A clarifying note on PCBOBNHOR: - While what is said in the video is true regarding the restrictions on the runner only being able to optionally trash Programs before installation, it is perhaps a bit misleading. - If a runner has a console installed (Unique hardware, limit one console per player) they can install a second, and then once installed the *game* automatically trashes any other copy of that unique card, or any other console on the board. - The same is true for a unique Resource (such as The Class Act or Miss Bones) Thanks to those of you who pointed this out!
Really like this style of vid from you guys - and *please* keep doing beginner Netrunner content because there just isn't enough out there and it's criminal for a game this good.
I guess for a beginner like me, the most tricky part is the PAID ABILITY WINDOW timing/structure and related card's ability to trigger during that window. Good video, thanks
As a semi new player, this was such a great video to watch. Would have taken me months to figure these stuff out myself, sending this to my mtg group that I'm teaching. cheers
Great videos - have a lot to watch as coming beginner - but i saw your great chip solution for the tokens - is there also a new group order for EU planned maybe ?
Thank you! The group chip order for the EU was organized by user OF15-15 - you could reach out to them on discord (join GLC - link is in the description of all our videos). I have shipped one set of poker chips to Europe but the shipping costs were very high.
Great video Eric. The section about over installing is maybe a little wrong though. As a runner you can trash a unique resource to install a new copy of one (most relevant case being The Class Act) You can also trash a Console to instal either a new copy of the same console (esp. relevant to Masterwork) or to install a Different console. I think by the definition you’ve given for Overwriting cards both of these examples would fall under it?
Baa - *Technically* I am correct (which is usually the best kind of correct but here perhaps not). You can’t pre-trash Hardware or resources per the NSG rules, but you can install unique resources and then the game trashes one of them for you, which is a bit different mechanically but yes upon publishing the video I regretted not having a section that says “…but don’t worry about remembering PCBOBNHOR it because here’s why it doesn’t really matter.”
Nope! Check out this section of the comprehensive rules guide: rules.nullsignal.games/?r=rule_install_trash_like_cards Jnet lets you break all sorts of rules, gotta be careful about using it as a rules reference. Very cool for me that this video helped spread some knowledge!
You don't overinstall consoles, but you can install a second console and if you do the game trashes the first one, which is different because it means there's no time where your MU goes down before going back up

Nick's lively and engaged participation in this video is an inspiration. As a fellow sidecar streamer, I have so much to learn from him.
I couldn’t have asked for a more dedicated and talented cohost. Coming from you Pat he must be blushing, wherever he is.

Thanks so much! We definitely have more beginner Netrunner content on the way!

The Paid Ability Window is on our short list for topics to cover in upcoming videos. Good call

Glad it helped! Really fun hearing this kind of stuff - best of luck with teaching your friends!
Great video, very informative thanks. Didn't realise you could use Nico Campaign to advance any card.
Seamless Launch*, but great! Happy to have been able to spread some knowledge :)
"Do you like words and being real specific about them? Well buckle up."
This is how Netrunner should be introduced to literally everyone. 😂
You're not far off. It is a game for those who can appreciate specificity.
you folks are flourishing, hydrated, unbothered. slay
This may be the highest compliment I have ever received.
@@neonstaticpod well deserved! you all put in a lot of work to help the game be approachable for everyone
Great Video, peak quality content

Great video, very informative and entertaining!
What a lovely little piece.
This video is great! Would love more in this style
Don’t you worry!
what a stylish and intriguing video
also shout out to whoever got PCBOBNHOR on jnet before I could
I see what you did there.

0:00 Eric after reading Paragon has lost his mind.
This is canon.
One of my favourite neon static moments of all time
awesome intro
me when netrunner
Nice one guys :)
Thanks James!
> But not hardware
Wait but I heard somewhere that overinstalling consoles is a thing, no? I'm pretty sure jnet allowed me to do it a couple times.
Nope! Check out this section of the comprehensive rules guide: rules.nullsignal.games/?r=rule_install_trash_like_cards
Jnet lets you break all sorts of rules, gotta be careful about using it as a rules reference.

Oh wow, consoles have a special 3.8.5.b section specifically for this purpose! Normally I dislike special cases, but this one makes a lot of sense.
