Game does not look bad even today. You can still play it on xbox one, it is backward compatibile. It looks bettter on PC though, and it does not need high tech pc to play it.

alan friedl if you played the two games and watched the shorts, you can play some of this games:
-Woolfe: Red Hood Diaries, very similar to Alice but was discontinued so there is only one part.
-Akanerio: Demon Hunters, it's development by the same studio of Madness Returns, but is very different
-Gretel and Hansel, a flash game that is a twisted version of Hansel and Gretel
i think the game still looks pretty awesome despite the years it has under its belt, so to speak.
and it ABSOLUTELY deserves a third installment!

Malefizia actually there is Alice: Otherlands that is composed by two shorts named "Leviathan" and "One Night in the Opera"; in this chapter Alice enters the other people's wonderlands (Otherlands), like the mind of Jules Verne. There are some other art with Alice entering other minds

This game isn't scary or creepy at all, it's acturally one of my favorites. I guess I just love the dark story and beautiful graphics and basically because it's a different twist on the story of Alice. Plus who doesn't love the Cheshire Cat and his voice!!!
+anime931aj I think for people who are into psychological horror, they wouldn't find it scary. As a fan of this kind of genre, I found it more interesting and was surprised that they went as far as they did lol

Well it is psychological horror after all. I mean, Alice the Madness series isn't suppose to be scary in the gore sense but more-so on the themes it has in it. Child Prostitution is one of the darkest things ever conceived and I was quite surprised the game went that far lol.

It is a little funny. I think in-game Alice is beautiful, but she looks a lot more like her AMA counterpart in this trailer (with a bit floofier hair). I actually think she looks better in game than here in some ways. I'm not sure why, I guess because her face seems very wide to me? But actually to fit the original Alice, I think both designs need a narrower face/more pinched expression. I feel like they kind of went with more East Asian features for the final design, but both are nice. I haven't finished playing the first one, yet, but once I finished Madness Returns, I was a little disappointed, actually. I thought it would be much longer. The gameplay was very fun, the story wasn't quite what I expected, the weapons/fighting is much more appealing to me than AMA as far as visuals go. I'm looking forward to Otherlands and hope it gets enough support to be adapted to a video game eventually.

The first tralier was just badass, the second one was just awesome, the third is fantastic and the actual trailer is very unique. I ended up getting the video game. It took my a year and 11 months to complete it. Love it so much💗💖💕

Finished this on the xbox when it first came out. Started playing this again on PC just recently. Even though 10 years have passed, the gfx are still amazing beyond belief. Some scenes are breathtakingly beautiful. The Japanese team that worked on this made a stunning piece of genuine art, not just a video game.

I truly hope the 3rd and last sequel of this series will one day come out. The 2 first games themselves are pretty average on a technical aspect, but it's the artistic and story parts that are really blowing the player. In fact, the first game didn't age well, even with the fanmod made from madness returns, and I had a hard time replaying it in 2020. It would truly deserve a remake with better graphics, animations, level design and controls. If they do that, even today it would be a great hit.

It's interesting because I imagine these trailers were made before the game was complete. So even they didn't have a clear idea what this game would turn into. Even in the beta gameplay you can see a lot changed before the final release of the game. She wanders through London and can even jump while in London. There's even a scene where she closes the door on a man chasing her. So maybe the red coat was seen in game. Maybe she did pass by a window like that. You can see the White Rabbit in a cutscene for a brief moment, where he isn't in the one snail shell trial but in Wonderland alive. He could of had a bigger role. We will never know. It still is an amazing game, and re-watching these always brings the same type of nostalgia and joy.
I bet McGee was like: Ok here's an idea- lets make a horror Alice in Wonderland thing!

Camila Calvo this was actually based on the original Alice. The Lewis Carrol's (and Disney, which was inspired by Lewis's book ) version is kind of a more "family friendly" version of alice

The teaser Alice looks beauty and even psycho than the final version, but i think i still prefer the in-game model having a smoother face. It's a shame that she doesn't do a psychopath smile in game.

I just got this game for Christmas!! My wife was playing a computer version we "got" but I played it first try up to the menacing ruin and had to look how to beat it lol. LOVE THIS GAME. Its like fable with the graphics, Alice is HOT lmao this game kicks ass

Hurting myself by watching this after the news from American McGee saying that Alice Asylum is officially dead because EA don't want to produce the game, and don't want to sell the rights to allow McGee to try funding the game with another publisher... I hate this.

Freddy Fazbear Thanks for stating the obvious. That's normal. With renders you can go insane on the quality. No one has to run those except for the machine that's rendering it, thus you can make very high quality textures and such. The actual game has limitations on how much polygons it can display, and how detailed the textures are. More of those, and the PC requirements to run it increase as well. Furthermore, the trailers contained concept art that didn't make the cut in the real game. American McGee doesn't have the budget of a triple A production studio.

I just finished the game today and I loved it! No tutorials needed to help me through the game like my other games. Its fantastic! love it!
And I love how the trailers from 1st to the final one, how much it changed. Which is a good thing lol.
It is a very enjoyable game, if you are able to look past all its technical flaws. Makes me wonder how absolutely fantastic this game could have been if it was developed by a high budget team.

I just finished the game and dude WHAT A GAME. I was wondering if the graphics would annoy me because I am used to the hyper realistic 4k but I wasn't bothered at all. The plot is complex and beautiful so as the scenarios, enemies, everything. Such a masterpiece :D
Caterpillar and Mad Hatter looks so different from their in-game designs, which are a lot better and looks more like the first game.

I still feel the best one was the last one - the gameplay footage one, the CG ones didn't do it any justice at all. Shame the budget and time ran dry before they finished

It is merely the trailer, though it would have been awesome if they cinema was of that quality. The worlds are beautiful and still amazing to look at. I totally recommend this game
The last clip stays true to the game and tells us some of the story (at east the very beginning) while the other clips depict the image of 'madness' in this new Alice. That's why they're different. Also because they probably made the teasers before they had actually completed the game.

I feel like this kind of thing is what they wanted to do with Epic Mickey, originally, but to a lesser extent. According to the concept art, it was going to be quite a dark, gritty game, which I honestly would have preferred over the final product.
They are pre rendered visually made series. As opposed to in game rendering the difference is that those took as much as 50 hours to change from a bunch of blocks to smooth lighting and non-visual polygons.

Alice from Alice in Wonderland was based off of a real life girl named Alice Liddell. She has brown hair and green eyes so the game is based off of that Alice, giving her a more realistic taste.

I was just thinking that I almost would've liked to have seen that more Clamation style of game. I liked her face better. She looked a less passive actor. (Though, I suppose, since the whole thing is a war with herself she can be nothing *but* active. And the ending is cathartic in that finally-taking-control-of-her-life way.)
Still, I love the game to pieces just how it is, too. The build-up and lack of release with the nonexistent boss battles notwithstanding.
