Because he is, almost every character in the anime are German even the songs and their names are German
@@friedensprachschuler542 yeah they weren’t saying he’s not German; they were saying (in their opinion), he actually looks like he is German (I suppose this is in comparison to the anime where the OP doesn’t think he looks as Germanic). Personally I think he looks of German/European descent well enough in the anime too but I just wanted to clarify what OP meant.

Studios have proven themselves time and time _and time_ again to be incapable of adapting animes to a live-action style, nor should they aspire to try. Almost virtually everything that makes anime good is lost when converted to a live-action format.
