I know when Yellow man came on the sense, I am bit older than him and. I respect him as a young man coming from nowhere as such really, elevated himself. But Yellow man only becomes prominent when General Echo died in 1980, in the 1970s . General Echo and Wilton Irie was the two prominent DJs in Jamaica, because echo have his own sound system. Named Echo Tone ,I know when he was at Stereophonics along with Wilton Irie and, Flux was the selectors. In those days you have man like Trevor Ranking, Ranking Joe, Sassafras, URrown, Charlie Chaplain,Lewie Leppkin, useto far better than Yellow man.Is General Echo died Yellow man useto used Echo free styles and useto, do a lot of slackness as General Echo and Wilton Irie.I and General Echo was born in the same year,but I am a few months older than him.I know URoy, Machukie, and King Stitch long before Yellow man, also General Echo them came around and. What I really can't understand with these younger generation DJs in Jamaica, they are not talking about the foundation DJs them. Wished all of them copying, they are behaving so erratic like is them really invented the DJ business.The very 1st King of DJ in Jamaica,was King Stitch was crowns by the people them. So all the people them that is fighting about King of dancehall, the real King is Stitch.I useto dance to King Stitch from a little boy, until I become a man. I useto see him almost everyday on east Queen Street along with Bunny Grants,I remembered the days. When King Stitch and URoy a trades records, for records against each other. Those was the days,as soon as King Stitch put a record, URoy in England at the time. Reply from England with a record trying to counteract King Stitch,in those days.
The only thing with these younger generation DJs them, they are very much fortunate to make some good money over the elderly DJs them. But in terms of riding the rethym them,I don't see one of those younger DJs in Jamaica. Can really ride the rethym as URoy himself,I am not trying to bias against no one. I have never heard URoy in anyone his interview, talked about his colleagues them. Like how the younger generation DJs them talking about the rest of DJs them, and they are lying big times. Because all of them steal one another music, because back in the 1970s nobody was recording at all. So guys useto go to the dance with their tape and, taped music all night. Then go home and practice it, then go to the studio, and recorded it.So none of them cannot fooled me at all,as I said that some people is only fortunate than some. That is only the bottom line to it, and Shabba Ranks was the DJ in Jamaica to won. Two Grammy awards before any other DJs in Jamaica, and Shabba Ranks just cool with it.Other DJs got nominated, but never won at all.I know that you have some people does not like when I speak the truth, about the music fraternity in Jamaica. I been living near to King Tubbys Hi-Fi sound system from in the 1960s , when URoy was the DJ also the selector for the sound system in those days.
