Beautiful city Steve !! as I'd mentioned in the past, order yourself a cheap samsung "head phone set" for an old android phone off ebay, cut off the ear pieces and tape inside your helmet use that during rainy days. Those cheap head phones of samsung for an android phone only cost a couple quid. The samsung head phones have the same jack size as the media mod (3.5") and can withstand the rain and its better than the destroying another expensive microphone.

Thanks Peter! Yes, me and rain… Malta was a little diversion, I’m writing this on a new, big tour, in my tent and today has been blue skies and sunshine. And it’s been hot too! It probably won’t last… 😂
Looks like some cracking roads . Pity you didn’t get the CRF. Hope to god they didn’t charge full price for the CBX … And I think you could have described the rain as Biblical, and that wouldn’t have been an exaggeration by the river flowing down the road . Excellent episode again and hopefully the mod and mic survived 😮
Hi Mark, thank you! They tried to charge me more for the CBX but I was having none of it and got a discounted price thank goodness.. Yep, the mic and media mod survived on this occasion… boy did it rain!! Currently sat in my tent replying to you whilst properly on tour again. Today has been blue skies and sunshine!!! 😁

The cheek trying to charge more glad you stood by your guns and got it cheaper Pleased the mic survived , can be costly . Have you thought about a dedicated audio recorder you fire in your pocket and can hook a mic up to ? Worse case if the mic dies it’s £10. Just a bit more editing to do to match the audio up Enjoy the trip and hope the weather stay good
Yes, I’m most definitely not in the UK and it’s coming to a screen near you in the next couple of weeks! (There is some rain involved, to start with at least…) That’s a good idea re a dedicated audio capture; definitely something I should look into for bad weather days 🙂
"always take the weather with you" Im sure were the lyrics - went to Malta but never ddi it by bike so thats one on the list ;-) hiring bikes though can be very hit and miss so I guess as long as it moves its a plus...
