Ironically, there is an akshay kumar ad before every movie in theatres that says don't smoke cigarettes.
In late 90s & early 2000s there used to be Akshay Kumar ad before the movies for Red & White cigarettes
That & Vicco vajradanti were always there before every movie

But you're not seeing the point here, India banned ads on tobacco and smoking back in 90s. But Indian companies found a loophole around this, they started making ads that promote elaichi (a fragrant spice) and that they don't include tobacco in them, and then selling their tobacco separately packaged along with the pan masala. Same goes to club soda endorsing alcohol, the same company that makes the soda also makes alcoholic beverages.

Yes, they market their tobacco and elichi products under a same company name, but to do that they have to first sale certain number of elichi products and have certain number of profit generated annually.. then and only then they are allowed to do surrogate advertisement.

In the ads, there's soo much they can show.. i m a doc, have worked in the govt sector, and have faced an issue where sooo many people have no awareness regarding soo many programs run by the govt..they could shed some light over those.. Mr. Amitabh Bachchan sir has done soo many adds with RBI, mutual funds n all.. informative adds with public awareness could be incorporated.. 🤷🏾♂️

If not for these commercials, no one would have known about certain products. Every kind of product/service requires advertisement. These people who require advertisement go to these advertisement agencies and ask them to make commercials. Every small actor/actress has started from these commercials. Heck even the models do these commercials as part of collaboration. These days the influencers do such collaboration

A good example for this is elachi ( saffron ) to pan masala.
( they said it is a saffron and sugar based product and you can't find this product in market also ).

The funniest thing is the ad played before this video were both alcohol and tobacco ads with IPL players.

So the thing IMO about these stupid ads are- they are quick to make so it doesn't take the athlete's too much time to get into shoot, get out. They are easily digestible and non offensive, but most importantly they are going quantity over quality for these advertisements. They play the same advert with multiple people multiple times during a match and bank on pretty much grinding down the viewer. It's supposed to cater to a large audience, without being too different and should be able to run for 2 months without generating any controversy
I remember how they showed something similar in Rocky 2 where they make Rocky do a perfume ad.
Huge Respect To Cristiano Ronaldo 💕💕in this case. He just swipe out 2coke bottle and drop down 400 million dollars and encourage youngsters to drink water instead of Coke.

For kind information in India there is ban on advertisement of tobacco and alcohol but these companies use loopholes by advertising different products to sell different product.

The thing is since it's a very short league spanning one month things like sketches and other take a load of time for players. This is perfect thing they can do. Make them dance on the popular songs for 2 min and boom you get your ad. Since ads too are like extremely short as the gap is 2 minutes or so. I don't watch cricket but this the best thing they can do
Just for your info, the packet shown in these ads (vimal ads) is not a tabbaco product it is sweet cardamom or paan masala, these are surrogate ads becouse we can't advertise tabbaco or alcohol products in India, they indirectly promoting tabbaco. 😂 even James bond had done these ads in India 😂, so you can conclude that money offered will be very high

There should be a law like if they are using that product by themselves for a certain amount of time then only they can endorse to advertise it.
There's a video of Akshay Kumar saying that people who don't take care of their body must go k*ll themselves (not lying). He was (and still is, by many people) considered to be the healthiest actor in Bollywood, due to his claims about his lifestyle. That's why people these days are raging against his ad choices. At least after this incident, I hope (sooner or later) that people will learn to take celebrities' opinions and "facts about themselves" with a grain of salt. At the end of the day, they're humans - like all of us - who will fall for stacks of money, when offered during the right time.
