    Unlike Makita, Hikoki and Bosch batteries, Milwaukee batteries can be unlocked. The intelligent Milwaukee charger, after checking all Li-Ion cells, reactivates the battery's electronics.
    Yesterday I received 5 pieces of "defective" Milwaukee M18/5Ah batteries for free. After two hours, all batteries work like new without changing cells, BMS and soldering iron!

    Those eBay boards look very basic. I ordered some from AliExpress that have 4V/8V/12V/16V voltage sensing and 2 65C thermal switches - there are options out there to build Makita batteries better than Makita for way cheaper.
    Got some inspiration from Bosch batteries(which seem to be built significantly better than all the other manufacturers) and going to connect these with 0.1mm copper(sandwiched with nickel, because I don’t have the tools - Bosch seems to solder the 0.3mm copper with a laser, creating A Lot of connection points/surface with the battery).

      yes it's connected to the battery management board and talks with the connection on the charger regarding battery state cell state and how many charges the battery has had. it dosnt balance charge through it that's the battery boards job along with the others mentioned.

    No one knows enough about these batteries, I think Makita does a pretty good job of hiding the secret about how their BMS (Battery Management System works. That being said the u-tuber here is right when he said it doesn't make much sense buying one on ebay or elsewhere because it might not fit the case or it might not work at all. But what he doesn't mention is that someones the cells are perfectly balanced and nothing is wrong with the cells at all but it still won't charge and in my opinion the BMS is faulty and at this point it is perfectly fine to find alternative ways of changing and using these batteries. I for example don't care about their BMSes ones they go bad. I make it work my own way and charge it my own way, have yet to have any issues with it.
    Makita uses very good cell but I don't like their BMS!

    This is exactly the subject matter i was looking for! Thanks for a great video!
    I'm charging each cell of a Wheatley 6ah pack that has gone dead in hope that when they are all charged to the same voltage the Makita charger will charge the pack again... So far I'm at 3.43v - 3.7v. trying to get them all up to the 3.7v mark. When I started 4 if the cells where reading a 0 voltage. But they all seem to be holding a charge now. The pack indicator is now saying 60%. Is this attempt likely to work or am i wasting my time?
    Meany thanks advance 🙏

      take the pcb off and check it's not a bad solder joint or melted nickle strip under the pcb. something has a brake in also make sure all the spot welds are on the batteries.

    • @olivierj.2435
      @olivierj.2435 2 года назад +1

      You have to put 18650 with same voltage on your battery. Maybe you have put 18650 fully charged with 18650 not fully charged so charger will stop quickly as he thinks that your battery is fully charged

      it could be a load of issues unfortunately. bad cell/ unbalanced cells / bad bms/ wired incorrectly/
      you will need to check everything over with a meter to try and find the fault if you can.

    your bonfire at 1:18, thats a fast charger isnt it? thats probably why it got cooked. genuine battery on a genuine charger. the customers want a fast charger and the competitors make fast chargers so makita makes fast chargers. i saw a video by a repairman who claimed that fast chargers shorten battery life. so i put mine away and only use the slow chargers i got given for free. i never used them because they were slow chargers. who wants slow chargers? i do now.

    Hi. Makita battery. How to unlock and restart the BMS board? After a month of operation, the LEDs began to blink and it would not charge. (as in the 10 second video on the link) The BMS board does not work. The battery is original, new. But I opened it myself after it was blocked. There is no longer a guarantee. / The battery pack itself works, everything is fine with the cells. Temporarily soldered a jumper from the short contact group to the adjacent positive contact group, the battery pack works, but in this option there is no protection for the cells ruclips.net/video/wONqJTCsh5E/видео.html

    Your burnt/melted battery looks like a knock off brand, not a real Makita battery. Li-ion is dangerous, stick with reputable manufacturers to avoid catastrophic fires.
