Rachel, these are just fantastic! I have not seen samplers for years. I used to go to estate auctions in Missouri and saw a few sell for a near fortune! I never got one that was in decent shape from the late 1800. These copies are beautiful! Love your project. Thanks for sharing your great ideas!

I really enjoyed the first sampler that you made I think that would make into a lovely digital kit that type of paper tag and paper. Here in Ontario Canada we’re still in lockdown and I am watching the birds and the squirrels feed at our outdoor feeders as I sew surgical gown and listen to you craft. I hope things are opening up in Italy and that you’re able to get outside you’ve been to the beach so you must be able to.
Things have opened up here. We have to wear a mask when inside shops etc and near other people. There are still restrictions as to how many people can go in a shop at one time but otherwise we are free to move around as usual. I hope you are well and safe. Thank you so much!

Oh what an amazing inspiration. I volunteer at The Walters Art Museum in Baltimore. They recently had an exhibit on The Glasgow School of Art. They displayed some of Ann Macbeth’s work. TY for sharing.

I really love what you have created with the samplers. Back in the 80s and 90s,I did quite a bit of cross stitching and have at least 3 alphabet samplers. The envelope is so darling also thank you Rachel for taking me back in time❤❤❤❤
Beutiful . Here in Norway we call it name cloth. Very usual that the bride embroidered one to the marrige. Not normal now. It was often alphabet, different stitc and pattern. It was a sign of how good skils the bride had( in the 1800)😀

Neat! Love samplers. I think there are Jewish symbols on the sampler you used for the third card....a menorah, synagogue, even the deer. Maybe more if I could have gotten a closer look.....
Possibly, I read an interesting article about what sampler could tell us about the girl or lady who sewed them. Through their symbols they often give insight to thier beliefs and views. Thank you so much!
