My father started his teacher’s job in Donnavoor during 1930 and he knew Amy Carmichael. He used to tell me when I as a kid about that wonderful selfless missionary. Thank you for bringing her great service to our Lord and Saviour!
I loved the story, but the ladies voice and accent is terrible. Sorry, it sounds a bit cheesy. I lived near her house. She had a strong county down accent although probably changed as she moved around. This cheesy voice is a bit off putting tbh

Early childhood education is a fantastic opportunity for making a difference in the lives of the children and their families. I work in this area and I love it! 😍
I am so grateful for this kind Lady who brought the light of God into my country, my people and rescued innocent children who were dedicated as temple girls. Her efforts were paid off when India outlawed the temple prostitution in 1948.
I had the joy of staying at the Dohnavur Fellowship with my family a few weeks ago. Such a blessing to see the dedication of decendants of Amy's rescued children (and others) continuing the legacy of Amy's call of God apon her life. The hospital, nursing home, leprosy ward, and the school are all continuing to operate in sometimes difficult financial times but always with that same incredible innocent strong unmoving faith that Jesus will provide. I couldn't think of a better Godly cause to support if anyone is moved to do so. Graham Dwyer (Australia) October 2023.

I heard this story here in the USA, from well known practicing MD's. These MD'S grew up in India & knew of this Woman's faith in God. She is well known throughout India as a true Woman of faith & her ministry led thousands to a God that they came to know that HE LOVED THEM TOO UNCONDITIONALLY. I was moved when then shared their testimony of her.
What a moving story, of a selfless lady. My childhood friend whom I met in the hill country of India sent me this beautiful story. Our family went to India to teach back in the 50s , Just after Amy's passing. I did not know of this dedicated servant of God. Praise Him for her love and service to all she helped. If more would be like her what a change would be the condition of this world.thankyou for sharing this story with us. God is faithful.
It's definitely not a co incidence this popped up in my feed. Thank God for this. So inspired by the life & work of this unusual, non conformist missionary. Many years after her transition still inspiring many.
The blessing of this movie is very personally stirring. After graduating from Columbia (USA) I was led to serve at the Shankill Road Mission,. Belfast Northern Ireland across from the Orange Club. I am a 3rd generation Indian living again in South Africa. I was rejected by the Presbyterian Church of Northern Ireland on the proviso that our history sends missionaries to Africa and we cannot set a precedent by accepting Africans to Ireland. However, I am safe in the knowledge that I am where He wants me to best serve His purpose.
All said and done, it will do us a lot of good to always remember we do not serve an organization. But the Lord God Himself. After all who but God alone will send His faithful to the poor, the needy, the captives, the widows and the rejected? Indeed, who but God's faithful few had in the past sacrificed their all to actually GO, clothe the naked, feed the poor, free the captives and bear His redeeming Light to such remote places as India, Africa, oh the uttermost parts of the earth?? A 3rd generation Indian Christian suddenly did not spring out of nowhere, did he?
😊Hello! I so enjoyed reading your interesting and fascinating story of how you came to serve in the place, you are today… Now, it may help you to remember you are in good company as the “religious people” of Jesus day rejected and even hated Him, too! 🙌🏻To GOD Be the Glory! ETA: Scripture for clarification. In John 13:15, Jesus sets an example for us to follow. After washing His disciples' feet - an act of love, humility, and service - He encourages us to follow His lead and serve one another. "I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you," Jesus says.
Although babies sometimes died, it is AMAZING that these babies are in an even BETTER place! GOD has taken these little ones to heaven where they would never hurt again! What a GREAT story!
Thank you Lord for sending Amy to save those beautiful little ones. How great is our God. Blessed be Amy forever and May our Lord continue to bless this place 🙏
I studied in the school in the same campus. Praise God for Amy Carmichael's life. We often saw these little girls in the campus. They had their own side where they lived a life completely engulfed with stories of Amma and their own world. Most of them stayed back and served instead of leaving the premises to lead a normal life.
Please pray for me to hear from the Lord as I am currently seeking His direction and voice. I need the grace to follow Him no matter the cost. I appreciate your prayers. Thank you so much. God bless you.
@leela7366 Are you still awaiting prayers for direction? Sister Carmichael and this film’s producers demonstrate that as in Scripture, we see no one receiving tangible direction before dedication. Within the 100% love of God and same level of disinterest in worldly affairs, follow the many commands of our Lord listed in black and white. Preach the gospel and all other matters will be added onto you.
May the Lord call you by your name, stir up your spirit and fill your heart with His Mighty love. May you know Him, obey and surrender to Him, knowing that He is rhw Way, the Truth, and the Light ❤
Even though i'm from India, heard of Amy Carmichael only in 1998 when i was listening Elizabeth Elliot's Gateway to joy. Thank you for this beautiful presentation of Amma Amy Carmichael
What a beautiful soul, I watched this a few days ago, what a lesson for us all. She's a planted seed waiting for the Lord's return, along with her children
Inspirational. Grateful. Awed. Thank you, Amy Carmichael, for all you have meant to all kinds of people - especially my people, the ordinary Indian folks. Words are not enough to describe my feelings of gratefulness. For now, a simple 'thanks to you' and 'thanks to God' would suffice.
What wonderful clarity this woman had. I have never had this degree of certainty. It is truly amazing how God guides some people and they are enabled to see and hear so clearly what God is telling them.
one time a journalist did a story on Mother Teresa of Calcutta. He stayed there with her and the poor and dying for weeks while he observed and wrote his story. when it was time for him to go Mother Teresa asked the journalist, "How can I pray for you?" He thought a minute and said, "Will you ask God to give me the same 'clarity' that you have in your life and work?" Mother Teresa looked the journalist in the eyes and replied, "my son, I don't have clarity...I have TRUST. I trust God and He does the rest. This story has stayed with me for years. There is no voice telling us what to do or how to do it. We have the word of God as a guide. It is active and alive and very powerful. The most important quality we possess is Christ in us. The more we allow Christ in us for our body soul and spirit, the more we will know what we are to do. Obedience is the key and faith is the vehicle by which we know.
Of course God gives us clarity. If only we'd listen! Primarily, we got to remember God created mankind to proclaim His First Coming and its Divine Purpose thereof He so clearly demonstrated in the manner He created us - Gen 1:26-Gen 2:25. So, knowing that we were created for the very purpose of proclaiming the Gospel, how is it that we claim we struggle to discern His will for us? Secondly, as regards the nature of God's work assigned to each one of us, understand by discerning the times as the Lord has so perfectly and thoroughly clarified it to us. Refer Matt 24, Mk 13, Lk 21. For examples, learn from the nature of work of that of the apostles which clearly differed say from the nature of the work Ms Carmichael did. So, is it too difficult to understand the nature of work we are called to do in these end times? Is the time for Sowing when clearly Harvest is at hand? How long will one continue in the infantile diet of milk and not begin to crave solid foods for the Spiritually mature as one ought to? Refer Heb 5:11-14 for instance. How long will the churches pander to this rebellious generation and not warn them of the coming wrath of God?? How long will the churches pretend to molly-coddle the flock not permitting them an inch beyond the elementary truths so that they remain despicably complacent despite their obvious ignorance?? If you have failed to have clarity from God it is because you heed your so-called leaders and not God who exhorts that, ref. Jn 6:45, ALL GOD'S PEOPLE WILL BE TAUGHT BY GOD ALONE. For, most of all, understand that we are but akin to 'waiters' at His Table (eg. Lk 22:27), and we shall not be equipped to serve unless we are equipped by Him alone from whose Storehouse we are called to serve in the first place - eg. Matt 13:52.

Such a beautiful allegory of the dead in Christ being as seeds waiting in the ground until the final call, the voice of our Lord will bring them up on that glorious and marvelous day, the resurrection day. Ms. Carmichael is resting peacefully in the grave until that day. She fought the good fight, she finished the race. "Well done, good and faithful servant," says the Lord. May we all get to hear the same blessed words.
My 2nd son was born in India in 1982. Thank you for posting this video of the great & good Amy Carmichael. No wonder I learned about her then & now for this great video! I am reminded of what I saw in a small Catholic village Nomadelphia, near Grossetto of Italy a funeral where the people were all out dancing, entering into God's garden.
how the Dear Old Man solved two problems at one stroke: she needed a shelter in the storm, he needed a daughter-figure. Many people who live alone and have the room and the means could learn from this: that loneliness is most often present when we do not share what we have.
Thank you, Vision Video for yet another amazing true story with God's work evidenced in humans!! What a beautiful woman and ministry! So great to also hear from the great Mrs Jim Elliott!!❤

God bless her life. Very encouraging story. If God say to you go. We need to follow his voice. She's in heaven now serving the Lord in heaven. Many thanks!
She was a saint and so is every blood-washed believer, God's holy people, called out and consecrated as His own, faithful and committed to His great commission!
I am a Srilankan now living in Uk for nearly 40 yrs. I always thank and bless God for people like the British, Dutch etc who brought Christianity to our lands: may our gracious Lord bring back such missionaries now from our countries to open the eyes of people in the west to know the living God and serve Him!
Awesome story of complete commitment and faith of a missionary . She was truly a Saint to the countries and the people to whom she devoted her entire life. Thank God for all her sacrifice and obedience to this calling.
Thank you for sharing! I’ve been so blessed by the testimony of this Godly woman’s life, and what it means to die to oneself and give your life poured out as a living sacrifice to the Lord 🙏
God sent her around 25 miles away from my native town. The place is called Dhonavur Fellowship. God accomplished tremendous work through her and her team. Even today, we have witnessful ministries and shining light in the darkness.
These are the real Saints of the Church!! Imagine a work that transcends generations such that those working there now were thenselves brought there as babies!! It is a work founded and built on God's Word, proceeding from Him to her over the years she lived and loved Him lavishly!! Lord, help us too!🙏🙌🙇♂️🙇♀️🙇
What a great inspiration to our faith in Lord Jesus Christ! Thanks be to our Wonderful Saviour for this gift to the needy in India. Sister Amy had fought a good fight, finished the race and kept the faith! Hallelujah!!!
Wow! What a wonderful example to us of how God can work through people to reach and serve the lost. I have had tears in my eyes as I watched this story unfold. May all praise be to Jesus for He alone is worthy.
Thanks a lot for uploading this, nowadays there are so many unwanted things in social media, but it's a very useful thing we can teach our kids about the hardships faced by this missionaries, and this content is available in cartoon version also.
What an amazing beautiful caring woman/mother to all those precious children and adults. This sory is amazing! I loved watching this very much. Our Lord will always provide! 🙏 I can't say enough wonderful words to describe what a blessed lady Amy was. She is rewarded in heaven now with our Lord & saviour son of God Jesus christ and father God & the holy spirit. 🙏 ✝️ ❤️ Amen & Amen .
Amys life story speaks of the Real Church. Not the Prosperity Gospel many of us is caught up in today. Her life represents The Word of God that reflects the Power of God. A True Representative of Christ and His Church. Lord have mercy on us. I can now understand why Jesus said that there will be a seperation on the Day and why He will say I know you not. Im reminded of Matthew 25.
What inspiring and beautiful legacy. Today I allow her life to positively influence my thoughts and behaviour towards the Lord m God…My takeaway …Pray with heart ❤️ and supplication and leave the rest to HIM…. Thank you Amy 🙏😇
Event hough I have never seen my Amma, as one of the person who was rescued by the calvary's love of my Beloved Jesus, l thank my Heavenly Father for using Amma and her missionary and Indian coworkers for their selfless, sacrificed and total dedicated services to rescue me from the cruel hands of enemy. They laid down their lives on the alter in order to bring us to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and work of Salvation. I am more accountable to my Lord as l have received much from Fellowship through my Saviour. Him that receive more would be required to give more account. Ananda Paravasam, Bangalore, presently staying with my daughter's family in U.S.
She may have not had blue eyes, but this was a very beautiful woman in the inside, and I've only said that about 2 to women in my lifetime including her. I loved reading the book Elizabeth Elliot wrote about her back in my younger days. Amy Carmichael has been one of my favorite missionaries to read about. Such an incredible amazing faith and obedience she had. Physical beauty vanishes on the outside with time, but the inside never does.
When u fulfill the God's will he will provide all needed. This story inspire us to follow the God's desire. Suffering makes us stronger to attach with God. Mother Teresa also sacrifice her life to serve for poor and sick people. I think God loves India so beautiful soul came here and they fulfilled the purpose of God. ❤️🙏🙌

She was a saint and so is every blood-washed believer, God's holy people, called out and consecrated as His own, faithful and committed to His great commission!
Thank God for Women like her! So Brave and Bold but Humble and Meek! I love Children...l wanted a lot! 😇
Every believer is a saint but on the day of judgement she will be rewarded more than most of them.
Praise the Lord for such a woman of faith.
Awesome story of complete commitment and faith of a missionary . She was truly a Saint to the countries and the people to whom she devoted her entire life. Thank God for all her sacrifice and obedience to this calling.
Wow, I enjoyed watching every second of this wonderful woman of God’s life. An inspiration indeed
Thank you! This video came at the perfect time. God bless those people continuing the work Amy started. God bless you all! ✝️
Wow, God have her brown eyes because she needed them to accomplish her research in the temple. That is so profound.
These are the real Saints of the Church!! Imagine a work that transcends generations such that those working there now were thenselves brought there as babies!! It is a work founded and built on God's Word, proceeding from Him to her over the years she lived and loved Him lavishly!! Lord, help us too!🙏🙌🙇♂️🙇♀️🙇
Praise God for this humble servant who loved her Lord with all her heart, soul and mind. God bless all who continue her work in Donnavoor.
What a great inspiration to our faith in Lord Jesus Christ! Thanks be to our Wonderful Saviour for this gift to the needy in India. Sister Amy had fought a good fight, finished the race and kept the faith! Hallelujah!!!

Amazing! Astonishing!
Thank you Lord!
