Sounds like you found a solution that works for you! Squarespace does handle tag urls differently than other platforms which sometimes causes SEO/broken link issues when moving content over.

i think there was an issue with the space between the tag, with the minus -, or empty space. i now only label my blog posts with ONE WORD no spaces.

Sorry to hear that! Basically tags and categories are for people. Don't try to over optimize them for search or use too many.
