I believe 6 o'clock means the direction (military way of saying) to where the body dropped. When he says "I saw the body drop on the 6 o'clock" it would actually mean he saw the body fall backwards.

I'm pretty sure it's about the 6 o'clock news. I think it's supposed to imply that the news was reporting on the incident when the person died.
