    One of my friends in college had one just like this! Orange, 4 speed, 73, it has always been my favorite C3. The soft front with the chrome bumpers in the rear was always a great look.
    I was in college from 83-87.

      in1973 Chevrolet change their horsepower ratings from Gross to net at the rear Wheels. Because of insurance reasons. So you have to add About 60 horse power to the net. 73 454s we're rated at 275 Horsepower and 390lbs of torque so add 60 +275=335 Gross Horsepower same as a 68 SHELBY GT500

    • @thud9797
      @thud9797 10 месяцев назад +1

      And torque still stayed pretty high so these 73 and 74 big blocks still ran good. And Net was still at the flywheel, it's just the rating with all accessories operating to better represent the power as installed in the vehicle.

      This is not an LS engine. This is an old school Mark IV big block from 1970 and has nothing to do with the newer LS engines, the RPO designation just happened to be LS6, the other 454 that year was an LS5 and just a coincidence they start with LS.

    The factory ratibg for this Corvette is 275 HP and 390 ft-lbs of torque. Big difference between the instalked motor and the factory one!

      Ratings changed in ‘72. To compare to earlier models, its similar to 350 HP. Tuned correctly can achieve more.

    So 73 is plastic in the front and metal in the back on bumpers?
    Fun times when I saw them new back then.

    Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-(
    In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
    on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!! (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO laws)!!!!!

    Probably the ugliest Corvette ever. The mix and match bumpers. 60's rear bumper with a 70's front bumper. '73 Corvette did not have high horse power originally. That is a smog era engine. I lived it not fooling me. And you know where you can put your matching numbers. Where they go.

      So many morons on this thread that simply cannot read. They replaced the original numbers matching engine with an LS6 which has a ton more power than the factory ever had back in 73. The car comes with the stock engine in case anyone wants to restore it back to original number matching. This car can easily have the steel bumpers in the front added as well as side pipes so that it can look just like the late '60s model. God people at least read the full description and pay the attention before you make stupid comments.
