😅interesting video. I like learning about this stuff even though I don’t do this myself. I miss your video competitions with the King during egg cutting! ❤
Great video, I really like those, especially having the tops available. I had a rogue rat running loose in my basement, chewed up my waterlines, my WASHER..finally got the bugger.
Thank god I was worried that something happened even tho you were posting lives I wasn’t quite sure if they were past live streams happy holidays mutation creation
I love the Vision products. I just recently picked up their newly released Vision Ultra rodent racks for my ASFs and it’s amazing. Slowly starting to upgrade away from the DIY racks we started with.
Thank you Billy!! Hope everything is going well!! You have a awesome system!! The tubs do look nice with those little dividers on them!!Have a blessed day and a Happy New Years!!❤️✌️❤️✌️
I like how your rodent system.. very systematic, innovative and practical. I hope when I visit Canada I can go to your facility. You inspire me to be a ball python / rodent breeder. Sending love from the Philippines! Mabuhay ka ! ASTIG! :)
Awesome video. Buying those tubs now. More asf videos like this are welcome. I had no idea I about the 6 month production. Definitely didn’t know you could mix females with adult male without them killing him.
@@RAMERYS_ROYALS they can be unbolted & moved. Only difference really is the holes aren't there like FB offers based on a pre ordered request. If its something you want as a preference it is very easy to flip the hopper around. As for the water lines, you can keep them essentially were they are & they will just sit under the angle of the hopper which many would do. Someone local went a step up & ran the lines into the hoppers. If you do that, I'd suggest an o ring or chamfer on the edges so no nicks in the lines but honestly think that is extra work. On the racks they look welded on, its just a couple screws & thats going off old FB (powder coated), Newer stainless to ars so unless I'm missing one I haven't had in house
Do you have any estimate on how many breeding female ASFs you need per ball python? I have a few colonies of ASFs but they seem to breed so much slower than typical rats. I normally use my ASFs as treats and my more finicky snakes.
Using averages & such; avg litter size is 10 & gestation avg is 23 days with females able to get pregnant again within 3 hours after having their litters. IF things are like clockwork (optimal temps as example say as with most likely that 70 to 72 spot) & you are nothing losing litters due to low protein values or such, you would roughly see 180 babies from a female by 1/21/26 if her first 10 dropped today (12/26/24). Now, that again also takes out when they start to drop off production wise & so on after several months, etc. Second piece of equation is growth rate. They grow slower yes & you are looking at a "weanling" approximately in 4 weeks (1 month) which general consensus is 18grams however others label "smalls" at 10-20g. An adult female (60g) or male (75g) is at 4 months of age & your retired breeders "jumbos" would be 130g (female), 140g (male) - Again averages as some get larger for sure and females especially will grow larger if in colonies or bred, if kept in grow out / solo they will stay smaller even as adult size. If you had (10) tubs of 1.5 that gives you 50 breeding females that theoretically can yield 9000 in a season if everything was hitting on all cylinders. You need to account for loss, growth spacing & so forth. We were running 125 colonies at one point & everything had its stage & rotation. Rats & Mice have a place sure, Rats can grow quick but the foot print they take up compared to other trophic species is part of their con. Early on feeding of many species such as Balls the industry pushes Rats because well, the dollar is there, the push to breed fast & grow quick is there but overall the benefits from a science stand point are not. Extra fat & water weight vs a complete diet in a sense, as something grows the argument can be made but earlier on a mouse or asf over a rat pup; well thats a different topic ;-)
Did a similar setup with those lids and racks for a few years. Great setup and video!

Love the set up, now I've got some new rat room ideas!
Thanks so much, glad to share.
Awesome, clean looking rodent setup. This looks a lot easier over rodent racks
Glad you think so! ❤
✨Vraiment cool pour l'élevage de rongeurs super pratique
How many large ASF do you feed your adult ball pythons?
Wish I would have saw this prior to purchasing my ars setup hate the food hoppers being located on the back of the rack. Awesome setup and video Billy
Thank you. It is just my preference.
What rack do you have? You should be able to move the hoppers
@ can’t move them on ARS rack water valves are on the front and water lines run across where the hoppers would install
@ it looks great Billy

Merry Christmas to all of you and the family
Great video as always
Appreciate it! 👍
Appreciate it ❤
That’s so sick billy love that set up now I’m thinking of a new way to do my asf’s
Great, glad to share how I do this.
do you have the link for the shelfs
What are the dimensions of that wire rack? I use a similar setup but the fit of those tubs on that rack is way better than mine.
billy love this idea, any links of the metal rack? trying to find in amazon but cant find the 20 inch deep one to fit the tubs.. thanx in advance

How much is one tub and lid set up
Hey Billy what food is that your running besides the seed??
What rack are you using from Amazon?
Wut type is you using besides that brown pellets?
Miss the videos come back soon Billy
is that right ASF grow slower than other kind of rodent ?
ASF ftw!!
👍💞👊🔥💞
My rats bite me all the time! Even when I wear gloves.... The ASFs don't bite? They don't seem to want to jump out of the bins either?
So no rats? Just ASFs?
This is probably a ridiculous question, but do you have to worry about rodent infestations in your rat room?
Been too long
