From the studio that brought you "Mighty Peking Man" & "Infra-Man", it's "The Deadly Duo"!
gotta be first reply
...and surprisingly less nuts than that second one.
tbh was expecting jackie chan or things to get pretty crazy. lol wasnt exactly disappointed xD came for the title and stayed for all the references
Cheesy 70s Kung Fu flicks are just a step below cheesy 70s and '80s monster flicks for me. Simply the Best in my childhood late night TV binging.
*...okay...*
No laws of physics were harmed during the making of this motion picture.
*obeyed
LoL that's funny!
"suspension of disbelief" however was broken into tiny pieces with extreme prejudice
Water, Gold, Earth, Wood, Fire.... By your powers combined I am Captain Deadly Venom!!
His real name is Yang Sze then after Enter the Dragon he started going by Bolo Yeung the name of his character
A bridge of doom and not ONE Monty Python and the Holy Grail sting?
Opportunity missed by a mile!
Wasn't expecting a Crayon Shinchan reference, but it's appreciated.
The Deadly Duo? Can't wait for Brandon's eventually review of Heroic Trio. Now there's a Hong Kong cult classic.
Everybody been saying "let's go"
Oh shit yes.
But it has to be the original Hong Kong version, preferably with the original international dubbing. The redubbed, censored one Miramax released is unacceptable.
Follow that with Fant4stic just so he can have an excuse to go on and review 5 Deadly Venoms.
I don't think enough people talk about how hilarious Brandon is. Every single thing he says is funny. You have awesome comedic timing! Your content is a joy to watch.
I follow Brandon mainly for his humour, as I am not really a Godzilla fan.
@@ajbahlam Agreed. I really don't care what movie he's doing, I know it'll be entertaining.
I subscribed to Brandon for almost 2 years now, mainly for the comedy. I am not really a kaiju/godzilla fan.
EVERY SINGLE THING? really?...
Plenty of us cannot afford to pay #BrandonTenold, which is the real prob. Else he could make the better movie versions, instead of just moderating & reviewing. #Canada #Hollywood
Shaw Brothers, Bolo Yeung and video game references. It doesn't get any better folks!
Brandon: ''...who the hell are these people anyway?''
Movie character: ''The 2 men hiding in the trees & on the ground, were Tree Man and Mole Man...."
Well... of course they are!
Dude, I’m from Southwest Louisiana and we lost our home in hurricane Laura and Delta in August 2020 and listening to your channel and your content is such an escape for me. Ty for doing what you do Brandon! -Chris Livergood
My prayers go out to you and your loved ones, sorry for your loss. :(
At least your liver is good.
@@Lardfist0 “My liver! My liver!”
“Lower, dude!”
I grew up in Lake Charles so sorry.
Man the Bridge of Doom has the ultimate toll price. They kept falling through the bridge is if their names were Wiley Coyote or Yosemite Sam.
They'd have better luck answering the -five- three questions
If the were wiley coyote, they would have got back up and continued the adventure.😁
@@jackmcslay what were those questions?
@@TheRealNormanBates "What is your name?" "What is your quest?" "What is your favorite color?"
the ending is refencing a legend of a a samurai that held a bridge after his death
We wouldn't have Sunday afternoon Kung Fu theater without SB..
Or Saturday afternoon Kung Fu theater (carried on WUTV, Channel 29, Buffalo, New York, which I as a kid saw here in Toronto.)
Let’s take time to imagine an inframan sequel.
Lol I'd definitely want one!
Inframan finally faces King dragon dad
BOOM!!
@@benderbendingrodriguez420 BOOM!
If there was a shaw brothers style movie with Brandon as one of the main characters wielding a goofy, over the top, weapon ... I would pay to see it.
YES!😄
You can never go wrong with some classic Shaw Brothers and along with their counterparts in Golden harvest and the countless knockoffs, you'll never run out of them.
Just re member, when following the plot. Dont bother.
@@demonkingbadger6689 I always thought the golden rule in these types of movies were: Consistency doesn't exist. if it did, these wouldn't be so fun? :P
A friend of mine( R.I.P 1994) imagined how they got all those guys to fight: the director announced: "We only have enough rice to feed half of you."
With Ghostbusters: Afterlife coming out next week it's appropriate to end on the famous NES game's end screen lol ;3
Shaw Bros films are always good for a few laughs lol.
"As long there isn't a sewer level, I'll be ok."
That a Civvie-11 reference? Lmao
TMNT, SoR4, Comix Zone, Batman too I think.. forgot the other one.
Missed a Skyrim jab with tanking the arrows.
I think the first reviewer I have seen complain about sewer levels was Spoony.
10:11 there could have been a reference to the Hookshot from Legend of Zelda.
You'll get a kick out of "Crippled Avengers" aka "The Return of the Five Deadly Venoms!"
There are a few crippled kung-fu movies, most of them actually use deformed or amputated caste for the hero's, they are amazing to watch seeing just how capable they can be.
*Moleman:* "You call that a knife? THIS is a knife! OoOoh, down I go!"
*Crocodile Dundee looks at the knife and quietly approves*
You went the video game route and you missed the perfect Mallow reference with those cymbals, one of the few to actually wield them, he fit in perfect too, Mole Man, Tree Man, Cloud Guy!
Maybe his mind was..... clouded?
I'm not sorry.
I haven't been catching your videos on release lately. Using them as workout videos, your videos never disappoint. It makes me happy when one of yours is the right length to splice together with something else to make the right length for workout session. If I had to make a mount Rushmore of RUclipsrs, you'd be one of those faces.
36 Chambers of Shaolin would be a great review, but maybe it’s too well known? I dunno, it’d be pretty funny.
Battle Wizard may be more appropriate. Kung fu fighting with finger lasers.
And it's still copyright protected.
I this is good
OMG I would love to see Brandon review "Brutal Boxer". I would love to see his reaction on some of the worst cinematography xD LOL
I love the Shaw Brothers, man. Cheap, campy, chop socky Kung Fu goodness from the grunts to the weapon sounds. :D
Can the Deadly Duo take on the Destructive Duo (Godzilla and Anguirus)...
The answer is no
I think the rescue would have been much easier if they hired a sorcerer class.
First person I've seen promoting Raycon that's actually rocking out with them.
"Directed by Chang Cheh--"
A minute after, people die bloody. FedEx doesn't deliver as fast as Chang Cheh
well i thought he said chin chin
The perfect movie to watch once on Netflix.
Great vid, you should do way more kung-fu flicks. May I suggest 'Kung-Fu Zombie', it's from the same director of Infra-Man and has a similar kinetic aesthetic.
As long as he finds a decent copy; lots of crappy dimestore PD DVDs out there!
That's the Billy Chong film right? The action scenes are so hilariously undercranked. Love the maoshan priest though.
Just by mentioning Godzilla, you are daring Toho to strike this video.

@@mrsuns10 take my thumbs-up and get out🤣
fuckin' love me some Shin Chan, and some Brandon Tenold vids!
action bastard old movie watching hooooooooo!!!!!
Thank god, this day was dragging on!
"we haven't been 20 minutes in and 90% of the dialog have been "hyah" "yagh" "chiah!"!!"
-hilarious man. just hilarious. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That harpoon thing was legitimately awesome. You really need to cover Master of the Flying Guillotine as a milestone video. That movie is historic.
These voiceovers are giving me constant Wu-Tang flashbacks
Then you have movies like "Master of the flying guillotine", with an entire third of it consisting of a deadly fighting Tournament. Still good, just a little weird they did that.
Love that movie. Have you seen Holy Flame of the Martial World? It's in the same ballpark of crazy
also do not fast forget it's prequal One-Armed Boxer.
Thai character happens to be Betty in the Kung pow flick
Love your videos Brandon always a blast to watch
"How long can you take it?" "As long as I'm living I can hold onto you." Dialog written for a romance novel, by the sound of it.
There actually is a Dynasty Warriors movie on Netflix. It is one of the worst "films" I've ever seen and somehow makes the plot of the games seem like Shakespeare. Definitely worth the watch in the same way that you fixate on looking at a car crash when driving by the scene.
I didn't think it was that bad, then again I'm a longtime fan of the games
What's the name of the movie?
The good dynasty warrior movie is "red cliff".
@@SAM-ru4vx that’s not a dynasty warriors movie, it’s based on the Three Kingdoms novel just like Dynasty warriors.
@@probablysomeguy4806 it's no different than "monkey king" and "a journey to the west" being based on the same story.
You missed a Monty Python reference for the Bridge of Death. I'm so disappointed
4:21 "Whoever this guy is wins", that really got me. Good job Brandon
idk why but i found him calling the guy crayon shin-chan a lot funnier than i should have now the prince needs to do the action basterd pose
4:05
Is Brandon remembering when Peter Cushing actually trips and falls into a fire and they left it in "Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires"?
It's rare that a RUclipsr talks about a Shaw Bros movie. That needs to happen more often. Check out Killer Constable.
Me sitting here waiting for him to do the Beast Master like he promised 6 videos ago lmafo
Honey'dicked
Hey! Dynasty Warriors IS based on actual history, just heavily exaggerated and romanticized like these awesome Shaw Brothers films.
Even better place to start, The 5 Deadly Venoms. (Popularly known as The Venom Mob!) Followed up with Crippled Avengers. Starring the same cast, but in completely different roles. Both great martial arts films.
I am. Just having my TV dinner with this freaking review, thank you Brandon for making my time great!
Mole Man was a Fantastic Four villain, thank you
All that bridge was missing was a giant octopus or a wizard asking about favorite colors defending it.
The second I saw that hook-harpoon-chain weapon, I heard "Get over here!" in my mind before Brandon played it.
I grew up on Infra man and old Ultra man! the best thing my dad ever did was introduce me to them.
I can't see the ending of the NES Ghostbusters game without thinking of AVGN.
Brandon definitely knows his audience. Yeah if Godzilla has been in this it would have gotten tons of views
And then taken down by Toho.
So glad your getting sponsor for more videos. Happy it helps support the channel for as long as you want to keep providing great content.
Hey, Ti Lung is in this movie. He's probably most famous for playing Jackie Chan's dad in Druken Master 2 (despite probably only being about 5 years older than Jackie) but I'll always remember him from the Better Tomorrow movies alongside Chow Yun Fat.
BT, all I can say is...BOUT DAMN TIME! I was dying for you to cover a Shaw Bros martial arts film since discovering your channel! Thank you, bro!
"if i was that dead guy, i'd be pissed!"
ha ha ha ha ha!
You were right. The deadly duo was Ti Lung and David Chiang Da Wei. They were huge stars that Chang Che made quite a few movies with. You will recognize Ti Lung from his later movies I'm sure, like Drunken Master 2 and A Better Tomorrow.
Love me some Shaw Brothers and Golden Harvest!!!!
Congrats on the sponsors man. And thank you for being absolutely straight (and fast) with them.
Glad you got a sponsor! Been loving the videos man, thanks for the content
Lol An official live action dynasty warriors film would be awesome! But in the meantime we still have this!
I believe there is a Dynasty Warriors film already out within the last year. I haven't seen it, but there was way too much CGI in it for my tastes from what I saw in the trailer.
@@Rando1975 Damn, too much cgi in a film like that is definitely a no no in my book too
@@ShinGoji1987Official yep. Now I'm more of a Romance of the Three Kingdoms fan, then a Dynasty Warriors fan, but it's the same characters etc., but when I saw it's a lot of fantasy CGI it was a nope from me.
Great work Brandon, best rip in a while. Thanks again man, you keep me busy digging backwards on these films.
Get that bag Brandon!!!! Congrats on the sponsor!!!
As it happens, one of my most recent acquisitions is a Shaw Bros. movie also starring David Chiang:
"THE LEGEND OF THE 7 GOLDEN VAMPIRES" (1974)
Warner Bros. put up the money to finance the Hammer Films end of this co-production, there was non-stop chaos due to language and cultural problems between the 2 films crews, but on the other hand, Peter Cushing worked directly with David Chiang, who said decades later that he feels he became a much-better actor due to Cushing's help. INSANELY, Warners decided at the last minute NOT to release the film in the USA at all, and 5 years later, Max Rosenberg acquired it, BUTCHERED it horribly, and released it under the name "THE 7 BROTHERS MEET DRACULA". Both versions are now available on Blu-Ray. The original is stunning, the butcher-job a horrible curiosity. Cheh Chang served as an (UNCREDITED!) consultant on the film.
Man, your jokes were on point in this one, Brandon! Had me laughing the whole time! And it was nice to see a Shaw Brothers film I HADN'T seen! I'll have to look this one up!
Great video! I'll be watching many Shaw brothers movies this winter ^^
"even ninja gaiden less effective than those guys" I did I made a video game reference I can die in peace now
I'm surprised there was no DECAPITATION!!!! I kept expecting it
That bridge scene is dangerously close to being Monty Python and the Holy Grail levels of silliness.
As always your videos are very funny and insightful. I loved how I was able to get all your references even the crayon Shin-chan.
I can tell you had fun with this one. This was fun to watch thanks Brotha
We need a Kill-Count on this XD
I'm pretty sure that number would completely fill the screen by the second video game reference.
Doood, you GOTTA do the Jackie Chan classic, "snake in eagle's shadow."
So thanks to you Brandon, I’m gonna spend the next few hours downloading a Sega Genesis mod so I can play Golden Axe all night. Thanks Dick 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Brandon and The Shaw bros. go together all too well. Feel free to keep ‘em coming!
This video review is a 10/10 Brandon, hilarious and love these cheesy Shaw bros Flix, they make for a very entertaining dissection from your witty sarcasm. I highly recommend crippled avengers and the prodigal son for some great Kung Fu cheese. keep up the great reviews man! 👍 U deserve more subscribers
This was the funniest video you've done in a minute, Brandon--I laughed out loud quite a few times throughout it! I think I need to add this to my collection, because Shaw Brothers movies are always golden with me.
"Just as long as I'm living, I can hold onto you."
I think that's an Air Supply lyric.
Love Shaw Bros. Thank you Brandon!
I need to watch this video someday. And thank you so much for all the game references, it made the video even more enjoyable!
Gotta say out of all these old movie review channels your best
In regards to how they could've gotten over that bridge, to quote AVGN: "You can just walk over it."
Let's go Brandon! This opens the door to all the Shaw Bros. Greats! Five Deadly Venoms would be Awesome! Great review! Love the Golden Axe reference!
That is a nice cool shirt Brandon, I love it!
So far, one of your best in a while. Not an insult.
Yep. “Uh..yeah we just wanted to tell you our teacher thought you sucked.”
6:40 had me in absolute stitches, cheers Brandon.
Great action! Not surprised @ all from a Sir Run Run Shaw production. Crazy ass weapons. I love Martial Arts films .
"The killing of Satan" is a must riff
Binged on SB a while back.
The video game analogy would've been complete if the movie had been about a quest for a princess instead of a prince.
Your voice reminds me of cinema snob so much. Love your videos!
Great video! LETS GO BRANDON!
Yo Brandon, check out The Gardener. A really obscure 70's horror movie!
Isn't there an action adventure low budget movie coming out this year with the same name? It has the foreign actor that looks like Charles Bronson in it? ;)
Brandon *PROOVED* that good comedy still exists! 😎👍
