2 they had. I spoke to the girl on the phone and she said she was wondering why they have been selling that specific hammer like crazy.

The hammer function is really overrated and oversold, I have a cheap rotary sds I just want a drill. Nice to see a drill in a kit
You will have to post updates on that atomic impact, a guy in the shop just got one and it’s underwhelming, he borrows m12s to get out screws his atomic won’t. Don’t know if it’s his batteries, that specific one might be bad, or who knows what. I think Dewalt makes good tools so I told him to exchange it, before 30 days are up to avoid warranty hassles if it’s bad. A mediocre 18-20 volt tool should get anything a 12v will let alone a “premium” line. And I think for dewalt it’s XR, atomic then the max in power and feature best to worst
My money is on my m12 right angle drill for tight spots, make fun of the design but I get better leverage to drill and screw than with an adapter or regular drill/impact
I see good reviews on the installation drivers ,both brands but that’s cabinets and the whole profiles just don’t look like they would work well in the tight spots I seem to work sometimes, not as concerned with getting fasteners as close to the edge as what they seem designed for. That just seems like the 6” bit and a slight angle for those as the tool and attachments take up more space than a long bit. We use r2 or sq2 and I have to use pliers to get screws off my Bosch bits so that’s my recommendation for tight spots. And the real trick is keeping the fasteners on the bit
Makita used to make a bit magnet that is bullet shaped and now you have to get generic ones that aren’t quite as good but still work well. They magnetize the whole bit well even when at the chuck so you can get the bit in a hole too small for the magnetized bit holder or the other little magnets you put on the end that break too easily.
Good bit and good magnet = easier fastener installation. For sq bits Bosch and Makita. The rest are garbage. For ph2 I can use any with same results, Milwaukee, Dewalt, Makita, Bosch, Ryobi, generics all work better with a drill than an impact as no ph2 works well with an impact, have to push so much harder
Some of the manufacturers use an 8 pt or double square head the Milwaukee works best on, it’s a hair bigger slot and the Milwaukee bit is a hair bigger and why it’s garbage sq2/r2. Stupid fastener looks like a torx and nothing fits well actually I throw them away when if I remove, drives the shop Forman nuts if I do slide out and replace those 100 screws that are perfectly fine
Lol. How the topic changes and the rant starts on a comment
