You are actually the first person who has explained in plain English stepping up. I absolutely love watching your videos and feel like I am ready to try this gorgeous starfish!! Thank you so much!
Kelly, I've seen a lot of these on youtube, but yours is by far the very best, in look and tutorial. Now I think I can actually make one. Thanks so much.
I'm very new to beading, but I've watched some very complicated videos. Your videos are fun to watch and very easy to follow. You are so sweet and have such a great personality. I love watching your videos! Great job. I'm from NC as well.
I needed this design today. Nothing beading was going right until this. I used a small, flat, clear acrylic button inside my starfish to puff it out a little. I picked them up at Walmart ages ago. It's a perfect fit. Thanks Kelly :)
This is the second tutorial I have taken with you, Kelly! Your demonstrations are so clear and concise. I think you are the best teacher I watched so far. Well done and thank you!!!
Wow Kelly! The sharpness of focus on this video is amazing!! You are always very clear in your directions and the videos were fine but this is off the charts clarity! Just WOW!
Thank you I finished mine took a bit longer for me I have to keep stopping you, your instructions are great my problem is I had a stroke but following you is easy for me.
Thank you so much for your wonderful, clear and well made video! For a few years, Ive watched your tutorials and I'm glad to have been a student in your class. I look forward to watching and learning from your other videos. Keep up the good work!!
Great instructions!! Thank you for all you videos. Made one today, very easy to follow!! I did add a large bead in the center to keep it "puffed out".. worked great!
So fun I immediately started making a second one!! Perfectly clear and easy instructions, very well filmed. Will look for more from this teacher. Thank you!
A really good "take on vacation" beading project. Kelly, I think you are an awesome teacher. Thank you for your instruction for many of my beading endeavors. Joan McGinn
I just completed my starfish! I love it, it's so cute. I used 10s and 9s to try and it's tiny, but I can't wait to make more. Thank you for a great tutorial xxx
Hi Kelly just wanted to say thank you for your tutorials you make them so easy to follow as I'm new to seed beading I'm learning all the time I decided to try your beautiful starfish pendant and am so happy to say I've completed it first time thanks to your tutorial keep up the great work Kelly and keep bringing us beautiful jewellery
Thanks so much Kelly! I have seen some like this on Facebook and have been interested in learning how to make them. Perfect timing on your part! I love all three color combinations as well. Very beachy :)
This was fun Kelly. Thanks. I used 11/0 and 15/0 (what I had on hand). I put a 4mm “Pearl” in the center before seeing the two sides together to keep it from flattening out. Works pretty well. I made the bail out of 15/0s… very fiddley but worth the effort. I’ll post a pic on the FB group - - - if we ever get any sun!
Been having a blast making these (and earrings) with so many different colors, but on a whim, i tried it with some 10/0 Delicas instead of the 11/0's and they came out great, too! Plus, with the 10's, you can really use almost any size needle (I have an unnaturally large supply of #10 needles, but not nearly as many #11's and #12's for some reason). I'm now going to try with the 10/0's and 15/0's next, just to see if it works and how different the sizes come out to be.
Thanks for this tutorial. Living on the Great Barrier Reef believe me when I say you don't need any padding in this pendant but ensure your keep your tension tight. I used 6lb fireline. My husband works at Reef HQ which is a GBR education centre. My starfish is very realistic. I used variegated white size 8.0s. Just love this. I can see the need to be making these for friends and family once they see mine. I will need to get size 15.0s for the earrings.
I made mine last night using Miyuki Amethyst and Silver lined crystal. Then I tossed a bunch of silver lined ruby in the center and zipped them up, finishing with the ruby in the center. The red beads came thru just a wee bit and looks great. All ready for the US holidays.
Kelly, I have to say that this is not only fun and easy but inspiring too. That bale can be used on other pendants. I am making my star fish in Christmas colors and in size 11 delicas and size 15 seed beads. It is so pretty. Thank you for sharing this with us. Merry Christmas my little one.
This has been so much fun! Excellent video! I've made 5 so far, 3 in 11/0 and 15/0 beads and 2 in the size beads of your tutorial. I like them so well that I ordered one of your kits plus more beads in other colors to make a few more. I placed the order Saturday morning and assumed it wasn't going to processed until after Memorial Day weekend but to my amazement I received a ship confirm later that day!!! WOW!
Beautiful pendant. You explain very well, although my language is Spanish, I understand your explanation each step and you take. I congratulate you from Dominican Republic👍👏
This is really cute!! And just in time. My husband and I go to Jekyll Island every year for our wedding anniversary. I think I'll make a set to wear while we're on the island. But instead of 8's and 11's, I'll substitute 11's and 15's to make earrings. Thanks Kelly!! I've made so many of your projects using my bead stash, I'm running out of shoe boxes to put them in. You really are a great and patient teacher! ( P.S. My family loves to go through my shoe boxes and pick something out to take home with them.)
I work out here on Jekyll! It is a very lovely place! I was thinking of making a bracelet out of these! they are just the cutest! I cant wait to try it when i get home tonight
Oh my gosh, thank you so much!! You're tutorials are literally the best on here. You go into just enough detail, but your videos aren't too long. I just finished my first star, thank you!
thank you for the videos,i am a beginner but i'm trying my best to look for beads here in our place closest to what you use since we do not have a complete set of materials being sold in stores, hopefully i can find some
I love these. The only trouble I'm having is keeping up with all these wonderful designs. Even though I'm retired I just need 48 hour days instead of 24. Thanks Kelly!
I agree. I couldn't wait to retire so I would have more time for beading; but it seems I have less time now. Time goes by so quickly . . . . or I'm just moving more slowly ;-)

WAoooow! butiful!...you rock Kelly! :o)
Put a round crystal bead inside where the center hole is, the tension of it should hold it there and it will give extra sparkle and interest.
Love this - I made one to go with a dress I have, but am having trouble coming up with a chain idea!
Hi Kelly ! A very nice tutorial, again ! I love the colors. Best wishes from Romania ! Melinda
