Direct Express Auto Transport can ship your car . I use them to ship our cars to/from Charlotte and LA once or twice a year and I’m almost positive it’s always cheaper than $1200 . Look into them girl .
I moved to LA from NYC last year. How I lowered moving cost was by putting some of my moving boxes in my car, which the company that moved my car allowed. I would definitely suggest that to lower the amount of boxes that the moving company would have to move, only if the car moving company allows this. Hopefully that's helpful!
Sabrae Thompkins Regardless of moving the car from NC to LA, there’s options that are probably cheaper to ship or have family/friends move the boxes from NYC to NC. This may be extra work for some people, and it may be worth the extra work to save cost in other areas. Few years ago I moved from MD to LA and I’d recommend that you just buy new stuff in LA. I took two massive suitcases on the plane with me and shipped maybe 1 box. Leave the furniture and sell it, unless it’s sumthing you feel you cant replace. Moving is a great time to get down to the bare minimum and start over
Jayla, I moved to LA from Houston, TX. I used Uhaul UBoxes...look into that option as well. It was cheaper than utilizing a moving services. It cost me around $900-$1000 to ship my car as well...I would say I spent about $3500-$4000 to move to LA.

Be very careful I moved from GA to LA at first I hired a moving company called Priceline moving and storage. They gave me an estimate of about $2200 come moving day they come up to my apartment and tell me that now the cost is over $3400. Luckily I had a month before I start my job. I cursed them out and canceled the move. They refused to refund my deposit of $600. I open a dispute with my bank luckily my bank refunded me my money. I asked friends and one of my friends had 2 friends who were willing to drive my things all the way to LA. I rented a truck , paid then a fee and gas it was about $2500. Be very careful with those moving companies who are brokers they are thieves, hike up prices on moving day and can hold your belongings hostage delivery day if you refuse to pay their hiked up prices. Find some friends, rent a truck and drive to LA make it a road trip it’s the only safe way. Good luck!
Label each box what it is in the box and basically keep inventory of your items because things either get lost or get takened when you move far away. Thats what we did when my family moved around due to the military.

With suitcases you can put a lock on your suitcase where no one is able to open your suitcases !! That what I did to from CT to CA! You can't ship your furniture through them . Just to be specific lol you gotta learn to talk ppl down on some prices . It only cost 700 to ship my car . Talk to a Mexican or some they'll work with you . Mind you I am a an hour -2 away from NYC ! Another thing , you should get the clear bags that you can add clothes in and use the vacuum to flatten the bags to put into the boxes or suitcases they help a lot !!!

You seem to navigate better using public transportation (trains, Uber). Moving is expensive. Or have your friends come over and have a packing party and save some money. I just moved last year. I live in MD and spent $2k. I bought boxes from the Home Depot and got used items from Craigslist or stores. There is also a service called Bungo boxes I saw Raven Elyse use that are plastic and maybe cheaper.

Most won't allow you to do it, they go by weight and if the car is shipped on a open haul truck their is a risk of someone breaking into the car to steal your stuff. Better to take your expensive stuff to your moms house and ship that later once you get there and settled in

pixie1doll she sure can but the car shipping company has to agree to that. Some don’t like you doing that. I did that with one and the moving company refused to take my car so I had to find a new car moving company
Most won't allow you to do it, they go by weight and if the car is shipped on a open haul truck their is a risk of someone breaking into the car to steal your stuff. Better to take your expensive stuff to your moms house and ship that later once you get there and settled in
